What's up with the no shirt look? I don't know about you guys but if I'm at a party where guys have their shirts off, I'm out. Popped collars is a closed 2nd.

Dude, I am ashamed to admit it, but I have popped a few slim fit ralph laurens' !!!! Sorry!!! Anyway, Im wondering if Vince Young will ever be the player people were expecting. It just hard to see a Jeff Fisher guy go to waste. (Pacman) not the same, but if both are busts its ashame such a good coach got such idiot players.

Oh my god -- a young rich man drinking in the offseason. Call the presses. As long as hes on the field and doing what he needs to do for his team, who cares.

Re: V. Young: drunk and topless

For the record he said that he took his shirt off because it was hot in thurr.

As for the bust argument, dude isn't a bust by any stretch of the imagination. He may not be a good passer, but he is an explosive player who's probably the best running qb in the league now that Vick is gone. What's sad is that the Titans aren't giving him anything to work with, he needs some serious wide receiver help if he wants to mature as a quarterback, and so far they haven't done anything to help him. Lendale White was actually progressing last season, and they decided to use their first round pick on another running back when they should've been trying to get a wide receiver to help Young out.

But based on factors like his draft status, contract, and rushing ability, he will be around long enough to learn how to pass in the NFL. It's just that, based on his first two seasons, it won't be happening anytime soon.

The best man has already said that he's going to start off his speech by saying "something doesn't feel right..." then he's going to pop his collar and say "ah, that's better."
Many tears will be shed this weekend, you can be sure of that.

This actually looks worse than what Matt Leinart did. Sometimes we forget that these guys are in their early/ mid 20's and they're going to do some silly stuff. Not everyone is going to be as mature as JC. But he's not breaking any laws. No big deal.

I wouldn't call Young an idiot. I think that's going a little too far. He's never got arrested or anything. The fact is when you take a QB that high it's probably a 50/50 chance that he's ever going to live up to those expectations. History shows that. I think we're probably going to see Kerry Collins this year just cause he's a much better pocket passer.

That is too funny. Perhaps VY was trying to draw attention away from his freakishly large head and receding hairline.

Maybe the chicks took off when dude's started taking off their shirts and dancing all close to each other. In that third pic it looks like VY is contemplating finishing the job and just taking his pants off too. :laughing2And then there is the random fat white guy standing around in the circle. Exactly. hahaha. He's also an idiot for drinking Patron straight from the bottle. Ugh.

I disagree with people who say this is no big deal. He was the 3rd overall pick, he's getting paid truckloads of cash, and he's the QB/team leader of a NFL franchise worth 9 figures. How would a company feel if their CEO was photographed in such a situation? Sure he's not breaking the law, but he's getting hammered in public and acting like an ass. Based on their status, what they're responsible for, and salary, these guys should be held to a high standard. Shirtless and shitfaced with a tequila bottle in public isn't good.

Drink at home VY.

It's definitely worse than Leinart....there were females at Leinart's and also no dudes with shirts off.

At least Kyle Orton gets credit for keeping his shirt on, even if he couldn't keep the spillage off it....:laughing2

Yeah, I'm sneaky like that! ;)

In all fairness, I don't think it's a big deal. He's probably out with friends just having a good time. How many of us have NOT been to a bar and had too much to drink?
In my younger days, when I had a great body, I was at bar and had a strawberry daquiri spilt on me by my drunk friend. She actually took my shirt off to go wash it in the ladies room. I was a little self conscious at first, but when she was gone for a good 45 minutes, and I sucked down my 12th or so beer, I could care less what people thought. At least I had an excuse, but we don't know why he was shirtless. Maybe it was 100 degrees or something? Can't believe I am defending VY.

ps- he's still the most overrated qb in football bar none. I feel better now. :D

I'm not trying to use that as his defense, all I'm saying is, we don't know why he did it.
I doubt it was a similar story to mine...but why does it really matter? I think it's tasteless, but I am betting the people around him didn't think it was.

Sloppy drunk in public multiple times. The emphasis is on sloppy as he usually has booze slopped all over the front of him. There are several pictures posted here try a search.

Re: V. Young: drunk and topless

This all sounds about right though. He gets too much attention during the season for 1 play a game even though he sucked for almost all of it, and now he gets attention for getting drunk and taking his shirt off. No one got hurt, no one went drunk driving (at least got caught doing it) and no brawl broke out. Why are people so enamored with this guy? Easily the most overrated QB in the NFL, and arguably the worst QB in the NFL.
I guess this is offseason topic.

That's actually the first time I saw the orton pics.
I never saw the Lienart pics either, but that's because I didn't want to. They didn't deserve my attention. If I were him, I'd party occasionally as well. Enjoy life. Everyone parties on occasion, and if you're old enough (like myself) and no longer party, I am sure you had your moments in your past. It's like taking a picture of someone on the crapper. It happens, and it's not news worthy.
But I do appreciate another chance to be able to say how overrated VY is! :D

I went to school at College Park, and one day some of my friends and I were waiting in line at the Chipotle. My buddy saw this guy infront of us with his collar popped, so he walked up to him and was like "hey buddy your collar's popped," and put it down for him, it was hilarious. The look on the guy's face was priceless. My friend was completely sober too.

Unfortunately he decided to continue doing this out at the bars. It almost lead to some fights with some frat boys on multiple occasions. We eventually told my friend we wouldn't back him up if he ever did get in a fight because he was being an asshole. He just recently cut back on that type of behavior because someone wacked him in the face with a skateboard, lol.

While I'm not condoning the activity (though I went to UVa I've never popped my collar ...), I would like to point out that everyones favorite Redskin Chris Cooley often sports the popped collar look ... including at the latest mini-camp. I'd like to think he was being ironic (and perhaps he was at that moment), but I'm fairly certain I've seen other pictures that show him popping the collar as well. I'm not saying, I'm just saying.

I can actually understand the sentiment on some level. Probably not something you want to put out in the media though. I can only relate this to personal experience, which is different from Vince Young's obviously, but it's what I have to draw upon. When I was in high school all I wanted to do was keep playing football. I only applied to schools that contacted me about playing football, and I had really high test scores and could have gone to a lot of other places but I just wanted to keep playing. I ended up at a pretty good school (DIII, I was not particularly tall or fast or big) and started nine games as a freshman, but it was never really the same as playing in high school, never as much fun. Then the coach left - who kind of was a jerk anyway - and there was no offseason program to really speak of and I was sick of being so far from home so I transferred and never played football again. I never really regretted it or missed it (until years later) because that experience had sucked the fun out of football for me. Looking back I would have made some different decisions perhaps, but I was 18 and thought I had it all figured out. But in case anyone is still reading, I can understand how football can stop being fun and how you could contemplate quitting.

Now, if I was a Titans fan I would be worried. I'd see visions of Barry Sanders or Robert Smith and think that the franchise basically rests on Vince at this point and wonder how committed the guy really is. I also remember, though, that I saw an ESPN piece on Edgerrin James after his first or second year in the league and he said some of the same things ... and he's kept on playing. I don't suspect much will come of it, but probably something Vince should have kept to himself.
