Accident at Cowboys practice facility

Just saw Jerry Jones at the Kentucky derby. He said there was some sort of collapse at Cowboys stadium. No fatalities. Hope it stays that way.

It was a tornado that hit the Cowboys practice facilities.

Not the stadium, my bad

Well I am glad no one was hurt. Their new stadium looks silly. (like darth vader's helmet buried in the sand...)

Thank goodness Jones wasn't there. The last thing we need is someone with a clue running Dallas.

Special Teams Coach Joe DeCamillis was taken to the hospital immobilized on a stretcher and a neck brace on. So far no statement from the hospital.

It was a rookie mini-camp in progress when it happened and according to what I heard, there were 4 injuries to staff members. One I know for certain is the Spec Teams coach.

As much as I despise the Cowboys on the football field, in a situation like this I send them all best wishes for their health.

Absolutely! I'm glad no one was seriously injured and I hope Jones lives well into his Al Davis years!

Actually, it looks like a total of 12 people injured (one critically), including a few assistant coaches. This is pretty awful. There's a video in the link.

Pretty harrowing account here. One of their assistants, who happens to be Dan Reeves' son-in-law, broke his back in a few places.

My gosh. The thing looks like it's basically a big tent with lights and stuff hanging from it. I wonder if it's the only facility like that in the NFL. Doesn't look very sturdy.

Yeah, Cowboys' Special Team Coach, Joe DeCamillis has a broken vertabrae. The doctors said that he is lucky that he isn't paralyzed. As much as I hate Dallas, this is pretty sad and hope that everyone will be okay.

I was thinking the same thing. Strange, given Jerruh Jones' propensity to spend.

Apparently the place shakes all the time in the wind. I guess the winds hit 64mph today. Not exactly timid, but not hurricane force either. Those air bubbles air pretty flimsy. They are basically held up by scaffolding.

I don't think there's anything wrong with teams practicing inside structures like this, but I guess it's imperative that they have someone closely following the local weather radar.

Yeah the article says it was built in 2003 when Parcells was there. Just seems like a temporary type building to me. Kinda strange.

I think that Zorn has championed for an indoor-ish facility as well.

Yes. If Jerry Jones has an IQ above 3 which is questionable, he will do the right thing in the correct order.

If Jerry is the usual Richard, the lawyers will shred him and that organization a new one.

I live east of Dallas and that same storm came through my town. It blew down every single corn plant that I had. This problem is not in the same league as being paralyzed, mind you, but it is still a bummer. It was a heck of a storm.

Based on the info that has come out about the company that built this facility, & that so far as I have heard, JJ never had the building inspected this year, I would expect the guy who was paralyzed to sue the daylights out of JJ & the Cowboys...& rightfully so. I feel bad for the guy that got the worst of this...

That said, you all are much better people then me...that's my ignorant statement.
