What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
I have to give it to the Atlanta Falcons they are playing hard for a playoff spot, looking great with the rookie QB at 8-4!!!!

Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
Giants, rock solid top to bottom.
|
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
Atlanta was my 1st choice so I'll go with my second choice, Miami. They were a joke last year and have 7 wins (the same as the Skins) this year. Also they may have created a new offensive trend with the Wildcat.

Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
1) giants to me only b/c i really doubted they could build off their run from last year and i thought their secondary would be tested and exposed leaving them like the broncos; great offense but an achillies heel on defense. I was wrong, spagnola found ways to use his strengths on D to cover up for their weaknesses. I also thought with usi and strahan done they wouldnt even have a commanding advantage on the D line. i was wrong again.
2) atlanta - have not watched a single game this year but their record and consistent offensive output is there week after week. good for them with the whole vick and paterno coaching thing. 3) redskins - coach blache and the D has played better than expected. while i dont really dig our style/approach and they have not really shut teams down they get the job done week after week. if only we could kick this new trend of allowing teams to pick up 3rd downs. |
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
The Giants have not impressed me. One of two things was going to happen...either play strong agian this year which they are doing or completely bomb.
I would have to say for me it's Atlanta. New coach's, new system, and new QB and they are 8-4. They score more then 7 points a game and sometimes more then 20. I can't for the life of me figure out why with all the "talent" we supposedly have on this team why we are not scoring TD's like them? We are basically in the same boat as them except for the QB situation and they are better then us. I'm at a loss. |
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
Giants by far. The Falcons and the Dolphins weren't expected to do much but they're winning. Not really sold on the Titans. Good team but I don't think they can beat the Giants.
|
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
Giants, I thought the Giants would have a good team this year but I did not expect them to go 11-1. Little Eli has really grown up and just over a year a go people wondered if he could make it in the NFL.

Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
i have to say the detroit lion looks very impressive at the moment,:)..
i know smack me but i have to go with the team that spanked us yesterday..the giants they are solid throughout and it shows even without plexico....so they look very impressive to me thus far..the falcons aint half bad either or the ravens which we play next..alot of parity this year.. |
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
I hate it but the Giants are the best team in the NFL. It could be worse as long as its not the F N Cowboys
|
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
G-men, they are sick
|
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
In my opinion it's the Falcon's in a slam dunk. I mean it's not even close.
Everyone knew the Giants were a great team before the season started. So sure they are very impressive, but they're also defending champs. They'll likely be playing the NFC Championship game in the Meadowlands this year, but this thread asked which team impresses me the most, not what team is the league's best. Atlanta has a new coach, a rookie QB, and was picked by most people to be the worst team in the league this year. They were coming off one of the worst off-field disasters in NFL history with the Vick thing. All they've done is go 8-4 in the league's best division right now. They are a legit team on both sides of the ball, and Matt Ryan looks like he'll be one of the best QBs in the game for the next 10+ years. They are exceeding expectation by leaps and bounds. If you would have told me in the preseason that heading into week 14 the Falcons would be 8-4, I would have told you to go jump off a bridge. And watching the way their D gets after the QB makes me so jealous. Sigh... |
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
Giants impress me the most.. Falcons surprise me the most.
|
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
Giants impress me the most.....Falcons surprised me the most and the chargers are the biggest disappointment
|
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
Is the criterion what team is all around the most impressive or what team has most exceeded your expecations? For the former, wow, I don't think I have been as consistently wrong about a team over a two year period in any sport as I have been about the Giants. I didn't think they'd make the playoffs last year, I didn't think they would beat Tampa, Dallas, or Green Bay, and I thought they'd lose by 40 to the Patriots, I thought they would take a major step backwards this season, and I thought they'd lose last weekend. I am finally coming to terms with the fact that they are one of the great teams.
As to the latter, Atlanta is great but if you had told me in August that Vince would be essentially deactivated and Tennessee would be 11-1 I would have thought that was pretty crazy. Also, how about Miami? They are proving what you can achieve when you don't beat yourself (the Chargers would be the inverse of that). All in all it's been great this year to see some of the old powers fade. This is the first truly wide open season in a long time. Lovin' it. |
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
Our opponent this week, the Baltimore Ravens.
|
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
I would have to say the Giants. The Jets impressed me until last game they played.
|
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
This is kinda close for me.
- Giants for obvious reasons, they are the Patriots from last year. - Falons, didn't they have a QB that used to run, instead of pass?....what was his name. - Redskins, we are not supposed to have the record we have. Long way to go. - Dolphins, what a difference a good GM makes, and Chad P is the QB??? That's a suprise! |
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
It has to be the Falcons. Looks like a brand new team down there in Atlanta. MIchael who?
|
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
I didn't think the Bucs would be 9-3 at this point.
And I'm "impressed" with just how awful the Jaguars have been this year. |
And I'm "impressed" with just how awful the Jaguars have been this year.
You and me both. They've played decent ball, however they aren't closing games like they did last year. And considering their leading receiver is a guy who was an outcast last year and himself even considered retiring... Since several teams have been mentioned, I'll throw the Jets out there. Granted, it helps picking up Brett Favre, who is an improvement over Chad Pennington (Just don't tell Miami that), Thomas Jones is having a career year (on pace for 1450 yards, 15 TDs), and their defense has been very stingy against the run (Ranked 4th). They are leading a division that was supposed to be Pats 1, Bills 2. |
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
The Steelers have impressed me the most.
The are committed to their scheme, year in and year out. The play hard and don't panic. They play the first 3 Qtrs of a ball game with urgency not b/c they are trailiing but b/c they know its football and anything can happen so they play F'N hard. Unlike us from coaches on down it only matters on our LAST possesion. Prevention to not let it come to that is a reflection of coaching maturity. They have a QB that is able to keep playing after being run down by grandmom. They are able to dump Burress/ARE into FA and still win with a HOF in Ward and Holmes who can also return punts ..something we haven't witnessed since BMitchell days. They NOW have the best safety in the game b/c ours was slain. If only we kept RClark maybe we could have used LL like Polamalu just roaming and making plays. ANd worst of all they generate a pass rush for their loyal fans who show up to any game. Its long been my Pick Steelers in the Super Bowl this year too bad my other choice the Skins wont see them. Please for the love of all the Gods dont let the Giants/Cowboys be there instead |
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
The Titans probably. I've never paid attention to them until this season. They're always the "fly under the radar" type of team and then all of a sudden, boom, 10-1.

Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
The redskins have impressed me...for these reasons, because only they could have muffed a six and two start, for only they coul suck as bad as they have at home, and looked like they were going to implode at any minute while being dumbfounded.
Only we could spend so much money, waste so many picks and make stupid trades and hire a zillion different coaches. To be on the cusp of being a playoff team that actually gets respect for the past five years with "talent" and "great coaching" and guys that "fight their guts out" its impressive to see the dan shell out money year after year and to stil have a great fan base for it only to end in dissapointment. Only the redskins could sign an all world de like taylor and have him not make a drop of impact in the pass rush. Only we could have a shawn springs do his impression manny ramirez by not playing half the season and netting a nice nice paycheck. only the redskins could have everyone begging for a quaterback change every year and when they get it they go to the next on the list. the list goes on and on. Im just impressed that our owner gets all these players has a team all this time, and for some reason we are always just "almost there" Its been like that for a very long time. Just enough to make us salivate for next year with hope that if we buy our tickets and take off work to watch the game..this could be the year... to be able to be that good at being bad is impressive. |

Good call. Since mid-October, Joe Flacco has the highest QB rating in the league. That's nuts. |

How we came back from down more than a touchdown against the Eagles and Saints. How, inspite of playing large chunks of the season without Shawn Springs and Jason Taylor and with a 7th round rookie starting at safety, we still have close to a top 5 defense. How Clinton Portis ran for 175 yards on the Browns, who have held the leading rusher to under 80 yards 7 times this year. How Jason Campbell didn't throw a single interception for the first 8 weeks of the season. How under a first year coach we are 7-5, which happens to be the best record we've had after 12 games since 2000. |

Good post. That's puts a nice perspective on what we've achieved. I wish I didn't have so much gosh darn anxiety over the offensive line. |
Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
The Giants have impressed me the most so far, but the Falcons have been the biggest surprise. The only non-surprise for me on that team was the emergence of Michael Turner, then again even I didn't think he was going to be this good. Either way I'm going to try to find a way to get tickets to that Atlanta/Washington matchup next year.

Re: What Team Has Impressed You The Most So Far?
Giants look unbeatable all the way. They are a solid team from top to bottom.
I didn't think they'd be this good after winning the SB. Falcons with a rookie QB. Who would have thunk it! As far as the Redskins are concerned, I think they are doing better than almost any but the biggest homers thought they'd do. This was always a building year and we'll need some very good draft and FA selections to improve for next season. |
