DCPSR Player of the Game
Ok Warpath, you came through big for us last weeek, giving us over 130 votes for the DC Pro Sports Report's Player of the Game.
Let's do it again. |
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
DeAngelo Hall.... solid coverage almost all game, had 1, should have had 2 picks, almost had a 3rd .... dude played really well and should be sharing starting time, and def. be ahead of Smoot on the depth chart

I agree 100%. The guy has proven to me that he deserves a spot on this team next year. |
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
Hall. An INT and an almost INT (if Springs hadn't gotten in the way). The little bright spot in a bleak day.
|
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
Got to be Hall. 2 tackles, 2 assists, an interception, should have gad two if Springs did not collide with him, and 2 pass deflections. Only one that showed up to play today in the secondary.
|
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
I thought it was close with Hall and Cooley. Hall was robbed of a second INT by Springs. Hall is showing he wants to be here next year.
Cooley had a good game. I thought Clinton Portis had a low yardage game. However, he played hurt and had few holes all day. The dude is a true warrior. Heart of this team. |
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
untill he gets greedy again.
|
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
I'll give it to Devin for getting his first NFL TD. I'm too pissed off to give anyone else credit, although Cooley had a solid stat line.
|
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
Smoot sucks, got burnt multiple times.
|
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
What's the point? Every player on the team got wupped when it counted. I vote none.
|
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
How the fuck do you give a game ball to a losing team????? This is retarded.
|
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
If this (player of the game poll for the losing team) is what DC Pro Sports Report is going to bring to this message board no thanks, again this is retarded.

Sorry you feel that way, but we don't mind trying to recognize a player that did show up and do his job, compared to the rest of the team. If you feel that way, fine, don't vote, but for me, I though DeAngelo Hall played very well and deserved my vote as the Player of the Game for the Redskins in a losing effort. |
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
Sorry for being so harsh (pissed off about the game) but seriously does this not seem kind of stupid? Especially in a game where we got blown out.
Have we done this in the past??? |
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
if u feel none, just say none, dont knock some one else for posting the thred ya dig?
|
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
hall has so far been a good cheap pick up
|
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
I was going to go with Hall but he also got flagged for a late hit and missed a tackle or two...Im happy with him, dont get me wrong but I'll give it to Horton. He's a 7th rounder that plays consistently week after week and he helped keep the giants run game in check and is always around the ball.

Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
Thomas. His number was called and he executed for the TD. Liked the effort near the goal line as well...
|
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
I threw Cooley some props for being his typical solid self.

Where's the "censored by spence" when you need it. This is just an ignorant, rediculous post. |

While I do agree it may seem kinda silly to be talking about game balls after a performance like that, recognizing positives (as well as screaming about negatives) are something coaches and players do every week in film study. As fans, even in a bad loss, it's not a big deal to give props to those individuals who played well. That said, I don't think there is a single player or coach who felt like we gave a good team effort today. |

I'd have to argue that. My vote is for this tool.
Sorry Sean... redskins just spit on your memory 2 years in a row
|

yeah that takes it in a landslide |
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
I went with Hall, and recognizing solid or outstanding play, even in a losing effort is always worth it.
also, does Shawn Springs get the bonehead award for his great defense of Hall's non-INT. |

For the record I apologized in a later post. I was really more upset with the Redskins players then this poll and I voted for Hall. I just think that we could have done a poll on something diffrent considering the out come of this game. Looking at the size of this thread I would think most people agreed with me. Again, I apologize for the outburst. |

In the future it's probably best to just not say anything. |

BTW- I never attacked anyone in this thread I was just attacking the thread but you can call me a douche. Must be nice to be the king.

Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
Thanks for proving my point.
|
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
Hall easily. He should've had 2 picks but Springs got in his way. We need to lock him up next year.
|
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
back to point, I voted horton. He played the run extremely well yesterday... and when he blew up a lineman and brandon jacobs at the same time in the backfield it was absolutely beautiful. He's playing some great football. He did take a bad angle on Jacobs but had the sense to re-set and stop him before a first down when jacobs bounced outside once, but he is really strong in run support.

I agree that we should sign hall. I'd want to see a clause in a contract about not acting like a total Ftard, but he can still play well, and we actually have a DB who can catch... its nice :P |

i said this in another thread ill say it here: d hall is not the answer to replacing springs, we should look elsewhere. in oakland he said he was trying to jump routes to much which may lead to some ints but it also leads to some unnecessary completions. trying to play off a receiver to bait a qb into a throw can be helpful sometimes but it is a "me" attitude not a team first thing. i cant see coach blache teaching this or allowing his players to decide how they should play. when it works great but its one of those things that it'd better work or your ass is grass. kinda like a qb audibling out of an important play; itd better work or else . . . the PF on hall also showed that he is a hot head who loses his cool when hes made to look stupid and puts personal satisfaction over team success. it seems every week now we have an unnecessary PF, our players need to focus. d hall is the player we were told he was when he came here, dont let the ints fool you, he is a liability and doesnt play redskins brand football. |

I agree the guy plays to win, Redskin brand football is all about losing. Cut the guy. |

Thank you ...I was kinda confused also. Why are we doing this poll. maybe it should read who should we keep next year or who showed up to play? |

I agree the guy plays to win, Redskin brand football is all about losing. Cut the guy.
yeah i forgot hes been on some many winning teams before he came here and we didnt start winning games until he got here . . . nah maybe your right, with some many other problems to talk about maybe i should hold off on my personal opinion of hall until the end of the year since he is making nfl chump change for his services this year. i just dont want to see him get a fat contract because we have been interception deprived for years and he plays off receivers and can catch poorly thrown balls. but your right, given his K amount this year and few games hes played i should probaly hold off on bashing him until atleast the off season. |

If you want a 32 year old running into your teamates when they have clean ints and getting injured because he got "kicked in the calf" then go ahead and watch your "Redskin brand football" I just don't see the "me" attitude in Hall while he's been with the redskins. |
Re: DCPSR Player of the Game
have we fallen in love with d hall already?
he did a great job of hanging onto the ball yesterday but the fact is he was behind the receiver and the receiver had to not catch the ball for it even to get to him . . . yes he gets credit for playing tight coverage there but if the receiver had been looking for the ball and caught it it would be a reception. (haha obviously) his other ints were poorly thrown balls where he was behind/off the receiver either in zone or poor man play. i dont think he would be a good no 2 corner compliment to carlos or worth the money he wants next year. good thing we didnt give JC "eli" type money 6 weeks in when alot of people were talking about a K extension. seems im the only one not feelin hall as a long term member to our franchise so ill shut up about it. a few ints and we overlook or discount his bad plays . . . . |
