I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
Eventhough the Dallas Cowboys are 8-4 I honestly dont see them making the play-offs. It might come down to a tie breaker between the Redskins and Dallas though. This is why. I dont think they will be able to handle the last stretch of games because all of the Defense coming at them are tops in the league.
There remaining games are against Pitt, NYG, Bal, Phil. At best they will be 10-6. But I think all of these teams can beat Dallas. I definitely see 2-3 loses here. Hopefully they atleast lose to NYG and Phil that would help us the most. The thing is. If there is a tie breaker with Dallas we would have to win in. The only games that bother me are Baltimore and Philly. If we lose to Baltimore..it doesn't hurt us as bad because its a non conference game. But we can't lose to Philly and we "should" be able to beat Cincy and SF. No game is a definitely though. But if we can get a win against Baltimore. it could possibly set us on a winning streak like we have had 2 out of the last 3 years... |
Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
I hate to be a nay-sayer, but I don't see us beating Baltimore; as much as I would love to see it, it's not going to happen. I work in Baltimore, and have nothing but Raven fans in my office, I feel like a sheep in the middle of a pack of hungry wolves.
Already, the Ravens are favored by 7 points, Giants were only favored by 3... and we all know what happened there. To your point though, yes, there is a slim chance we get in; and obviously if we are in, Dallas is not. |

I dont think they are even close honestly. I dont think its a slim chance at all. Look at the remaing schedules of other teams in the play-offs. We jsut need to winout. Which I dont think it impossible. i fear Philly more than I do Baltimore. I think Baltimore is a little over-hyped right now. Oh and to your point if we are in Dallas is obviously not..is not necessarily true. We had three teams from the NFC in the play-offs last year. |
Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
We have an honest shot against the Ravens As long as we don't turn the ball over and hold to 1-2 sacks we should be in good shape. Their offense is fair not great. Our defense should run on them.
|
Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
Ravens are overrated and their record is inflated because they have the easiest schedule in the history of the league. They haven't won a game this year against a team that was over .500 when they played.
The game will be close. |

We can't score points. The way we've been playing I'm not sure we can beat Cinci on the road. Baltimore is considered a favorite and is going to be a real tough one. We haven't played well at all against top D's. I think it's funny that there's alot of should wins out there. The only "should win" out there is Detroit. We beat Det by 8 pts when everyone else was blowing them out of the water. That should tell you something. |

Well our O is nothing to be scard of right now. I think we can win but I think t will come down to which teams O can but up some decent points. |

With that said the Skins controll their own destiny at this point they have to win and hope for some other tems to lose. |

I still say they lose atleast 2 of those last 4 games. I can see any of those teams beating Dallas. If Giants sit their players then that probably willbe an easier route for Dallas. But if not. Its not going to be that easy. As far as the should..that's better than say we "ARE" going to beat them. |
Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
We have a decent shot at beating the Ravens, we look awful to the naysayers simply because we cannot beat the elites, we have beaten every one else. Baltimore is not elite yet. To the point of this thread, if Dallas wins out, then they deserve :vomit: to be in the playoffs, because their last 4 games are brutal. I think they lose 2 more, and we win out. Atlanta continues to be the wildcard.

Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
I hate Dallas but think they will make it.
Unfortunately, I think we will lose to the Ravens. I hope I'm wrong but we are really fading as a team. 42 points in the last 4 games is just not good enough. |

I think they will beat the Steelers this week, but lose to the Giants and Ravens at home, setting up a situation where they have to win at Philadelphia in order to make the playoffs. |

And about Detroit, I know we "only" won by eight points, but we had a two TD lead on them in the second half, and their offense (when it was at it's best this season, under Orlovsky) managed to cut the lead to a single score with the help of an illegal pick no call. So yeah, while going into the half trailing by 4 against Detroit is embarrassing, we played every bit as well in the second half of that game on both sides of the ball as you would have expected us to, and I would say we blew them out in those 30 minutes. Perhaps our only blowout was the season Detroit was, but I don't want to take away what they accomplished there. |

I do understand the formula in determining who goes to the playoffs. I'm saying that if we are going, I certainly don't see Dallas going. "If" we go, it is more than likely in the 6th seed; Falcons are taking the 5th seed. We out Dallas by tie-breaker. |
Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
A lot about the Cowboys will be revealed this Sunday playing at Pittsburgh in what is forecasted to be miserable weather (wintery mix is what they are saying).
If Dallas squeaks out a win at Heinz Field, I might be more able to believe they will make the post season. But if not, I seriously doubt they play in January. In the NFC I can honestly envision some 10-6 teams not making the playoffs, so 11 wins is the magic number. |
Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
We lost to STL at home. I still can't get over that. If Dallas plays to their potential they can make the playoffs. When you can score points like they can then they've got a shot.

Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
Tampa Bay or Carolina are mostly likely going to have the 5th seed. Right now I would say that Atlanta has the better odds of finishing 2-2 in the next four games (giving them a 10-6) than the Cowboys, who have a pretty tough schedule. The Skins would have to go 3-1 in their last four game to get to 10-6 and would need for Dallas and Atlanta to lose, I just don't see that given our offense.

Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
we cant score points no touchdowns no field goals no long plays no long drives LOTS of 3 and outs?Iam not saying its all on cambell but if he didnt get hurt last year we would have gone 7_9 instead of 9_7 we cant win with him. but we sure as hell can win without his sorry ass the problem is he may hold the starting job next year as well!!
|
Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
Why not? Dallas will make the playoffs. The only thing that will derail them is another Romo Boo-Boo.
|
Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
jason cambell was the best player for the giants last week he did NOTHING!he played well in a few games but this is the nfl we need a better QB you have collins put him in before its to late. its already to late
|
Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
dallas has a good team they will make it in then get smashed in the playoffs.it looks bad for us but we can still get in if cambell gets hurt next week

zorn drafted brennan cambell was gibbs guy we need a change at QB next year.

Wishing injury on your own team? What are you, a secret Eagles fan? That's just a load of crap. If Campbell was SO terrible that he was jeopardizing the Skins that badly, I don't think the staff would sit around on their hands and just let him go screw the team over. You weren't paying attention to how well the QB carousel worked during the Spurrier days were you? |

I am a diehard Skins fan but have to be realistic. Sorry, Dallas and Skins will not make the playoff! The Falcons, Car/TB are in!

Campbell is our QB this year and beyond. We, as Skins fans, need to stop jumping all over our players when they struggle. We don't live in Philly or NY. We're better than that. Campbell may be the reason we've lost a couple but he's also the reason we went to Dallas and Philly in successive weeks and WON!! Would anyone like to bring back Heath Shuler or Danny Weurffel to replace Jason? Come on man...let it go. Sorry, that's off topic but I'm tired of the Campbell bashing. Dudes the real deal IMO. HAIL!! |
Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
wow at least i got some responses!i am not a closet eagles fan i seem to be pissed off about losing this year.I really thought we had a good chance last week.If sweezum makes that kick before halftime it would have really given the team a much needed boost before the half

HAIL!![/quote] we will see if DUDES FOR REAL the proof is in the offense and its success.take good look at last year we were 5 and 7 at this point last year and reeled off four straight.without cambell |
Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
Hogroll:
Where do you find the spread at 7 points for Sunday? Every place I look the spread is 5 or 5.5... prinzeofmoval: The Ravens have scored 292 points this year. That ties them for the third most points in the AFC and ties them for 7th in the NFL. If you call that kind of offense "fair", what do you call the Skins' offense which has scored 208 points this year. Skins have only outscored Rams, Lions, Raiders and Bengals. |
Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
This is the perfect game for the offense to get back on track against a very good defense. A win could give us the momentum to run the table. Who thought we would run the table last year after the Buffalo loss. This would be a big big win for the skins!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay we were 5-7 last year with him. We're 7-5 this year with him starting (and his stats are much better). He's still a young QB and like it or not, he's in another new offense (which is NOT an excuse, it's a factor). Even with all of that, if his receivers would hold on to the ball we might be able to sustain some drives and help him get into a rhythm. Let's not forget he's played some tough defenses the last couple of weeks with poor pass protection (and the aforementioned dropped passes). I'd like to see how many QBs could play well under those conditions. Fans in NY were calling for Eli's head a few years back and look where he is now. HAIL! |
Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
Who are we kidding. Hate to say it but the Boys are starting to gel right now. Barber is hurt yes but a sore pinky toe isn't season ending and that boy choice is no weak suck either.
|
Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
The 'Boys still need to go 3-1 to make the playoffs. If they do make it, nobody can say they didn't deserve it.
|
Re: I dont see Dallas making the play-offs
And I am sorry but WP is not going to lead this team into 3 wins. Jerry's veins will be popping when they lose to Pitt and NYG.

TB will have the #2 seed and ATL will probably get 5 or 6. If Dallas wins at least 3 games they will have the other WC. I think both the Skins and Car will finish 10-6 and miss the playoffs. |
