Week 4 Gameball

Jason Campbell & Jim Zorn

Daseal 09-28-2008 07:28 PM

Re: Week 4 Gameball

I've been shrugging him off, but Moss made a bunch of big plays. Campbell played great again.

Re: Week 4 Gameball

There were so many today. Springs was awesome in the first half against TO. The front 7 did an underrated job, holding the vaunted Dallas run offense to nil the entire game. Cambell is flourishing. Portis was a workhorse.

Suish hit all of his FGs. Special teams was sick- every kickoff or punt had excellent coverage (the pooch KO was a bad call though).

Re: Week 4 Gameball

Campbell for getting the game going and Portis for the cherry on top doing what Marion Barber does to everyone else.Finish the game.

Schneed10 09-28-2008 07:34 PM

Re: Week 4 Gameball

Campbell for one reason which stands out among many: NO TURNOVERS.

Redskins points off turnovers: 3
Cowboys points off turnovers: 0

Redskins margin of victory: 2

Need I say more?

Re: Week 4 Gameball

Campbell is setting the tone for the entire offense.

Big props to Zorn too. He's done a great job.

FRPLG 09-28-2008 07:37 PM

Re: Week 4 Gameball

Zorn is killing it right now. His play calling is simply right on. And in all honety we're simply executing what he calls too. It is just working for us right now.

Re: Week 4 Gameball

I thought about Portis, but there's no question when I think about how much this game meant to Campbell last year. Grats, Jason.

CRedskinsRule 09-28-2008 07:41 PM

Re: Week 4 Gameball

Every one of those guys deserve it. Horton had the interception but also on our last kickoff he contained Felix Jones. Campbell looks like a true leader, Moss was unreal, and Portis got the big runs right when we needed them. It was unreal.

jsarno 09-28-2008 07:42 PM

Re: Week 4 Gameball

Campbell and Zorn are the best two. Since Zorn is no option, I'll take Campbell by a landslide!

DynamiteRave 09-28-2008 07:42 PM

Re: Week 4 Gameball

I want to vote for all the guys. Horton Int was huge. JC is a leader on the field. Moss had a big day, so did Portis. But it all starts with JC. So he gets my vote.

I still feel like I could wake up at any time and it would have all just been a dream. The Skins are really playing so well. It's crazy.

Re: Week 4 Gameball

I went with Portis--121 in Dallas is gigantic, and allowed us to ball control Dallas off the field. He is a true warrior.

The whole team was great--everyone on that list should get game balls.

Think back how we all felt after the gints fiasco. What a difference!

Re: Week 4 Gameball

Portis Offensive MVP. Chris Horton Defensive MVP. Unsung hero goes to Kareem Moore, yeah you read that right, he was an absolute beast on special teams coverage I think he made almost every tackle, plus he got some reps on Defense too. I am really excited with what we have in Horton and Moore.

johnerotten 09-28-2008 08:02 PM

Re: Week 4 Gameball

i think you have to give it to the whole team, coaches, trainers, and all.

Re: Week 4 Gameball

Oh god if were only counting the players on the field that I have to go with Campbell, Moss, Portis, and Horton in that order more or less. They all played so great and I'm still so excited!!!

If we throw in Zorn then I think he's about tied with Campbell

Re: Week 4 Gameball

Campbell, AND GREG BLACHE. The D just.....got it done!

SkinFan4Life 09-28-2008 08:23 PM

Re: Week 4 Gameball

I would have to go with JC (2 Tds and No turnovers) on Offense and Springs on D for shuting down Big Mouth....and I have to give some props to the Rookie Punter....Great punts today and no muffs oh the Field Goals

SmootSmack 09-28-2008 08:33 PM

Re: Week 4 Gameball

Don't forget the great job that Bugel is doing with the running game. And whoever the genius on the Cowboys was to decided not to establish Barber. Even though we were stuffing him, only 8 carries is remarkable

Blache's call for Horton's INT was brilliant. The replay shows Rogers playing about 15 yards off the line and Horton sprints out wide (as a design) to make that jump. It was a tease to get Romo to throw over that way.

Re: Week 4 Gameball

Sounds cliche'd but I have to give the entire organization the Game Ball. Props to the front office for drafting guys ready to play right from the start. Props to the coaching staff for great playcalling on both sides. Props to all of the individuals for playing with a lot of heart; every single one them played with fire.

Horton may be permanent starter. He just makes things happen

Re: Week 4 Gameball

I can't believe im saying this...But Campbell Played like a man posesed He looked like the QB from Auburn they expected great things out of!!...J.C. Gets the ball today..

But Don't Leave out Santanna Moss, Portis, The O line, and the D For those bone crushing hits

Ruhskins 09-28-2008 09:10 PM

Re: Week 4 Gameball

I gotta go with the defense, stopping a high powered offense like the Cowpokes, and keeping their running game to 44 yds. And doing this with a banged up secondary and no Jason Taylor.

BleedBurgundy 09-28-2008 09:12 PM

Re: Week 4 Gameball

I went with Portis. His running was so key. He ran a lot more fluidly today than he normally does.

Re: Week 4 Gameball

There are at least a half dozen, in this HUGE VICTORY:

1.) JC (The next step has clearly been taken!)
2.) Moss
3.) CP
4.) Game plan/coaching staff
5.) O-Line
6.) Defense

Hell I guess I could just say the whole darn organization in no special order. HOW BOUT THEM REDSKINS!

I'm thinking Spings has got to be in there, as well as Rogers. It was TO NO GO all day long!!!.. They need some props!

I think it's pretty amazing how well we're covering people when our pass rush isn't exactly top notch. That really says a lot about our secondary.

Still, the team harrassed Romo enough and without JT.

zorn is killing it, and jason is leading the way... or do i have that backwards ;)

everyone's doing there part. i still think we should take el off punts and start horton from here on out, but another great game, and brooks looked much better.

I absolutely love Jim Zorn's exuberence!! It is such a lift for this team!!
And Jason has taken the next step!!
I am loving this!!
Dallas Sucks!!!

Did you see his Hip-Hip-Hip's at the end of the game.

That had me laughing seeing how intense he was yelling that.

I disagree. We almost got to Romo a lot. But I don't think we had single sack the whole game and only one or two knockdowns.

Yeah that's basically what I was saying.

Re: Week 4 Gameball

I voted for Jc but I would have voted for the off line if it was on the list,Except for the 2 early sacks they played very well, opening holes for Portis and Jc was under some pressure, but it was manageable pressure

I don't think I could say it any better. This was a team victory all the way. You're not dreaming Matty, this is for REAL brother!

Re: Week 4 Gameball

I give it to JC. He was simply outstanding today. To me it looks like he's starting to feel the rush coming. He's getting some pocket presence that Brady has. Stepping up to avoid the rush and making accurate throws when he's off balance. He's starting to look like a top NFL QB.

NYCskinfan82 09-28-2008 11:33 PM

Re: Week 4 Gameball

JC, Zorn and Blache for his defense

vallin21 09-28-2008 11:36 PM

Re: Week 4 Gameball

I gave it to Horton. The guy just makes plays when we need them most. We needed that pick to set up that field goal. He should be the fulltime starter.
