What's for lunch?

I happened to notice that the posting has slowed down quite a bit during this time of day. I thought that it would be interesting to know what people are gorging themselves with every day. Who knows, maybe there is something that I have never had before or maybe a new restaurant for me to try.

As for today, I am having some home made chili. Can you say "Flatulent Friday"? I hope that it doesn't bother my coworkers.

I have a deli down the road from my office and they have the best chicken sandwich around so every Friday is chicken day. I walk in and the the lady just places my order and brings me my ice tea. Other days I usually eat in our lunch room. When I built my office the one thing I knew I wanted was a nice lunch roon that I and employees can go to get away for lunch.

I hit the diner today for an omlette and toast.

Turkey sandwich, baked chips and a trail bar. Boring but what are you going to do.

BK (Before Kids) - I used to treat myself to Jerry's Sub every Friday. I love their Cheese Steaks.

I got Quizno's for lunch today since I was too lazy to pack anything this morning.
Quizno's has new ads saying that they've lowered their prices, but they neglect to say that their subs are noticably smaller. That poop annoys me.

Oh really??? I like them better then Subway but always thought they were a bit pricey.
Oh really??? I like them better then Subway but always thought they were a bit pricey.
I know what you mean, but it didn't bother me all that much to pay about $1 more for a better sandwich.

Today I got a regular honey bourbon chicken that cost about $5.75 or so, but it didn't really fill me up. I could have got a large for like $7.25, but then I'd either end up throwing part of it away, so stuffing the whole thing in my face causing me to feel like crap for the rest of the day.

I need to go back to high school when I was cutting weight for wrestling and I got to the point where I could eat an orange and a rice cake and feel full for hours. Those were the days...

I hit a local BBQ joint and grabbed some southwest pulled pork and seasoned fries. Their BBQ is ridiculous. Smokin' Pig baby! 5.20 with a drink and faster than any fast food place I have ever been, and they don't even have a drive through.

Dang! That's what was calling out for me. BBQ! We spent 3 hours debating where we we're going to eat for lunch. Settled for a Pizza Den buffett, but I knew I wanted BBQ. The day is ruined.

I'm getting ready to hit the Subway around the corner myself. They usually have damn good tuna salad. I always make it a combo with Cool Ranch Doritos and a large Diet Coke. I think today I may have a few oatmeal raisin cookies with it.

I'm fortunate, I work in the heart of downtown Bethesda. I usually try to pack a lunch to save money, but if I don't, there are tons of choices.

Their prime rib peppercorn sub is off the chain. But I have a monster appetite so I need to get a large, and by the time you make it a combo it's like $11 and change. Way too expensive.

The little one on Wisconsin right next to Modell's, across from Uno's Pizza and the big movie theater.

I just finished my sandwich actually. Damn good "sandwich artists" in that store. :)

Oh yeah, I know exactly which one you're talking about. I used to live 2 minutes from there. You ever go to the Quiznos right around the corner from there, heading down toward Woodmont Ave? Good artists there too

Oh for sure. I love Quizno's. When is the last time you've been in Bethesda? The area around Woodmont Ave behind the movie theater has really been built up, with plenty of good restaurants.

Good old Tommy Joe's is always a solid place for appetizers and beers after work.

To me sushi is the perfect lunch. Just enough to eat, you're not too full, and it's tasty as hell.

The last time I was in downtown has been a while, a year or so. I'm in the general area occassionally visiting family.

I used to live right on Woodmont, across from the Metro.

Wow, great location for a place. My girlfriend and I looked around in Bethesda last fall for a place, but we settled on Silver Spring (which used to be so damn ghetto, but has really improved). We both work in Bethesda, but it's only like a 3.5 mile commute down East-West Hghwy, so it's really easy.

After living in Gainesville for almost 9 years, it's been really nice being back around the old stomping grounds. Bethesda has great eats.

Thats what I wanted today but the bank in the same parking lot had a bomb scare so I stayed away. The place near me has great BBQ and last summer Bobby Fay (from the food network) came down and had a cook off with them and they beat Bobby. So that shows how good their BBQ is and yea, the 50 or so trophy's sitting around says so too.

Which BBQ place is this. There was a real good little BBQ place in SE Va Beach on the way to Chesapeake (back way, down N. Landing) called Sooee, but they shut down.

BTW any of you guys in the 757 need to check out Pembroke Pizza & Pasta near the City Center at Independence & VB Blvd.

Try the pizza, Steak & Cheese, or the Chicken Carbonnara. PM me and I'll hook you up with a Warpath discount :)

In between Connecticut Ave and 16th street somewhere? I'm trying to think of schools on that road... other than BCC High School, I'm drawing a blank. Shows you how much I pay attention when I'm on my way to work. A cup of coffee and sportstalk 980 is all I care about....

Wood Chicks BBQ and after I thought about it that shopping center does not even have a bank. Its on the corner of Cedar road and Dominion Blvd in that shopping center with the Farm Fresh.

definitely not as good as the real deal White Castle but not bad especially when you don't have one within driving distance.

The real ones should be illegal they're so addictive.

I remember when I was growing up (still working on that) my grandparents had a White Castle just down the street. I can still remember holding their hands walking down the street to get hamburgers. Me and my grandfather would have a contest to see who could eat the most and everytime I see the name White Castle I think of them.

Re: What's for lunch?

I just had a McDonald's Big Mac extra value meal. I almost NEVER eat fast food (I don't include sub shops as fast food - I'm referring to BK, McD's, Taco Bell, etc), but for some reason I had a craving for a Big Mac today. It's probably been 5 years since I had one, no exaggeration. It was awesome. I feel like ass now, but man was it good.
