KGB released
Packers release Gbaja-Biamila, franchise's all-time sack leader
Bet the Eagles or Giants make a run for him. He's still good as a situational pass rusher. |
Re: KGB released
I hope we don't.

We don't need him. We have the potential to generate a good pass-rush if JT could get healthy. Besides, who would we cut to make room? |
Re: KGB released
hmmm..i had always wondered what happened to KGB i havent seen much of him the last two years. Anyone know why he was relased? Injuries?

VeT MiN BaBY!!! lol |

Tryon
That would leave us with 4 cornerbacks total, 2 of which are constantly missing time. No thanks. |
Re: KGB released
on NBC's Jim Zorn show, Zorn sounded like his hope was for Erasmus to have a big day. I sure hope so.
|
Re: KGB released
We're currently holding 6 defensive ends, so obviously any move would involve the release of a DE.
A move for KGB makes sense only if we feel he could start at DE next year opposite Carter. Our depth is too vast at the position to consider KGB for any other reason. Even though his strength is our team weakness, I just don't think he's good enough anymore to warrent a lot of interest. |

Definitely according to Zorn |
Re: KGB released
His career came to a screeching halt. He's only 31. Here's a guy who had 9.5 sacks last year, and suddenly this season he can't crack the starting lineup. He's been in uniform for every game this year, yet only has one start. Wow. I wonder if he's hiding an injury or something. What a drop off.

Like the inbreeders say, "If he aint good enough for his sister, then he aint good enogh for us". I don't care what the problem is, but we do not need him here. |

No question. We already scooped Erasmus James, Jason Taylor has yet to play a game at full speed, Demetric Evans has been solid, not to mention Andre. I know we need sacks, but no thanks on this guy. |
Re: KGB released
The ONLY way this happens is if
1. Someone on the Redskins staff is close to KGB 2. Cerrato and/or Snyder really want him. However with Evans, Jackson, James, Wilson, and Carter on the roster, it's very unlikely . With that said none of us really thought about Alexander but with an injury at a thin position and a player available that had experience with a coach we pounced on it. Still we do not have anything close to that situation so for all you Maddenites don't get your hopes up. |

If only... |
Re: KGB released
As a vested veteran Gbaja-Biamila is entitled to his full base salary of $6.1 million this season unless he’s claimed by another NFL team on waivers.
unless somebody else gets hurt on another team,i can't see anybody picking him up with6million dollars as a price tag! |

this is a winner. if it looks like a rat.... something stinks here. its not like green bay is leading the league in sacks. probably alittle more to it, then meets the eye |
Re: KGB released
would'nt surprise me if the vikes or the bears pick him up!they would get more out of the investment than any other team would.
|
Re: KGB released
Three years ago he was a stud and then he just dissapeared. I thought he had been traded.

Re: KGB released
I love how Giant's fans think they know it all.
|
Re: KGB released
not a chance we get kgb.
|
Re: KGB released
I doubt he comes to our division, the giants dont need him, the Eagles won't pay him enough, the cowboys and the redskins will not need them when the injuries are healed. I'd think he will end up in the AFC.

He had 9.5 sacks last year. But suddenly he can't seem to crack the starting lineup. |
Re: KGB released
It's not an all of a sudden thing for KGB...he hasn't been a starter on that line since the '05 season. He was used mainly on passing downs...his problem is he's a speed rusher that has lost his speed. Which means he's probably too slow to convert to LB or SS as well.
So unless someone is in desperate need of a DE right now, he'll probably retire and stay there. |

Re: KGB released
We have met the fat ass quota for the year, check out our punter. Leave KGB alone, GB has little pash rush and he wasn't playing, there's a big reason for this.
|
Re: KGB released
I wouldn't call KGB a fat ass...in fact at 6'4", 250, he might still be playing if he was a fat ass...
cdskins26 - look up a bit in the thread...GMScud listed his age as 31. |
