Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
Since we beat both NFC Championship teams does that mean
A. It's a good sign meaning we're right there with the best in the conference? B. It's a bad sign meaning we may have as much talent to play with those teams but for some reason we're still not good enough to consistently compete? C. It's a sign of danger because the front office will think that we're this close to being a Super Bowl team. What do you think? |

LOL, I know, I know.. Hopefully they'll do the right thing this year! |
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
It means nothing.
|
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
"ass much talent" Nice
I think it's a good sign that we can compete with the best of the conference, but it could also serve as a wake up call that we're this close but also this far away. Either way, it shouldn't (I hope) affect our plans |
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
it means nothing.
|
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
All it means is anything can happen in the playoffs.
|
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
I pick letter C. I would like to think they would say it means nothing we still have goals we need to accomplish, but I truely think the powers that be will sit back and look at who was in the final games especially the NFC play off game and say ...." We beat both teams so we can't be that far off. I don't think the Skins would have had a chance with any of the AFC teams who were in the playoffs. Baltimore beat us, Pittsburge beat us, I have no doubt San Diego would have beaten us, Miami is the only question.
Theres a big difference in playing ok at the begining of the season and getting stronger and playing great at the begining and getting weaker until you suck. |
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
It means the Eagles better choke next week because if I have to hear Philly people talk about how the Eagles are such a great team, and they knew they were gonna do it all along and (enter some random bullshit taunt here), I think I might lose my mind.
Although if it's a Ravens v. Eagles super bowl (which would be pretty interesting to see) if the Eagles lose, I'd love rubbing it in all the Eagles fans faces. |

Yup , the Eagles beat the Giants today now the #1,2,and 3 seed of the NFC are all out which bows well fro the AFC.We were out played but more important we were out coached today AR beat Coughlin all the way around the board.I'll be rooting for the Steelers becuase McNabb is so classless I just can't root for him.:) |
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
Why turn the fact that we SWEPT PHILLY and BEAT ARIZONA a negative?
|

that and complaining we can do that with the best of them |

sad..........but true............a long off-season........... |
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
Redskins vs Bengals or Rams Good sign. Bad sign or sign of danger
Sorry Pain I couldn't resist :) |
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
3-2 against the remaining teams in contention...I think it just shows that we can play with the best of them, but not consistently...
|
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
All it means is that the Steelers are likely to win another SB and we all get hear Steelers fans louder than ever. F*ck.
|
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
Means nothing beyond the fact that the unexpected can happen. My money is on the Ravens to win it all (Big Ben + Ed Reed = INT) but then again I remember what happened last year.

Wrong. I think Baltimore pulls the upset. |
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
I don't think it means anything.
Now let's go Arizona. Go out and beat the brakes of the Filth-a-delphia Yardbirds. Better yet win the Superbowl. He he he. Yeah Right! |

The QB sneak call was horrible. You've got Jacobs back there and you run Eli over Jacobs?? Why the hate for McNabb?? |

I hope you and Saden are right... personally I just want the trophy to stay w/ the NFC at this point. |

Q: Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
A: Iz Dangers [YT]uVKIZiwaQQ8[/YT] |

My prediction is Baltimore vs Arizona in the SB. I hope I'm right. |
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
Baltimore got some real lucky breaks against Tenn and I think their corners are suspect. I don't think they beat Pittsburgh at Pittsburgh.
|
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
When it was clear Steelers were going to win, CBS Sports game telecast showed an interesting graphic near the end of the Steelers v Chargers game.
Top three defenses in NFL in 2008 (ranking was based on total Defense): 1) Pittsburgh Steelers 2) Baltimore Ravens 3) Philadelphia Eagles Then Joe Buck says, "how interesting the top three defenses in 2008 in total defense are represented as three of the finalists for the superbowl." This was a CBS stat so dont ask me where they got their figures. This is more relevant to who should win and how teams win then trying to make some kind of logic out of the first post in this thread about team beat A and team b...and trying to make some kind of logic out that. you can't. |

Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
They don't say defense win championships for nothing. Even the Rams back in 1999 had a great defense (ranked #4 in the league).

Your right it was not Joe Buck. It was who ever was partnered with Phil Simms during that game.?.? |

Lucky? They forced 3 turnovers...I'm sure cheers of Ravens fans channeled all the luck in the universe and willed them to win. Oh, when you have Ed Reed back there you corners can be suspect not that their corners are as suspect as you think. |
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
How is it that SD couldn't get to Ben? Philly was all over him earlier in the season and even the lowly Redskins pass-rush got 4 sacks on him.

The Steelers have a decent OL, when the playoffs arrive is all about who's the hungriest team. Just look at the Cardinals, they stunk up the joint from Thanksgiving until the playoffs arrived. |
Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
This guy is a little over confident:

Re: Philly vs. Arizona-Good sign, bad sign or sign of danger?
Probably just wishful thinking but I believe Ben is just a monster hit or two away from losing his effectiveness. I was just very surprised SD didn't target him especially after the serious concussion... Ray-Ray and the Ravens will do everything they can to put Ben on the turf.

It was Jim Nantz. |

3-0 against NFC championship teams 0-2 against AFC championship teams In fact, 7-5 against NFC overall and 1-3 against AFC overall. Maybe we could petition the NFL for no games against AFC? |

Eli was terrible yesterday, and Delhomme was categorically worse on Saturday.

Were those teams any good when you played them? |
