NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
Updated 11/25
NFL Mock Draft Database The database now lists 84 mocks for 2009 draft. Of those updated in November (42 Total), here is the position disbursement for the Redskins. DE: 20 Mocks DT: 10 Mocks CB: 6 Mocks OT: 4 Mocks LB: 4 Mocks This was approximately the same as last year, as most mock drafts, like many of us fans, know that defensive line is a weak point, but year in and year out, the Redskins fail to address it via the draft. The more recent Mocks have the Redskins slotted between 21 and 23. There is and will not be for sometime any kind of consensus pick for the Redskins. Look for that to begin developing around January. We will keep the updates coming as we make them. We will also be bringing theWarpath.net some draft coverage and some interviews with some of the draft experts like the guys at Draft Tek, Scott Wright, and maybe the guys from Scout, Chris Stueber. You won't miss out here at theWarpath.net. We will; also likely try and talk with Mel Kiper from ESPN, Jason LaCanfora from the Washington Post, Mark Maske from the Washington Post, and maybe Rich Gosselin from the Dallas Morning Call. |
Re: NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
I say our 1st pick whether in the 1st or 2nd round should be either a DE, LB or OL which ever position has the best player available when we pick. We need all 3 positions. Khari Campbell and Marcus Washington need to be replaced, we need a stud DE and a young G or T in the OL.

Unfortunately, we do not have a 2nd round pick. I believe that went to Miami for Jason Taylor. Worth it eh? |

I meant 2nd round if we trade down from our 1st round pick. |
Re: NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
all picks must be lineman. i really don't care what side of the ball. so far, H.B. Blades has been an adequate replacement
|
Re: NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
would love me some cushing from usc......absolute stud and pure strong side linebacker who can rush the passer and line up over the tight end.......best projected pick.......we can address oline after the first round
|
Re: NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
I like Alex Mack, center, from California. Big guy who is projected to start his rookie year at center or guard. He would be a good value if picked late in the first round. Centers are'nt usually picked that high but this guy has a tremendous upside.

Going to be interesting to see if for once this front office begins addressing both Lines. The offensive line is getting older. We can see it, we can tell. Rinehart is an obvious likely starter in the next two years. But, we need a replacement for Kendall and Jansen immediately next season. Rabach is not having his best season, but can be all right next year as long as we address Kendall and Jansen. Defensively, please give me a legit, young pass rusher, please, oh please! |

I'd love Cushing too, but I've heard he may go top 10... Being a Gator I'm pretty biased, but I'd be happy with Brandon Spikes. He can play middle or outside, and has great hands too. |

Aaron Curry would be ideal, but he will most likely be gone by our pick. I like Brandon Spikes as well, maybe Tyrone Mckenzie from USF in the 2nd round (if we trade back). |
Re: NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
1st round ...Peria Jerry DT Missisipi
and please no super soft Brian Cushing(Guaranteed bust, the most overrated OLB in the draft) |

Say it out loud, doesn't sound good. He'd be a great backup. I'm hoping for a guard in the first round, Duke Robinson from Okla, or Herman Johnson from LSU would both look good in B&G for 12 years or so. |

That Jason Taylor trade is going to come back and bite us. We're gonna need a lot of help filling holes this offseason, and a 2nd round pick is huge. I'm still annoyed we took 3 pass catchers with our first three picks this year.... We're gonna need to be fairly major players in free agency this year IMO. Anyone have a list of what significant players will be available? |

Database Updated tonight.

Re: NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
More updates today (12/2/08). The database traffic is starting to grow daily, which about this time it does. Redskins are being projected by the most updated mocks between 21 and 25 overall.
|
Re: NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
Updated this yesterday and will do some more today. The most updated mocks right now, the professional ones, are slating the Redskins between 14 and 15.

Re: NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
Good stuff. I still like Duke Robinson, but he's a lower third of the first round pick in my opinion. If we continue to go up to the middle of the first round then it may be worth going after a LB (I think there are some very good linebackers at the top of the draft), just in case we don't sign my man Dansby.
I think either way our top priorities this offseason should be offensive line and linebacker. |

Then they will not take Lineman and use the excuses that they traded down and their top lineman were off the board, lol. |

So you see us taking Jeremy Macklin??? |
Re: NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
Does toughness of competiton factor in in draft position? Because if so I think the Skins should come out picking before any other team that shares our potential records(9-7, 8-8, 7-9)
|
Re: NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
DT,or OT would be good for me

No second rounder. As of yet. We do need an OLB though. But maybe not the most pressing need at the moment. |

That made sense in a bad way. I say we trade some players for a second rounder and stay on plan by drafting lineman. |

Re: NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
I would like to know who the 6 IDIOTS are who say we should use our 1st rounder on a corner. I've heard of drafting to strength, but this is ridiculous. Hall will be re-signed and paired with Rogers as starters. Smoot and Springs will fight it out for #3.

Re: NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
no reason to call anyone IDIOTS IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! see don't like it do you MORON!!!!!!!!! FATHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think i made my point

Re: NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
You are obviously one of the 6. My apologies to you and the other 5. Idiot was rather strong. How about misinformed?

Re: NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
Not sure what to make of the Draft Database page. Why do so many predict we'll go defense w/ the first pick? And for a corner? Jeez, unless we lose Springs and Hall drafting a corner seems way unlikely. Yes, OLB is a need but we don't need a 1st round stud right off the bat unless Marcus gets the axe (admittedly i'm a Marcus fan so I don't want him traded - we're a better defense when he's on the field). Is really any need more obvious, more crucial, than RT or possibly C?
Frankly, if we don't get a franchise RT or C from this draft I'm gonna be left speechless for a good week or two. |

No, No, No. Vinny's policy specifically says no players with the same name as fictional characters from past Nickelodeon shows. Therefore we will not draft him. [YT]DjQrf_mG3-U[/YT] However in all seriousness a lot of it will depend on how much a team wants a first round center. The last two I can remember are Chris Spencer from the Seahawks and Jeff Faine to the Browns. However I felt like Ryan Kalil was better then both of them and he lasted until the middle of the second round. If he's available in the second round then we'll probably get him, assuming the rare possibility that we either get a second rounder for Carlos or trade back and get another second rounder. |
Re: NFL Mock Draft Database Updated
 I had no idea about the other Alex Mack Dirtbag. Mack isn't projected to be taken until the 2nd or 3rd round so if we could get a good OT in the first and somehow move up and get Mack, that would be great.
