Man you couldn't have made the first twelve picks screw us any better so well done!

I think Ayers could be a bust, but he has the right body and skill set for LDE in the NFC East and that's a big need so I guess I take the one year wonder from Tennessee.

Cushing

Re: A New "Who would you draft?" Exercise

The top 4 OT's are gone. Maualuga, Orakpo, Raji, Jackson and of course Curry gone. Everybody knows who I'm picking, the best 0-lineman at his position who is still available. Alex Mack. Is it too soon to pick the best center in the draft who can have an immediate impact on your team? The Patriots took Mayo last year ahead of where he was projected to go. How'd that work out? Beanie Wells would give us a great 1-2 punch with Portis, but I'm going Alex Mack baby.

I'm taking Maybin as well.

Trade Down!!!!!!!!!!!

If not, I'd take Cushing. Ayers is just too big of a risk for a pick that high.

I second that pick!

SS: where and when would Duke play (supposedly if we draft him)?

um...in another thread he's traded for an OLB :)

RG/RT? Starting RG by 2010?

Lol if that's the case, that probably would be my second choice.. Going with Alex Mack will not bite us in arse in future :)

Cushing, but if this scenario happens a trade down is the right move

As a loyal Penn State fan...I don't want us to draft Maybin, he will be a bust.

If we do, I'll set myself on fire in the middle of the field at the Fedex draft party!

I wish you wouldn't. But if you're pretty set on it, I'll bring some hotdogs and marshmellows just in case. :)

maclin..

ok, just kidding. maybin. but jmac wouldn't be horrible if this draft happened.

Re: A New "Who would you draft?" Exercise

If this happens i might mess my pants! I would trade down first, if not trade it for Peppers,
but under these rules I'd probably go with Maybin or Mack. Maybin scares me though, Mack is safer but less of a need. Its a damn tough call but I will role the dice with Maybin.
Good thing though, if he is a bust we could hopefully fire Vinny!

Re: A New "Who would you draft?" Exercise

What a shitty scenario GT!!!

Not Maybin...he's a tweener IMO not a 4-3 DE and yeah a bust risk. I guess Ayers. Lame.

Reluctantly Maybin or Brown. Neither will do jack against the run but maybe we can finally get to the passer with some consistency.

Re: A New "Who would you draft?" Exercise

i agree with the Malcolm Jenkins pick , who i think is the best person available . In the first round u have to draft the best player there. Now if there is a couple players all rated about the same and one will fill a need then go in that direction. And if are secondary is strong ,but we don't have depth there. If Landry ,Hall , Horton or Rodgers goes down ,then theres a huge drop off in talent to are backups and becomes an immediate exposure. So do we need a DB as much as a OT or DL , no ,but a DB will help are team , especially if Carlos Rodgers leaves or gets traded.

GridIron26 04-15-2009 11:23 PM

Re: A New "Who would you draft?" Exercise

^^ In this scenario, I would not oppose to the idea of drafting Jenkins, as well.. He would give Landry freedom to roam all over the field.. That would have been helluva defense, along with Haynesworth in the line..

Re: A New "Who would you draft?" Exercise

Almost identical to SmootSmack's thread. I do have a suspicion that Spags won't pass on Curry at #2, but they do need a tackle pretty bad. So for gits and shiggles I'll switch my 2 and 3.

1) Det - Matt Stafford
2) St. Louis - Aaron Curry
3) KC - Jason Smith
4) Sea - Matt Sanchez
5) Cle - Michael Crabtree
6) Cin - Eugene Monroe
7) Oak - Jeremy Maclin
8) Jax - BJ Raji
9) GB - Aaron Maybin
10) SF - Brian Orakpo
11) Buf - Tyson Jackson
12) Den - Everette Brown
13) Wash - Michael Oher
14) NO - Chris Wells
15) Hou - Malcolm Jenkins
16) SD - Andre Smith
17) NYJ - Josh Freeman
18) Den - Peria Jerry
19) TB - Brian Cushing
20) Det - Rey Maualuga

Two guys I REALLY, REALLY don't want at 13 are Cushing or Maybin.

Trade the whole draft (this year and next year) for Brady Quinn lol, Beanie Wells or Malcolm Jenkins. Man I could go for a cheesesteak right now

Why Brady Quinn when Boldin is available?

Well with Edwards and Boldin or Ocho most likely coming to the NFC East...

Still, there are some pretty hot rumors that if the Browns can pull off a Quinn trade for the #10 overall pick, they'll use that spot for Jenkins.
