What do you think, Orakpo at SLB on 1st and 2nd... Then LDE in a pass rush 3rd??
 

With Orakpo and Wilson coming off the weak side and McIntosh and Fletcher dropping into coverage, I think We have a legit threat to opposing QB health!!! Both players are versatile enough to switch and confuse blocking schemes, so it gives Coach B a whole new look in the DL and LB positions. The two guys are almost of the same body type and physique and I think that Wilson is gonna have a big year with enough starts.

No to Orakpo at SLB, purely because i dont think he can turn his hips and follow the tightends

We're gonna have so many options and defensive looks. We could def drive some QB's crazy.

Been discussed to death already, I'd like to see him stay at end unless he can definitely prove that he's a solid SLB early on

I'm not a big fan of how interchangeable we expect our players to be at times

Agreed...but where does he fit? We're not benching AC at RDE. Maybe they split time there who knows. And unless Orakpo bulks up and becomes a badass run-stopper (not his forte in college at all) he's probably 3rd on the depth chart behind Daniels/Wynn rotating.

I think Rak is a project for our defense. Monster potential but it will take some headscratching, adjustment and probably tweaking of the player to make him a starter.

He can split time with Daniels. Plus, Strahan and Tuck are/were 270 at some point in the career when playing LDE. Orakpo doesn't have that much weight to gain.

With Haynesworth, Griffin, Carter, P.Daniels/R. Wynn for D line, then L. Fletcher, Orakpo, and R. McIntosh as LB crew, Greg Blache could easily start bringing the PAIN with the blitz and feel comfortable doing so. With Orakpo at LB, that would more often that not put a RB trying to block him on a rush. Do the math! Also Orakpo could be spelled at LB and slide in to DE on passing plays if desired. The options are endless. I'm anxious top see how Blache plays his hand. Now the big question is can the Offense put points on the board when the Defense shuts a team down?

I heard somewhere that the Skins were thinking about moving McIntosh to SLB. But even in doing that, leave Orakpo at DE where he excelled and got 11.5 sacks at! If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

We can put all the defensive schemes out there we want, but we need to put points on the board. Offense was our achilles heal last year, not the defense.

Personally, I'd like to see him just as a DE, but we won't know this for a while.

Well how long are we expecting to have Daniels and Wynn for? I mean, if it gets him on the field some and he's not a liability, that's great.

We also said whoever was going to be picked if we stayed at 13 would have to be an immediate contributor. So maybe they cycle him at end.

Someone mentioned Zorn said he'd be with his hand down playing end.

Definitely a possibility, a lot of people are acting like we have our final roster and everybody signed is on the team.

Wynn and Daniels are going to be in on running downs. They have the better skill sets and experience for that.

Blache will most likely let this guy get after the QB on passing downs. A 3-way rotation between Orakpo, Wynn, and Daniels. The rook can prob get 6-8 sacks, Daniels and Wynn can last the whole season. Whadya think?

Damn didnt know that we had the number 4 defense last year. Now with this big pash rushing hog mollys we should have something special.

I think it makes sense. Still though we've got a ton of d-line guys now so cuts are inevitable. Personally I think 2 of the Jackson, Buzbee, Wilson trio are gone. Other than Wilson's handful of downs they haven't been able to contribute anything and now are superfluous. Then if Daniels can't stay healthy he'll have to go...hard to say there. Wynn isn't anything awesome now but the guy really works to stay in top shape and has very little injury history...would be surprised if he goes anywhere.

Once I get some more time I'm gonna make my 53 man roster. I wish there were an application or video game with that stuff and real updated salary cap figures. I would think 8 or 9 d-line. Haynesworth, Orakpo, Griffin, Golston, Montgomery, Carter, Daniels or Wynn, Wilson, and Alexander. I think Alexander could play LDE if the one guy we keep got injured. I think we need Alexander on the team since we'll prolly lose Montgomery or Golston and we could prolly keep Jackson/Buzbee on the practice squad.
