give it a few weeks so we can really judge this
Vinny Testaverde.. Played the Vikings defense and the Browns defense. What an animal!
you obviously should have gotten kurt... seriously though, 677 yards and only 2 tds means he's a 20-20 qb... and you're once again focusing too much on the stats to see the bigger picture... gibbs runs a RUN HEAVY offense, you don't have an RB worth playing, so of course dallass is going to pass more. and everyone here knows mark was way overpaid, i don't like it, but i have no control over that. Our records are still the same though, and a QB is only 1 position among many on a football team... i'm sure dallass has its share of bad contracts too. these somewhat meaningless 2 page stat posts are really pretty boring...
Ugh. Brunell was way overpaid.
I'm sorry, but I sort of don't have a great feeling about an 8.6 million dollar signing bonus. Even if he gets released three years from now, we still take a 5 million dollar cap hit. That blows considering he would have been cut, and we could have probably signed him for close to what Warner is getting. |
The worst one out of that bunch was A.J. Feeley. Mingya, what were they thinking???
ummm it's week 3, let's save the number crunching for after the season when we'll have a better perspective.
I agree with oa la73hof that we sqandered picks and overpaid for sorry ass brunnel. But remember onething, salary cap is no good if its not used. People these days are so concerned about the cap so don't even use all of it.

but on the flip side, that's no excuse to max it out every year on average to below average talent. Our DL and brunell have a lot more money than they should tied up in them... right now i think i rather have AO than brunell and gardner, but i'll wait till the end of the season before i say anything like that for sure ;) |
Brunell has played in two games, let's give the guy a chance before we make the final verdict on his deal. It's way too early to start drawing conclusions on who was a great pickup and who wasn't.
I hope your right Marrtyk72, because to me it quite clear that Brunnel no longer has the physical tools to ba an effective quaterback.
Brunell was still the best fit for the team. Besides being a left handed QB(which I'm not really in favor for), he's mobil & still posses a strong arm. By week 5 we will all be praising Gibbs & his staff.
I trust Brunell over Ramsey. Mark is a smarter QB & once he gels with the guys on his O, he's gonna start firing lasers all over the field. In Gibbs we trust! Hey this is my 100th posting under my new screen name woo hoo!!! |
If we made decisions after 2 games in 1981 we would have run Gibbs and Joey T right out of town. Settle down, it's way to early fellas...
way too early to see how well he does etc, i think its fairly obvious he's overpaid though...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Ramsey starting vs Dallas? Now, if Ramsey plays well (god I hope so) then maybe Brunell is riding the bench for the next couple years.
Brunell has shown me little in the way of arm strength. When I see him complete a pass longer than 7 yards we'll see. |

Focusing too much on stats?...Ya think Quincy Carter would be putting up these types of numbers even with Key and an improved OL? And if not, with a running game thats been struggling, where would we offensively? In the crapper Ya think Parcells wants to throw the ball 42 times a game? Yes he's done in NE but that was before the drafting of Martin, where the balance came forward Bang for the buck man... Vinny, one year 1.1 mil, no draft choice compensation George, 1 year 1.5 mil and a 1.5 mil SB Brunnel, 7 years 43 mil 8.6 mil to sign, 3rd rounder to Jax (Greg Jones, FSU) Portis 8 years, 50 mil 10 plus mil SB for Champ Bailey and a 2nd (Tatum Bell) I guess the 2/3 of all carries Portis had run justify the contract and compensation Portis has received The draft and cap management is way overrated  |
you got a bad deal on george, he really isn't even a good #2 anymore, and 3million is insane for his production. I was saying that because you don't have a running game, you HAVE to pass more, meaning you get more passing yards, which pads your QB's passing stats.
you think you'd pass 43 times with portis over there? i don't, and i don't think you'd have over 600 passing yards either... |
