I'm watching the Eagles-Rams game until I have to go to work in a couple hours, so far, Eagles have been really good. Desean Jackson caught a 47 yard deep ball on the second play of the game (Damn! Why can't our rookie receivers make a play like that?) and Brian Westbrook just scored a touchdown from 1 yard out.

Re: Around the NFL week 1

Wow Matt Ryan's first NFL pass is a 62 yard touchdown to Michael Jenkins.

Seriously, when the Skins' arent on, unless its something I really want to see...The Red Zone channel is amazing. It does all the flipping around for you, so you miss NOTHING its great......

and to me that Brady hit looked really nasty, so that could be something bad for NE.

Everyone and there momma is picking up Matt Cassel in their fantasy league.

Re: Around the NFL week 1

So who still doesn't believe Michael Turner would shine once he got the chance to start? Damn that kid is good.

And no I didn't see it coming, but for now it appears Matt Ryan doesn't have that rookie-itis that so many fellow rookie quarterbacks have. Then again it could be more a result of Detroit's shitty defense than Matt Ryan.

I wouldn't. The kid looked like crap in the preseason, which isn't saying much. He looked so bad many thought Matt G. would take the #2 qb job from him.

McNabb is looking every bit the elite quarterback he is lol, another deep ball caught by Greg Lewis for a 52 yard reception.

Desean Jackson looks good!
It's amazing how much separation he gets from DBs

Then again, The Rams look dead.

Hard to tell if the iggles are that good or the rams really suck but mcnabb looks damn sharp today.

I think the Rams are just really bad. Their O-line is horrible and they jumped offsides about 10 times. Not to mention the Rams secondary is not covering anyone.

I'm gonna have to agree.

Without Brady the Patriots offense is very ordinary all of a sudden.

Re: Around the NFL week 1

The rams offense is horrible.

I guess their ProBowl QB is having a hard time trying to figure out Our ExCordinators 700 page playbook.

rypper11 09-07-2008 03:15 PM

Re: Around the NFL week 1

The Patriots look worse than ordinary with Brady out. I don't think I fully realized the brilliance of Brady until seeing someone else run the offense. And it's against the Chiefs defense, not exactly what I'd call even an average defense.

Alright people, help me out here on the rule change for kickoffs...

I know teams can now defer until the second half. If the coin toss winner elects to defer to the 2nd half, who kicks off in the 1st?

Re: Around the NFL week 1

Eagles vs. Rams
The Eagles look good, but the Rams are terrible. The Eagles have always had a good defense, so add a healthy McNabb along with Westbrook, they're going to pound a team like the Rams.

Ravens vs. Bengals.
Joe Flacco is looking good out there. Although I must say that the Bengals are a bit of a mess. This game could go either way.

Jets vs. Dolphins
Dolphins are looking like crap out there. I see another losing season for them. Jet Favre is playing well.

Atlanta vs. Lions
Atlanta has amazed me a bit, I didn't think they had it in them. Then again it is against the Lions.

Pats vs. Chiefs
I never wish an injury on a player, but Belichick and the Patriots had it coming. I mean after a whole season of running up the score on teams, keeping Brady in during meaningless games, and sulking around at the entire NFL, I think its karma finally coming to bite them in the ass.

I think our WRs need to look at the tape from this game, and hopefully learn how to get open.

It's not the Eagles WRs getting open it's the Rams secondary blowing coverage like it's going out of style.

Ruhskins 09-07-2008 03:29 PM

Re: Around the NFL week 1

Holy shit! Joe Flacco just had a long run for a TD. Man the Bengals have hit an all time low when a rookie QB is beating you in the air and on the ground. Ugh, now I'm going to have to deal with all the Ravens fans talking about this all week.

It then becomes the coin toss losers choice, 99.9% of the time they will take the ball, since the team deferring will take the ball to start the 2nd half.

Pennington has the Dolphins on the move, a TD wins it for them

Re: Around the NFL week 1

DeSean Jackson is a PLAYMAKER. First drive catches a 47 yard pass to jumpstart the O, ends up with over 100 yards receiving plus a 60 yard punt return. He was on the board when Vinny just had to have another TE. That is as impressive a rookie debut of a WR playing the WCO that I've seen in many, many years. If he makes plays next week against the vaunted Cowboys CBs, then I'll be ready to concede that we should not have discounted the guy based on his size, or lack thereof.

But Ted Ginn Jr. f'ed it up so the Jets get the win.

Drew Brees is in my FF team, so I'm enjoying it this week. I must say that I hope the Saints D is not that great, I mean the Bucs are not a potent offense, but they were in the game until the end. So I hope our offense can avoid a ton of 3 and outs, and keep Brees on the sidelines.

Poor Brady. I feel as sorry for them as they felt for everyone they ran the score up on last year. Getting ready for the Browns and Cowgirls. I hope the Brownies kick their ass! I LOVE FOOTBALL SEASON!!!
