The last playoff game they won was like 12 years ago. These guys need to face reality.

That's a good column. I have felt for a while that this season was ripe for implosion - all it will take is a two-game losing streak at some point and the wheels will come off.

i feel sorry for wade phillips,he's just a puppett of jerry jones.if they sink, jason garrett will be the cowboys head coach next season.

that wouldn't be a good thing. garrett is actually competent.

..oh and wade phillips is about a biscuit away from 300 pounds. not bad for a tackle, terrible for an old man.

Is it not ......lovely that meddling Billionaire owner Dan, Danny bitch-useless tool Vinny, old tired outdated Joe are nowhere associated with articles like this anymore?

Re: Cowboys... WTF??

It's no coincidence most of our Cowboy members have made themselves scarce around here lately.

For Wade Phillips to be wishing out loud that they got more credit... Just shows they aren't focused and are not only reading their own press, but letting it get to them. I love it.

Granted, they are 4-1 and a damn good team, but I think they're on the edge of a slippery slope as far as in-house matters, and Wade isn't the kind of coach who can handle that.

Man oh man I hope they implode.

EDIT: With all that talent, imagine how good they'd be with our coaching staff pulling the strings? I'm glad our staff is on our sideline.

Re: Cowboys... WTF??

With all due respect to the suckitude of the Eagles offense, the Cowboys are the worst of the four teams in the NFC East right now.

They are 4-1, but if they finished 9-7, I don't think it would be all that surprising.

I mean, with 4 divisional games left, and the only one at home against a far superior Giants team, they might lose all of them. I mean, they also could go 3-1, but it's a realistic possibility that Dallas doesn't even get to the playoffs this year.

GTripp0012 10-08-2008 12:22 AM

Re: Cowboys... WTF??

Dallas also still has to play Pittsburgh and Baltimore, as well as Arizona and Tampa Bay. Every one of those teams is playing just as good as the Cowboys are right now.

Out of Dallas' remaining 11 games, they only have three opponents that they "should" beat: Seattle, San Francisco, and St. Louis.

GTripp0012 10-08-2008 12:24 AM

Re: Cowboys... WTF??

Meanwhile, we have 11 games to go, and 5 of them should be a dogfight. Not to get ahead, but the other 7 should be games we win.

Given all the evidence, I'd bet a large sum of money that we finish ahead of Dallas in the standings.

JWsleep 10-08-2008 01:25 AM

Re: Cowboys... WTF??

I wouldn't throw dirt on the cowroids just yet. They've got lots of talent-enough to beat anyone when they play well. Nothing is going to be easy on the NFC Beast.

I hate the cocky assholes and hope they do implode. But I bet it will be a fight til the end.

Re: Cowboys... WTF??

what about this part:

And speaking of baffling, T.O. was a non-factor Sunday until the late touchdown. He reacted by putting a towel over his head and weeping. Maybe I skipped sensitivity training the last eight or nine years, but when did it become acceptable for players to cry on the sideline? Is it a good sign that your star receiver is an emotional wreck after a win over the Bengals? Wait, don't answer that.

I hadnt heard that and I didnt see it,if it happenned seems like it would have got more play then it did

Even though he is a Cowboy, you gotta' show Wade a little love. Nobody else has been able to deal with JJ either. AND as far as Bum goes, he was a pretty good coach (and real good guy) when the Oilers were somebody in the AFC. AND, AND, as Jwsleep has pointed out, don't try to throw dirt on the boys to early.........
ON the positive side, TO (in perfect t.o. style) can't let the "don't throw to me thing" go as he was on the Michael Irvin show, and is still Digging a hole with his "ME" crap.
Beautiful!

Re: Cowboys... WTF??

If the Cowboys fail to make the playoffs this year, that's all on coaching. they have as much or more talent than anyone in the league. Philips really is showing himself to be an overmatched ass.

Journalists are like sperm.

One in 50 million of them have a chance to become a human being.

This is yet another article being critical just for the sake of it.

What makes it worse is that he shoots himself in the foot at the end by saying how much better the Giants are because they beat Seattle by 38. What he fails to mention is that the Giants had to go to OT to beat the Bengals in their previous game. Makes the Cowboys win look like a rout in comparison.

EternalEnigma21 10-08-2008 10:10 AM

Re: Cowboys... WTF??

Ill say that the bengals are a talented team. They're in disarray due to character, but its not like they can't win a football game. Taking NY into OT should prove that...

But I hate TO. I would love some evididence of him crying on the sidelines during a win, or a transcript of his presser. Anyone help a brother on a blackberry out?

I've been pretty much convinved after his "miraculous" recovery in which "god wants TO to play" that the dude's on roids. He admittedly works out for 15min a day and he has some very bizzare emotional outbursts.

@ Hess: I just thought it rude to open a 2 page thread in which people are actively discussing our rivals, most of us enjoying the press they're getting for once, and pretty much tell us to shut up. Downplay it if you like, but its rude. Just don't open threads you don't feel like reading...

Oh, and we do play them again by the way...

Sorry you think it's rude, but it is a discussion board and I can comment on your thread. It is my opinion that by discussing them all of the time you (and the media) make them more important than they really are and as a Skin’s fan, I don’t like it. Sorry.

You don’t see Dallas talking about the Redskins non-stop. They don't consider us that important.

Re: Cowboys... WTF??

Anyway, back on topic.

I just think it's funny that Dallas seems to be wilting under the pressure and it's only week 6. I think you've gotta point the finger at the head coach here. Wade by all accounts is a really nice guy but he's just not a crack the whip kind of coach. That team is full of superstar egos and there's simply nobody to keep them in check. Jerry Jones doesn't help either. He just wants to coddle these guys and stroke their egos. They're not a mentally strong team and when the playoffs roll around they will get exposed because of that... again.

This is why Jimmy was such a good coach for them. He commanded respect but he also was a players coach. He didn't constantly ridicule them and throw them under the bus and he didn't constantly blow smoke. They haven't had a good coach since then. Tuna is a good coach but his shit wears out and he is smart enough to see it and bails before chaos ensues.

EternalEnigma21 10-08-2008 11:53 AM

Re: Cowboys... WTF??

Its early here in DC, and still in the honeymoon phase, but I like that the players are quoting the coach and seem to soak up his philosophies. I accredit about 40% of any problem to any coach.

JJ pushes the buttons and throws the switches. You can bet any meltdown will have to fall at his feet. Bringing in all these bad character guys and a dough-boy cheerleader coach was his plan. I think he wants the players to run wild and re-live the glory days of debauchery while they win championships.
