Jason Peters

The bills and jason peters their all pro left tackle, are having problems with contract negotiations, some think the bills will now draft a tackle with their 11th overall pick, and trade peters, would we want to trade our first for peters and their second or third round pick...think about it, you would get a proven left tackle instead of an unproven, plus he is pretty young too (27)...

Re: Jason Peters

I'd do our first for Peters and their second...but they sure wouldn't.

He's under contract and they have the leverage. This is a non-story.

Re: Jason Peters

Peters' demands is one of the biggest reasons we were able to get Dockery back. But, and again Gmanc being up there can confirm for sure, apparently Peters is a big-time diva, skips practices, comes late to meetings, complains...basically the Bills already had a TO before they actually signed TO.

I think I read somewhere he wants Jake Long money.

Who? Orlando Pace or Jason Peters, because the first one has no chance in hell. Peters on the other hand I've heard referred to as the best young tackle in the game on more then one occasion.

Re: Jason Peters

For what's been said this guy sounds like a locker room ass clown. I don't think/doubt we'll address RT until draft day or after. If we're lucky enough to draft one of the tops that pretty much settles it, otherwise I think we'll sign a very good vet who's been replaced and cut and we'll probably get him for a reasonable price. O-line, unless some weird shit happens, won't be the ? on offense going into the season... the WR corp is a different story.

Could you imagine the headlines if he did not play in a game? :silly:

Actually its funny, people are pretty divided on Peters in Buffalo....but most of the beat writers are in that camp...that he's not worth the headache. He's obviously a VERY talented left tackle, but its hard to say if he's not in the right situation or not....

My consensus is that we should draft our own tackle, I would not particularly want Jason Peters.... (Not that he's not 10000x better than what were working with right now)

Re: Jason Peters

Money wise we could get him, seeing that we got all these expensive players this offseason and still have $8 million in cap space still, and this guy is proven, and right now is hands down better than any of the tackles in this years draft...the lockeroom thing is the only problem with this guy, but that may not matter seeing that he plays consistently great week in and week out throughout the season...

I'd complain to if i had to play for the Bills.

I must be a dip, I thought we already had a LT? Why on earth would we want another? We need a RT.

He has played both sides. When he came into the league he was at RT for the Bills.

Works for me. If he's young and plays well ...."Lock it up."

Re: Jason Peters

Wow, if you put him at the RT, or maybe LT, can't Samuels play RT? he's getting a little older now.

you dont just switch people around at tackle spots. samuels is a LT, he's been fine, why mess with that?

You may not need to, you can just put peters at RT..

Re: Jason Peters

It makes no sense to get Peters who is a LT and pay him top dollar to start at RT? Great player but LT is not a need for us, RT is.

I think that the Redskins should have learned from the Jason Taylor screwup. Taylor is a right defensive end and so is Andre Carter. You can't just flip flop players and expect them to play as well as they do at there natural spot. I say no way to Peters, we don't need his drama.

I think it would be a good trade, but only if he is playing right tackle, Samuels is our guy, we are fine at that o-line position.

The Redskins already have one resident diva. They do not need another one.

Re: Jason Peters

I'd trade 13th to get a young, beast O-lineman. Why take a risk on and have to pay him big bucks. I'd rather give the money to someone established.
