Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
ANyone watch the Carolina/Rutgers game? Brandon Jacobs was there and they interviewed him. They showed the layout on Landry, Jacobs comment was that he has Landry "tatooed" on his chest from that. Now, if Jacobs can last another few games before his fat ass gets on the IR, I think Landry is going to have a special "hit" on Jacobs. What an ass, I can't wait till his ass gets laid out. Damn I hate the Giants.

Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
Truth is Landry got his clock cleaned. Even if Landry wanted to return the favor the result would probably be the same given that Jacobs has 65 lbs on him.
|
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
At least that much. But don;t worry dirty 30 has got something his punk ass!
|
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
The twins part must mean you get two threads for the price of one..?
Bottom line it is what it is. In this league you give and you shall receive! And on that running play LL did get steam rolled by Jacobs, he won't go up that high again on that train again anytime soon, you have to be smart when your that out sized! |
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
Ehh, that comment doesnt bother me all that much...Jacob probaboly does have Landry tattooed on his check, he nailed him on that play. Thats nothing against Landry, but when you have someone the size of Landry, trying to hit someone the size of Jacobs head on, thats pretty much whats going to happen every time.
|
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
The truth hurts, Landry got pancaked.
|
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
It's just bulletin board material for Landry, nothing more. Besides, if Jacobs didn't run him over, that would be a story...

Well, Landry has "suicide mission" tatooed on his chest as a reminder of how to approach every game. Maybe Jacobs knows that and is alluding to it. Either way, when you truck someone to the extent Jacobs trucked Laron, you can talk a little smack. If you try to tackle Jacobs above the waist you are on a "suicide mission." |
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
I think Laron just aimed wrong. He tried to hit him too low and caught him in the hip and got steam rooled. I think if Laron aimed higher, the outcome would have been different. That in no way has shaken my confidence in Laron as a hitter. I thinkk Laron will use it as fuel.

I actually agree. As for Jacobs' comments, no biggie. I am, however, still pissed about him slapping Washington. |
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
LL is not Steve Atwater, if you recall on a smiliar play Atwater demolished the Nigerian Nightmare. LL got punked plain and simple. Love the guy but he lost on that play.
YouTube - Steve Atwater Hit him in the same place LL tried to hit BJ. |
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
Sean Taylor got ran over by Greg Jones senior year but he got him back. It happens. Just gotta move on.

LL did get nailed, but he hit BJ in his hips, not in his chest. |

You cant post stuff like that on this site. |

Exactly...it looked like he made contact with straight bone. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O820ahrjDy0[/ame] It still took him down too...but he may have just been tripped up. |
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
When Jacobs ran over Landry, I put my hand over my face and said "damn it, that's going to be on the highlights all season long". For Jacobs to say something like that, not only do I understand, I expect it. Landry is a GOOD player, it's not like he's some 7th round project, I'd be proud of the hit too. In fact, every last one of us would be!

Sean Taylor, god bless him, posterized many a men and it always brought joy to see players on the other team get squirm. Kinda sucks it's our player is the one doing the squirming. |
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
when sellers bowls over dawkins it doesnt get nearly as much replay time, oh well LL did get tattoed. Theres been many of times in college lax where a guy had a head of steam on me and i knew i was about to get run over but if your hard you meet them head on, no ducking or trying to get an angle on him. . . . it happens if your a hard hitter, some times you win sometimes you lose just depends on who has the momentum. i think LL knew he was about to get the worst but still stuck his head in there anyway and met him head on and for that he gets BIG TIME RESPECT.
go skins!! |
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
The only thing LL can do is suck it up and look for revenge next time out against NY.
|
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
i actually think this is good for the skins-giants rivalry, its been kinda flat since the days of the dave megget/phil simms era (man that was a sweet time for the nfc east!). . . . . and jacobs and landry should see alot of each other over the next 7 plus years.
go skins!! |

go skins!!
Totally! If your Landry, are you gonna' be a run stopper against the G-men or what? |
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
Laron should have Clinton show him how to decleat a player, he is the master decleater!!!
|
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
You know for landrys first action of the season...whatever he got stomped..i cant wait till he gets healthy and pissed and totally takes out reggie bush this week
|
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
Reggie Bush better hope Dirty 30 doesn't get a good hit on him or it could be injury city.
|
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
sigh if only doughty could take hitting lessons from landry
|
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
The one thing Doughty does pretty well is hit.
|
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
hey ive softened up on him lately :-)
He can hit, i just never see him punish anyone. |
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
Sometimes you're the bug, sometimes you're the windshield. But at least he kept his composture and grabbed his leg enough for him to go down.
hey ive softened up on him lately :-)
He can hit, i just never see him punish anyone.
Sometimes going for a punishing hit may lead to a missed tackle. I was just thinking that Brandon Jacobs in the end did not score any TDs against our defense. I mean we gave up a lot of yards that resulted in those 16 points, but he never got to endzone. I wouldn't be too proud of a performance like that. Great, so you ran over a player several pounds lighter than you, but did you get to endzone? No? Well then stop talking. |
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
Really a non issue. Jacobs won on that play and he won the game. Good job. I hope they get steamrolled by St Louis (won't happen, I know. Playing the Rams this season is close to a bye week). Last year starting off 0-2 lead to great things for them. Maybe 2-0 will lead to bad.
More relevant, why hasn't Jacobs sucker punching Washington gotten more media attention and shouldn't he at least get a fine? TO can't celebrate a TD but a NYG can punch a player after a play on national TV and it's ignored? |
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
Did anyone see the AMP'd segment on NFL Network. When NY Giants Tuck wason the side line talking to his teammates laughing at us only having 16 yards in the beginning of the second quarter. Then he said that was 16 yards too many. How embarrasing. Wow. I hope we beat the crap out of them next time. Hopefully we will improve against the Saints. The offense can only get better from last game. I guess that is the bright side.
|
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
jacobs should actually do something in the nfl before he talks trash too laron.

I saw it and was hoping that some or all of the Redskins players saw that too. I want blue blood from those bastards. |

Like what....WIN the Superbowl or something..? Hate the giants, but that train is a hell of a weapon, with a FAT RING! |
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
I dunno i didnt hear it on TV, i just read the OP and it sounds like maybe jacobs was saying that he has landry tattooed on his chest bc. LL left a nasty bruise on him from that hit, even though he trucked him.

I don't like the Giants, but Jacobs flat out steamrolled Laron on national TV. Not that I enjoyed seeing it, but fact of the matter is Landry got posterized. Jacobs deserves to talk a little trash. It's not like he cussed him out, insulted his mama, or dissed the Skins. Your second point about him not getting fined for punching Marcus has been bugging me all week. How he didn't get flagged AND fined for that is waaay beyond me. It was right in front of two officials too. |
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
jacpbs only ran him over cuz landry was feet planted and all that...
|
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
my man laron still made the damn tackle. get off his nuts mannn
|
Re: Brandon Jacobs comment on Landry
That is awesome. I love watching people get ran over, it sucks it was LL though. Doesn't look like LL had a full head of steam going into the hit either. Might not have mattered though. Jacobs is a beast.
