4th Quarter Season predictions

Really simple, all you doom and gloom folks (and us stubborn realists) put it out there for everyone to see. What's your prediction for the last 4 games?

4-0
3-1
2-2
1-3
0-4

(Mods, poll please)

I'm on record for 3-1.

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

2-2. I think we lose to Baltimore and Philly.

I'm typically ultra-optimistic but I just don't see it now.

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

It seems like teams have figured out how to bring pressure and we just can't figure it out.

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

1-3, only win against Cincy and it is a close game. At the start of the season most of us predict 9-7 or 8-8 looks like that is how we will fall. Another hum drum season comes to an end. So sad.

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

The last two years we squeezed out 4 in a row hell why not now!!! 4-0

our playoff chances don't look good right now.

last 4, 3-1

Lose to ravens. Miss the playoffs at 10-6

2-2. I think we lose to Baltimore and Philly, a close win over CIN, but we blow SF out of the water on the road, giving us optimism for the future.

Lose to ravens. Miss the playoffs at 10-6
I believe if your prediction here is correct, we will get the sixth seed. Maybe Atlanta will get to 11-5, but if so, I feel it will be at the expense of one of the other NFC South teams.

Dallas controls their own destiny, but I don't think they are as good as any of the teams they play in the final four games. I think even if they can beat the Steelers this week, they will be lucky to go 2-2 in December. I think we could finish 2nd in the East if we can beat Philly.

I thought we would go 3-3 the last 6 games and sticking to that. Think we lose to Balt and Philly still.

It's gotta be 3-1 at a minimum, we may even get 4-0, but the Ravens will be a hard one to win. We will end the season at a minimum of 10-6

2-2 with my fingers crossed for 3-1 or better.

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

in our preseason record poll i guessed we'd go 8-8 give or take a game based on shazamm hitting or missing a late fg with us needing a late season run to make the playoffs. (reason for going 8-8 and not lower b/c of new HC is b/c we have a solid to great D core which would keep us in games)

this is a typical redskins season and this year is no different. if i had to predict the skins record for 2020 it would be 8-8 give or take a game and needing a late season push for the playoffs. we are who we thought we are to use coach green's over-used adage.

ps - i didnt predict us needing 10 wins for a wildcard spot, thats just crazy but a growing reality.

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

2-2 at best (lose to Balt & Philly) but I can see 1-3 with a loss to SF in SF if the Skins are officially out of the playoffs.
It seems like teams have figured out how to bring pressure and we just can't figure it out.
And that's the big question. Can we figure it out? That will make the difference between 1-3 and 3-1. It just seems that, at some point, Zorn & Co. will find a way to make teams pay for stacking the box.

All this being said, finishing 2-2 will leave us at 9-7, which is a terrible dissapointment after the 6-2 start. But optimistically, 9-7 will mean the Skins will have back to back winning seasons for the first time since 1997, and the first time they've won at least 9 games in back to back years since 1992.

So at least there's that.

I predict 2-2.

2-2,lose to baltimore then to sf in an upset, miss out on playoffs

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

I can't figure the best thread to post this, I know it has been said in several, but here are the records the teams we have lost to:
NY Giants (11-1) Division Leader (2 losses)
Pittsburgh(9-3) Division Leader
Dallas (8-4) (Split 1-1 on season)
St. Louis (2-10) last place (Our loss came after their bye AND first game with a new head coach

So, we are not elite, but at the same token, other than Baltimore we have no reason to think we won't beat the other 3 teams on our schedule. Yes the wins haven't been pretty, but they have been wins.

GMScud 12-01-2008 02:27 PM

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

2-2 I think. Given the power shift in the conference over to the NFC South (anyone who still thinks the East is better is smoking something), I believe we're gonna have to win out to make it. And that isn't going to happen.

I'm not even thinking about the playoffs at this point. I'm doing my best Jim Mora, Sr. imitation. I'm just thinking about how we're going to score a single point against Baltimore's D. We stink at night on National TV. However, we aren't playing at home, so we may actually win.

CRedskinsRule 12-01-2008 03:26 PM

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

Also, all the teams we have beat have a 7-5 or worse record (except Dallas), so I think it is fair to say, we are what the record says we are: an above average team, that wins against the lesser opponents, and loses to the better teams. With that in mind, we will probably lose to Baltimore, but we will win the other three. (We could beat Baltimore, just like we beat Dallas once).
Bad thing is, that doesn't bode well if we do make it into the playoffs :(

GMScud 12-01-2008 03:32 PM

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

Before the season I said we were most likely an 8-8 team. When we sat at 4-1 and then 6-2, I scoffed at my preseason prediction. Now I'm reverting and giving myself a little more credit. Unfortunately I think we'll only beat my prediction by 1 game at best.

SBXVII 12-01-2008 11:11 PM

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

It's coaching sabatoge.....we will end up 7-9 and get a decent position in the draft. about middle of the road. Only cause we are not Detroit.

just kidding. The way we have been playing I don't know. We have been playing to the level of our opponent up until last weekend with the Giants. When I say that I mean we played Dallas hard, Pitt hard and several other teams but looking at the Cardinals, Rams and Detroit we played to their level. So having said that and no offense...I can see 7-9. Baltimore will win. They have the better defense. We play terrible when playing better defenses. The Bengals know how to put points on the board. Simply look at how they played the Giants. Depending on which 49er team shows up ....more then likely the Monday night 49ers and they will score more even though they look horrible doing it. We might beat the Eagles. I'm not sure but the Eagles need to even the score with us and so far we have not been good in the division the second time around.

We are probably somewhere between a 7-9 team and a 9-7 team to be honest.

3-1 at best, 1-3 at worst. So I'll go with 2-2, with losses to Baltimore and Philly.

yeah, that's because Philly can be truly a great team that posts 48 points or a really shitty team that scores like the Redskins and plays flat depending on what headcase-trainwreck Dono does on any given Sunday. he seems to have gotten his head back so... w/ good Dono Philly is a better team than we are. Bad Dono, Philly is one of the worst teams in foosball...

it's science.

I had to go 1-3 also. I truely believe we can win atleast one more game, but not sure who it will be against. If nothing else some idiot shows the players this poll and it ticks them off and they go 4-0. Will that happen ...no.

But it would be badass :)

I really think Baltimore, Philly and SanFran are losses for us. Cinci is questionable.

Cincinnati - Win
Philadelphia - Loss
San Fran - Loss

1-3

3-1.... loss to Eagles. They will beat Baltimore to restore hope, then lose to Philly, finish 10-6 and not make the playoffs. Still a good season. Kelly and Thompson have to step up in 09.

I agree with this, I think teams that can effectively blitz are going to make this team look bad until the o line figures out how to protect Jason Campbell. It's amazing to me that no replacements have been made, but I have confidence in Jim Zorn and trust his judgment (even if I disagree).

Anyway, I think the Ravens have a good chance of absolutely destroying the Skins and Philly may win by a margin of 10 or more, but I think a 10 point win over the 9ers and a 20 point win over the Bengals will lead to a 9-7 record.

If you had told me Zorn would lead this team to 9-7 at the beginning of the year, I would have been pleased. Nothing will change once I get over the fact that the strong start was wasted.

3-1 ..... Skins lose at SF and get eliminated from the playoffs on the final weekend of the season. I hate to say it, but with the way things have been going, I just see it happening.

2-2. We lose to Baltimore and Philly. No playoff this season.

Unfortunately, we're fading at the finish. Stop Clinton Portis and this team has no other significant offensive weapons.

Still 9-7 is far better than many thought for a rookie coach.

I went 1-3. Loss to Bmore, Loss to Philly, and a loss to Cinci. Everyone wants to dog Cinci, but they've almost beat a lot of very good teams this year.

i could see us going 2-2 at best....baltimore, philly, and SF have pretty good defenses.....weak teams such as the bengals always give the redskins trouble

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions

I hope the pessimism of this thread does not come true. Take out Baltimore and every other team is a should win game. Cinci and SF will have packed in their seasons, Heck Cinci may have an empty stadium. Philly should be imploding (of Course JoeRedskins thread may have given them life  ) . Baltimore is the only team that we play that has a reason to play this season. 3-1 but I voted 4-0(which can happen) to balance out the local pessimists.

Maybe we'll lose to Cinci, maybe we won't, but if we're on a two game losing streak, they aren't exactly going to sneak up on us.
