When munching all 168 mock drafts updated in March, 30% or 168 mock drafts now project OT Michael Oher as the Redskins pick at #13. That is the first time since we started the Database for 2009 that a player has climbed to 30% or above.
|
Re: Michael Oher Leads when munching 168 Mocks
I agree we should take Oher

No one is getting around that dude.
Good Lord! The dude weighs 1 and a half tons! I think it would cost us a least a first and a third to draft someone that big. |
Re: Michael Oher Leads when munching 168 Mocks
I'd take him in an instant
|
Re: Michael Oher Leads when munching 168 Mocks
But, but, but.. I want Rey.

He'd be a one-man offensive line. :laughing- |
Re: Michael Oher Leads when munching 168 Mocks
Thats impressive. To weigh that much and still be considered athletic is quite a feat. But I still say we need to go after Jason Smith. According to ESPN he's from SPARTA!!! Need I say more?

Re: Michael Oher Leads when munching 168 Mocks
I'll be tickled if we get Oher... and I'd take him over Rey at this point but we really do need to address LB.
|
Re: Michael Oher Leads when munching 168 Mocks
Find a way to trade up and get Rey as well as one of the big 4 :D
|
Re: Michael Oher Leads when munching 168 Mocks
Just watched Oher combine highlights vs. Andre Smith pro-day highlights. Oher looks far more fit, athletic and quick on his feet... basically he strikes me as a better prospect to eventually play LT for us.
... does anybody know why Oher is falling on draft boards? I just noticed most of the NFL.com analysts have him dropping. |
Re: Michael Oher Leads when munching 168 Mocks
I may have posted this before, but for those of you who haven't read this story on Oher, it's one of the most moving sports profiles I've ever read.

Re: Michael Oher Leads when munching 168 Mocks
I really hope he winds up with us. There's no way he's reached his full potential yet. I can't imagine what he could become under Coach Bugel and Chris Samuels' tutelage.

Re: Michael Oher Leads when munching 168 Mocks
I just read that he has a major learning disability, and that he really never understood the play book at ole miss, if this is true then I'm diffenitly taking A Smith over him, I read this in the new sporting news daft guide, which is a little outdated, and I suggest you look at it instead of buy it..

Re: Michael Oher Leads when munching 168 Mocks
Better Oher than Sanchez.

Donkey...If true, imagine what he could do with the full force and benefit of an NFL team putting every possible resource it could into helping him learn a play book. He dominated in college and didn't know the play book? SHoot I'll take five of him. |

Nice angle... the way I see it Oher didn't have any meaningful education till he was about a junior in HS. Yeah he's gonna be a bit behind still in the brains department but the book is true he's shown he can learn when he decides to. |
Re: Michael Oher Leads when munching 168 Mocks
I am actually a little scared of Oher now. If the guy essentially had no social skills and basically no education until like 5 years ago I am concerned the guy might be a nut case due to his "upbringing". Once thrown into the petri dish that is the NFL who knows where the hell he heads mentally. On the other hand he may be moldable so who knows.
TO is the perfect example. By most accounts he was a humble down to earth guy early in his career. Now look at him. And he purportedly had a weird upbringing. |
Re: Michael Oher Leads when munching 168 Mocks
at this point in the draft discussions, rumors are rampant in order to throw off teams from their focus on particular players. The Redskins have several needs, but should look to pick up a backup LB in free agency, Take the best OT avialable at the 13th pick. Should no elite OT be available, take Center Mack then trade remaining lower round picks for a early 2nd rounder to pick up Britton or Loadholt at the Tackle slot. This would give us the best foundation for the 2009 season. We don't need more defense. Our defense was in the top tiers last year without the acquisition of Haynesworth, Wynn, Hall, etc. We will be fine on Defense. Better protect our QB if we are going to make the playoffs this year. If we faulter, it will be our young WR corp not stepping up again this year.

Re: Michael Oher Leads when munching 168 Mocks
O-Lineman? I'll take him. We're to the point where we I don't care WHO they draft as long as he'll be on the O-line.

So you want Wynn as you starting LDE, and Blades at the starting OLB? Wynn is 35 and out of gas, and Blades is as more suited for MLB and is a liability in pass coverage, so I think we need "more" defense. |
Re: Michael Oher Leads when munching 168 Mocks
Yeah, we definately need more talent on D. Don't really care where it comes from, because pass rushing talent is abundant in this league, but we need to get our hands on it.
