Redskins vs. Lions predictions
I'm not sure if this will be the blowout that people seem convinced that the Skins need to have, but I do think the Skins will control the game from the start and build a comfortable lead. Portis with another big day on the ground. I really think the Lions could go winless.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
The points will come cascading down for the Redskins. Of course, with that, comes the risk of Campbell's first interception, and better field position for the Lions off of kick returns.
Redskins 38 Lions 17 |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
I think we'll have that first blowout win this weekend.
I'm going out on a limb and putting the score with the Skins scoring 45 and the Lions scoring 13. I think the D has a couple takeaways and gives us a short field to work with. |

Skins 24 Lions 6
I was looking at their schedule for the rest of the way. I think 0-16 is a real possibility. IMO their 2 best chances are this week against us and week 17 against GB. Detroit Lions Schedule I always think the Redskins next game will be the hardest of the entire schedule, thats why I think they have a chance to beat us. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
I think the Skins will dominate the game but the score will make the game appear closer than it really was.

i think it will be too close to call..but the skins ge thru this game by skin of their chinny chin chins.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
We blew them out last year 34-3.
Our team is better this year. Their team is worse this year. Yet my prediction is a one possession game until about midway through the 3rd when the skins will pull away. 31-15. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
I like the Skins 28-10. But Jason will have three touches and Mr. Portis will have a nice 154 yards rushing, pushing him closer to the 1,000 yard mark.

You know what, you're right. Unless the Skins completely fall apart, and based on the type of ball they're playing, I don't see how they should lose this game. |

Nobody knows that guy's name. He will always just be "that guy" who ran out the back of the end zone against the vikings (I think), thinking the play was still alive. (I'm going to the game) :woot: |

Skins 17 Lions 13
I agree it could be like the Browns game. We were lucky to escape with a win against the Browns and if we let the Lions hang around for too long they could beat us. Teams with nothing to lose can be dangerous and are more likely to go for it at the end of the game. Hopefully our offense can start finding the endzone more consistently. |

Somebody grillin? 'Cause - smell a FORTY-BURGER!!
Skins 42 Lions 6 No trap here. Our trap game was 2 weeks ago. Trap me once shame on you. Trap me twice... See you already trapped me once so you cain't get trapped again. See? The lions are going to get aggressive and that's going to be their mistake. If we don't bury them I'm gonna have some concerns. I saw the Rams game coming even though I picked the skins in this thread. (Who can pick against them after what they'd just done). This aint no trap game. This is what our guys have been waiting for. A stat padder. |

Yeah and everyone around here said the same thing about the Rams. You can never predict who is going to have some freaky turnovers. I bet this game is a lot closer than you think it's going to be. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
I still think we will struggle to get in the endzone. As much as I want us to score more than 30, I don't think we will.....but will come close.
Skins - 27 Lions - 10 |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
Skins win 2-0 on a London Fletcher forced safety and we're forced to listen to Bill Maas a lot more than we have to.
Seriously though, an absolute shame if we lose this one. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
I really dont even want to think of the "Any Given Sunday" stuff... like someone else said...this is the LIONS. I'm willing to chalk up one loss a season to an infereior opponent, but once you lose one of those games (Rams), I would think the team would learn their lesson and not slip up again. While the Rams are improving, if we have loses on our schedule to both the Rams and Lions...were really not a team that can seriously contend in the playoffs...
In any event, I was terrifyed all week long before the Rams game because of a letdown, but I dont think its giong to happen again. In fact, this is probaboly the most confident I've been in a game in a really long time. Redskins 31 Lions 10. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
The Rams and Browns are nowhere near the disaster that is the Detroit Lions. Look at what the Skins have done to some of the better QBs in the league this year. Does anyone seriously think that Dan Orlovsky is going to be able to make enough plays to win or even keep the game respectable?

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
Hey we almost F'd it up last week when we should've shut them out, And they played their best game of the season putting up 21. That being said we maintain focus and pitch the shutout we shoulda has last week 24-0
|
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
I can't make anything up this week, the Lions are that bad. Usually I try to find the strong spots of the opposing team and make a prediction based on their best outdoing our best. It just can't be done.
Orlovsky is no Jon Kitna. Rudi Johnson and Kevin Smith are averaging 4.3 yards/carry, but when you only average 78 yards/game, the Lions are running less than 20 times a game. They do have Calvin Johnson, but that isn't anything Springs or Rogers can't take care of. Their defense has more holes than swiss cheese, and teams are averaging 42% success on 3rd down. They have 1 interception in their soft secondary. Portis can't help but get 100+. Rock and Alexander will get mop up duty. Campbell will find open receivers all day. And the defense will squash any hope the Lions have. Skins 27 Lions 9 |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
I believe in this team, and can't see how they could mess it up(even with the last two weeks). I think Zorn tries to put it all together this week against an opponent that everything should work on. Bottom line score:
Skins 41 - 0 (i'm begging for the shutout) with most of the work done in the first half. |

CP will have a big game. JC will keep his streak alive. Jump out ahead early and rest some key players for the big Monday night game with Worthlessburger and the dude that looks like a chic with long hair.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
Skins- 31
Lions- 9 Portis blazes for another 170 yard performance with 2 TDs Campbell throws for 2 TDs and 250 yards and still does not throw a pick. Horton gets another Pick! Lions drive nicely a few times but our stingy red zone D holds them to 3 FGs. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
The Lions are the worst team in the nfl in every aspect. They are horrendous on both sides of the ball ranking dead last. On the year so far they have 85 first downs and are 19 for 72 on third down conversions. They have rushed for a whopping 466 yards while their opponents have rushed for 1005. Their total offense has amounted for 1590 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Redskins offense has totaled 2475 yards and 140 first downs. Their 0-6 for a reason. How can this game be close when our Defense stops them on third down ALL DAY LONG? Their punter will be exhausted by the end of this game.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
I think this game will be another epic fail for Detroit. I'm not looking past them, but we are simply a much better football team in every aspect.
Offense: I think Portis goes for over 100 and 2 TDs. I think Campbell goes for 250+ and 2 TDs. Moss has a 100 yard game, Cooley has 75 yards and TD. Inevitably a few of our drives will stall, so I think Suisham hits a pair of FGs. Portis is pretty nicked up right now, so I'd like to us have this one in hand early and get him some rest after the 3rd qtr. Defense: Orlovsky may get benched by halftime for Drew Stanton. Either way, we've got some fresh meat at QB for the D to feast on. We better get some damn sacks this week. I think we're good for a pair of INTs. I could see Fletcher snagging one because our pressure is going to force some short, hurried passes. I think Carlos or Laron will come up with a pick as well with Orlovsky trying to force a few balls to a well covered Calvin Johnson. They might not get 50 yards rushing in this one. In the end it will be a convincing win, 34-6 Redskins. |
