Game Ball....

Mine goes to both Portis and the Defense. I didn't know Portis was that fast. Matt Bowen was just a monster today. I'm really tempted to give the game ball to just him instead of the whole defense.

That Guy 09-12-2004 05:13 PM

he showed up today, hopefully its a trend.

SKINSnCANES 09-12-2004 05:13 PM

Id give week ones game ball to greg williams.

oldswill 09-12-2004 05:23 PM

absolutly skinsncanes, coach greg gets the game ball. hands down. boy they were agressive. hope they keep it up.

AnonEmouse 09-12-2004 05:26 PM

I think he gets it simply for his 'enthusiastic' celebrations! :)

monk81 09-12-2004 06:10 PM

Offense-Portis
Defense-Bowen, Arrington, Smoot, Pierce, Washington-ah the entire D.........Coach Williams.........

BIGREDSKINFAN63 09-12-2004 06:26 PM

Bowen,Arrington,Smoot, hell the whole defense.Portis,Brunell, the -o line and john hall get game balls.i also think that williams, gibbs, and bugel deserve one for the game plan they came up with.i would also give a game ball to one dan snyder for coaxing gibbs out of retirement.

redrock-skins 09-12-2004 06:29 PM

Portis and Gibbs get my gameball.

Rhaamses 09-12-2004 06:45 PM

Bowen, Pierce, Portis

SKINSnCANES 09-12-2004 07:05 PM

I voted coachign staff. But would vote defense if coaches didnt count.

Sheriff Gonna Getcha 09-12-2004 07:05 PM

Other than Bowen, no one in particular on D struck me as really impressive. However, the defense as a whole was awesome. The game ball goes to.....Gregg Williams.

GoSkins! 09-12-2004 07:57 PM

Gotta give it to the o-line. How many sacks did we give up? Chris Samuals did a great job, especially coming off a sprained ankle. One play he blocked out Rice and was still able to stick out his left arm and hold off another pass rusher. It saved Brunnel from getting crushed.

What a turn around from thier last meeting!!! :party-smi

SmootSmack 09-12-2004 10:29 PM

Tough call, lots of good choices here. The defense was spectacular but at the same time the Bucs offense doesn't really put fear in anyone. The Bucs D on other hand is still pretty strong, with guys like Brooks and McFarland leading the way. And the offensive line was phenomenal in protecting Brunell and creating holes for Portis

So I give the game ball to the offensive line

redwagonskins 09-12-2004 10:35 PM

Defense!!!!!!!!
Without a crappy special teams play and crappy handoff the score is 16-0.

BrunellFan 09-12-2004 10:49 PM

Ill also give one to the D-line. The run defense was phenominal (sp?) and I think Jermaine Haley got some pressure on Brad Johnson.

bridaman51 09-13-2004 07:36 AM

I give my game ball to the Dirtbags. they gave up no sacks and had a hundred yard rusher. and defensively I give it to the whole defense cause that is the first time in a long time that defense played together as a TEAM and I loved it. They never quit even after TB seemed to be gaining momentum, the Defense stepped up and shut it down.

jbcjr14 09-13-2004 08:01 AM

I gave mine to the defense. Bowen and Smoot both said that Tampa did NOT run anything they didn't practice and they were so well prepared. Huge kudos to the defensive staff!

MTK 09-13-2004 08:19 AM

My gameballs go to the coaching staff first, and second to Portis.

The difference between last year's staff and this one is night and day, and it's hard to top Portis' debut on his first carry as a 'Skin.

Defensewins 09-13-2004 08:40 AM

Good call to give the game ball to Greg Williams. What a diffrence a year makes. The defense players are not much better than last year. It is the coaching.

backrow 09-13-2004 11:09 AM

I voted before I viewed the Thread!

Coaching Staff! Without it, we wouldn't have any of the rest!

SUNRA 09-13-2004 12:17 PM

That ball goes to the entire defense and Coach Gregg Williams. Man I haven't seen this kind of blitzing since the early eighties. Williams put Bowen in the right position to make the big plays. That's what it takes and we're looking at a serious contender for the a lot of wins.
