Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
OK, my wife and I have exhausted ourselves looking at stuff online about "can't miss" things and we only have 6 days. Basically the GUARANTEED things we're doing are limo tour of all of Vegas with open bar, the Hoover Dam and O by Cirque du Soleil.
We were considering an adult show but Zoomanity didn't get great reviews and neither did Bite. What are some other can't miss things we should do AND where are the best beer prices? |

Re: Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
Have you ever seen Cirque De Soleil. I have gone to 2 shows, both were amazing.

Nice. Which ones did you go see? |
Re: Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
The first one was in Vegas, and really had no clue what it was, just went. The second, in Baltimore, was Koomba, I believe. Not sure of the names, I just would recommend Cirque De Soleil to anyone and everyone. Have you seen them before?

Re: Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
Neither of us have. O apparently is the best on in Vegas, so I think that's what we're going to see...

Check the V Variety show. It was very entertaining.

Re: Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
You will be amazed by the Cirque de Soleil show, I guarantee it.

Re: Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
Its been some time sense I have been to Vegas but I had won a three day trip through work. Was having so much fun we decided to extend our trip another 2 or 3 days.
|
Re: Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
You probably can't go wrong with Cirque du Soleil. We didn't go to any shows when we were out there but next time we definitely will.

Re: Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
Bring good walking shoes! Seriously you will be walking a lot.
My wife and I had a good time but I don't see us rushing back anytime soon. To me if you are not big into gambling, it just ok. I would rather go to say SF, a city with history and culture, to me Vegas is just a giant mall if you will. With that said if you have never been you should go to experience it. Six days is a lot of time in Vegas, we where pretty much done after 3 days. Do see the Grand Canyon it is the best sight there and still shows that man could never out do God. God still has the show the strip, the Grand Canyon. |
Re: Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
You must stay on the strip! Especially if its your first time there! MGM Grand has good rooms and very comfortable beds for relatively cheap. Bellagio has the best restuarants.............or so I've heard anyway. I couldn't afford to eat there. For cheap good food I would recomend New York New York. And yes, ride the Manhattan Express! You got too! And if you like shopping Ceasars is pretty good for that.
If you're a poker player MGM Grand and Ceasars have some real good poker rooms. I hear Ceasars is the best actually. And I think I heard the Mirage was good too...............Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was the Mirage. Last but not least...............six days is to long! Unless you have ALOT of money to spend. A few years ago I went there for seven days and I spent a fortune. So if I were you I would knock the trip down to three or four days. Trust me! Enjoy your trip! |
Re: Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
One of the best buffets is at the Mirage I thought. Though you really can't go wrong at any of them.

Re: Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
Miller101 has good advice!
Eat at In and Out Burger as well, they are good. |
Re: Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
Nice! Thanks for all the advice guys. We definitely put some of your suggestions as must-dos just because there's so much stuff we can't even pick!

Re: Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
I was in Vegas for a week and it went by like nothing. There's just so much to do it's impossible to see everything. It's mad fun though, can't wait to go back.
By the way the best way to get around is on the monorail. Takes you up and down the entire strip pretty cheap. |

Best buffet is definitely the Bellagio's... it's a little pricier (around 35 for dinner), but it's worth it. The Alaskan King crab legs (already halved for you) in drawn butter seal the deal for me. The prime rib is good and sometimes they'll have kobe beef. If you're looking for a good 24 hour restaurant, I like the Monte Carlo's. Their open-faced turkey sandwich (on two huge golden biscuits, piled under mashed potatoes, cranberry and gravy) is tops... along with their blueberry pancakes. The lady will probably want to peep the Wynn, Aladdin and the new Palazzo for shopping. If you guys are still feeling young enough to party, I'd skip the normal clubs like Pure or Body Rock and stay up instead for the Drais afterhours at Barbary Coast. Not sure about how open-minded she is about skin clubs hahaha... but Spearmint Rhinos is the most popular, Sapphire is the biggest and poshest and Cheetah's is the naughtiest. Have fun! |
Re: Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
Best restaurant turned bar Is the White Russian over at Mandalay.
|
Re: Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
Sapphire Gentlemen's Club, Las Vegas, NV. It is 71,000-square-feet. I think they have over 5 THOUSAND strippers on payroll. Just let that soak in, I'm not much for strip clubs, but 5 THOUSAND.

Re: Las Vegas in 2 weeks.. Suggestions?
I've been 10+ times (and got married there!). Here's some food recs...
--All the restaurants at the Wynn are awesome. --Burger Bar in the Mandalay Place is great place to watch a game and have lunch. I always get the Buffalo with Jalapeno Cheddar and go there every trip (sometimes twice) --Verandah in the Four Seasons has a nice brunch on Sunday. Sit outside. --Bellagio buffet is tremendous. Wynn is also. And Mirage. --Mr. Lucky's is a great 24 hour diner in the Hard Rock. The Mexican place there-Pink Taco-is also fun and casual. --Must have In N Out while there. --Hot dog with works is $1 at the Gold Coast Casino. Look for the vendor by the sportsbook. --N9NE steakhouse at the Palms. Very modern and slick. --The Trattoria in the Venetian. Nice casual Italian (imagine that at the Venetian!). --Tao in the Venetian for a pricey dinner. Then stay for the nightclub. |

I never tried this burger before I moved out west... they're cooked to order. Secret menu tips- make sure you order your burger and fries "animal-style"... special sauce and grilled onions make this an absolute beast. Ironically, I never had "Five Guys" when I lived in VA. The first time I tried it was when they moved a franchise to SoCal. A very different burger than In-N-Out, but I can see why my East Coast brethren love it. |
