Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
Hopefully, it's just minor and doesn't re-occur throughout the season.

Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
Sounds minor let's hope it doesn't become an issue.
|
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
It seem to be an occurance that affects this team like no other. It's gotten to the point where you almost expect it to happen........Not a good thought!!
|
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
Todd's like, hmmmmm, this might work out!
|
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
I just hate our team's recent history with pulled hammies. Hopefully it's just related to Campbell's new throwing stance and he can work it out quickly.
In the meantime, I think the trainers need to watch the basketball scene from The Cable Guy so they can learn how to really stretch those babies out. |

I guess if he's looking for OTA reps with the first team, maybe. Beyond that, not much to come of it. |
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
i hope its just a one time thing...if its not, colt brennan ftw...
|
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
Sit his ass down now. Let it heal up completely.
|
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
Looks like Baldinger might be right!! Only kidding.
Reminds me of the cable guy w/ Jim Carrey, "Don't want to pull a hammy." |
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
Was he racing Anthony Montgomery after a heated locker room argument over who is faster?
|

Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
I've got dibs on the Colt Brennan Fan Club. Oh yeah, baby - it has begun.

Joke, man |
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
How do you pull a hammy when there's no contact, huh?
He shouldn't have even been using his hammy during preseason anyway. Save that shit for the regular season. |
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
Wait CP had minor hip surgery, or whats that last part about?
|
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
Hamstrings are tricky. Hopefully our franchise quarterback will be ok.
|
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
Is Bubba Tyer still our alethic trainer, or was he only here with Gibbs?
|
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
Bubba is still our trainer.
|
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
Does anyone know if anybody in the training staff was whacked from last year? There were chronic conditioning issues in the hotter temperatures...mostly hammys...I bet this cost us a game or two early in the season.

Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
Campbell scares me.
It's not good if this ailment is a product of Zorn's new mechanics. |

We also have to remember in these days of 24 hour news everything becomes news when back 10 years ago these types of things we would never hear about or they are non issues. |

There is no telling but to jump on the blame wagon is a bit much to me. Its a pulled hammy, not a ripped hammy or a blown knee. It happens. Maybe Fred Davis oversleeping was a product of Zorn's new mechanics too. |
Sorry Drillz...good post though.
It's cool. Glad to see someone else mention The Cable Guy. I make references to it all the time and people just give me dirty looks.
The only thing that worries me is that it really wasn't all that hot on Wednesday. What will happen when it gets really hot in July and August? I just hope the trainers have learned from the past. |
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
Zorn said it was not a big deal and more related to JC's new stance.

no it has not. vultures... |
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
I hope Jason doesn't miss too many reps with the first team. He's got to learn this new offense.
|
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
I'm not too worried.
A hammy cannot be as bad for a qb as it is for wr or cb or whatever else really. |
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
Jim Zorn said its from having him bend his knees more in the pre snap and he said he "tweaked" the hammy not pulled it, big difference. I'm guessing this will be a non issue come june when his hammy is worked into his new mechanics, i would not be worried about it at all.
|
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
guess he won't be ex static anymore...
|
How do you pull a hammy when there's no contact, huh?
He shouldn't have even been using his hammy during preseason anyway. Save that shit for the regular season.
Hammy pulls have nothing to do with contact or no contact. You could pull your hammy walking up stairs or jogging down the street. Hammy pulls are generally not caused by contact. Zorn said it has something to do with his throwing stance and release. |

Yeah Zorn said he thinks it's because he has Jason sinking deeper into his stance. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope this is the reason. |

I know i'm going to catch a lot of hate mail on this one but Campbell will fall by week 3-5 and Colt will take the driver seat to the playoffs and maybe SuperBowl...With our recievers and offense scheme you would want it all so(Not a Campbell injury...maybe thats too far) |

Assuming that does happen (which I highly believe it wont), don't you think TODD COLLINS, the proven backup and team leader, will lead the team to the playoffs, not the unproven, 6th round draft pick rookie who has never so much as play a down of professional football in his life? |
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
our training staff is about the worst ever.

While what you said is true, you still need to stretch the damn thing |

There's ZERO chance of that happening. Colt will join Anthony Mix, Sultan McCollough, Mike Espy, Robert McCune and Garnell Wilds in the Message Board Hall of Fame but that's the closest he will see to any meaningful recognition. He's more of a project than any other QB drafted this year and will probably spend the season on IR from his hip injury. |
Re: Jason Campbell pulled his hammy
I would rather have Todd Collins start anyways. Granted, he ran an Al Saunders offense that he knew in KC, but he has what it takes to win games and run an offense. his QB rating was about 100, and lead us to 5 straight wins. Its clear Campbell cannot run an offense. He makes too many key mistakes, like the ends of the TB and Dallas games where he threw costly picks. His TD and INT ratio is bad, and his QB rating has been low as well, in the high 70's. The upsetting thing is that his stats show no improvement year to year. We cannot win with him, just look at his record as a starter, its below 500. though collins is old, he really hasnt been banged up much in his career due to being a backup.
