What's Buges email? My time is...............NOW!!!

re: Samuels Done for the Year
I believe Heyer is moving to LT, Fabini to RT. Rinehart will start getting some reps. And Devin Clark will be activated from the practice squad.
|
re: Samuels Done for the Year
How about being done for good. I never liked him and think he's an over rated waste of $
If you look back over the last few seasons and were able to review the film on all the times our QB's were rushed or sacked. His ass would be to blame for a HUGE percentage of them. |

JZ is covering it now in his Presser |
re: Samuels Done for the Year
I dissagree chris is the anchor of the line and can shut down the leagues best rushers
|
Re: Samuels Done for the Year
Gues who they will sign, my guess is Todd Wade. Maybe, activate Devin Clark, also.
|
Re: Samuels Done for the Year
Its really hard to plug hols in the line this time in the season. Maybe if you have a great line but with one so blah we'll be open for Campbell to being attacked play after play. This will actually hurt.

Re: Samuels Done for the Year
Oh well, maybe this will get them to develop some Olinemen

Sorry....not going to convince me. I've watched him closely since we got him. Came out of the gate strong but since signing him in 2005 to the ridiculous amount of $47 million +$16 million signing bonus he has been mediocre at best in his position. |

I have jokingly said similar things about Samuels, but he is top five OL in NFL period. Left tackle is the most important person on team, except for QB. They face the best pass rusher on every team every play, the best are going to get beat, at times. Samuels gettig hurt, effectively ends our season, that is how good he is. |
Re: Samuels Done for the Year
^^^ right now id take a "mediocre at best" samuels over any of our replacement options.
|
Re: Samuels Done for the Year
Here's the good news: San Francisco and Cincinnati have absolutely no semblance of a pass rush whatsoever.
But Philadelphia does. And that's the game we would need to win the most to make the playoffs. |
Re: Samuels Done for the Year
just curious , any word on Devin Thomas? didnt he go down with a leg injury of some kind? just wondering cuz i havent heard anything on it yet
|

Yes he gets beat just like every LT does. Pass rushers are going to win too. |

I saw him come back in the game, after the injury. |

Can't argue with you there. Just saying it couldn't hurt to look at letting him go next season to free up some of the $$$ he's into us for. But who could/would be available to replace him? |
Re: Samuels Done for the Year
^^^ right now id take a "mediocre at best" samuels over any of our replacement options.
Let's be fair, Samuels was less than himself playing on one leg for much of this year. When healthy, is among the best, athletic left tackles in the NFL.

oh no dont get me wrong, i freakin love samuels and thomas, i just used takeuon's category of "mediocre at best" in responding to his post to try and make a point . . .i remember when we first drafted samuels, i went to the supermarket around midnight about a week after the draft and there was a stretched limo outfront, went inside and the store was empty except for this huge brick house of a dude there with some females (sisters or family not hoochie mamas). i was too damn scared to even welcome him to the skins b/c the guy was so freakin huge, i think i slipped in a pansy ass 'whut up" as i passed them. ps -if youve never been to a grocery store around midnight its pretty freakin awesome. you can snack on cookies and what not and the people could care less. pps - this was the giant at the village in potomac so ive seen mike tyson, patrick ewing, dikembe mutombo and other sports stars there. Danny didnt live on the potomac then, he lived about 10 miles up in bethesda. |
Re: Samuels Done for the Year
Ouch huge loss. Oh well the season was already on the brink, this should push us over.
|
Re: Samuels Done for the Year
100% serious.

Also, don't try to get into a beer drinking contest with Samuels. You'll be in pain quickly. |

Now's the time to see what some of our youth on the line has to offer |

If by youth you mean Heyer I'm not looking forward to it. Heyer at LT makes me shudder. Zorn better wise up and stick a TE or back over there to help him out on just about every snap. It would be nice to see Rinehart get a look at RT though, if they feel he's ready. |
Re: Samuels Done for the Year
Glad we drafted some good, solid, young depth.
Oh wait, forget it |

Exactly! Mine as well start to get the experience now. |

sounds like your talking from personal experience!! well i used to do a case of milwaukees best every friday and sat night in college. the ladies couldnt resist a guy walking around with a case of crap beer under his arm and spillage soaking the whole front of his t shirt. (this was around pittsburgh so the woman carried 2 cases with them) not to sidetrack too much, but i would pay $1,000 dollars to bbq with thomas. man he really should throw a big "thank you fan appreciation" bbq thing this summer. the man even bbqs his cookies!!! |
Re: Samuels Done for the Year
I feel 7-9 looming.

Re: Samuels Done for the Year
Glad we drafted some good, solid, young depth.
Oh wait, forget it
I keep hearing that, but we did draft Olinemen, what about Rienhart. Cerrato said there was like 9 Olineman they would have drafted that all went prior to our pick. If Rienhart pans out, then we had a good draft. We just need to clean house now and build through the draft and free agency. I think if we had cut Jansen, Washington, Springs, and Griffin our record would not be much different. At least it would have allowed us to develop new players. I am torn about Randel El, he did have a good game last night. |
Re: Samuels Done for the Year
I've never been a big CS fan. Always gettin a flag for this or that. He's the best we got on the line this year so it's gonna hurt real bad.
|
Re: Samuels Done for the Year
Well, for all those Samuels doubters out there, I guess we'll see just how "bad" he was. My guess is that, to all those but the most obstinate, we are going to see just how important Samuels was to this line.

This actually made me laugh out loud. You and I might make a nice tackle/guard combo! |
Re: Samuels Done for the Year
In Zorn's press conference he said his #1 mandate for the OL for the rest of the season: "Do NOT get hurt." And he was dead serious when he said it.
That pretty much tells you all you need to know. When a coach is begging for no more injuries to a line that wasn't playing that well when healthy... We're in trouble. GTripp does make a good point though, about San Fran and Cincy's weak D-lines. If these injuries happened before the Dallas/Pitt/NYG/Balt stretch, JC may not be alive right now. |
