F Bill Gates for outsourcing jobs to India, for getting tax-payers to pay for construction on his Microsoft campus (like he couldn't afford it), and for trying to bring in more foreigners into America on worker visas when so many American are unemployed. Douche

i want to thank Bill for creating jobs, be they here, be they there. He took(stole) an idea, and most of us right now(this second) are taking advantage of it.

Thank you Bill for being smart enough to get taxpayers to pay for your pet project. I wish i was that creative.

This thread stinks of jealousy.

J.P Morgan did a lot of good things too. He also had the militias, the American Legion, and the police bash in his employee's and their family's brains if they went on strike.

I was just joking to get this thread going. I agree he has done more good then harm and if congress is stupid enough to pay for one his buildings then they are the stupid ones. I don't know why congress agreed to this but if it was to keep and create jobs then it will pay back the tax payers at some point. My brother in law was looking to buy some land and build a new office to get out of paying rent to someone else. One city through up so many road blocks that he told them that he was no longer interested. He went to the next city over and they gave him a bunch of tax breaks as long as 30% of his employee's lived in that city. Well he moved to that city and has 45 employee's and the city has recouped their tax breaks and is now making money off his business. Smart move for goverment in alot of cases but in his he only received tax breaks not cash to help build. This same city owned a bunch of buildings in the older part of town and allowed businesses to open shop in these building for rent free for several years. Now that part of town is booming and the city is raking in the new taxes.

Gates has donated more money then we as a group will ever make. I can see why people would question why the goverment paid for his building but that complaint needs to be directed to the ones who gave him the money. Trickle down economics has nothing to do with getting money from the goverment.

Sorry you are total off on your Reaganomics. He liked the idea of goverment getting out of the way so business can grow but I don't recall him saying we will buy the stuff for you. It was more he said we will give tax breaks and incentives to help business grow.

Microsoft pays a lot of money in taxes and makes a big contribution to our GDP. I suppose they could just move their business to another country and then we'd get nothing.

With that in mind, I don't have a problem with our government treating them "special".

I will say this, F Microsoft. Just got the red ring of death on my 2nd xbox 360. This one lasted about a year and a half, same as my first one. I guess that's the shelf life for these pieces of crap. Good thing I bought a replacement plan.

Not sure why you think he needs to explain it to me as I did not bring up the the fact that the goverment purchased one of his buildings. I just said to the person who brought it up that he sould be made at the goverment not Gate's for that.

This is what I said:

what he aid was the richest needed all the govt help(i.e. tax breaks, and loans) because they were the main supplier of jobs. with more money in the right hands, the economy would grow. now that bill gates took advantage of it, some don't like it

I don't play video games and haven't since Nintendo 64 was the hot system, but I was thinking about dabbling again. I have a bunch of friends who are gamers. What is the red ring of death?

It's when your xbox won't start, and the LED ring around the center button (which is usually green) turns red.

Hey you cannot blame a guy for trying and if people don't like it then they need to look at the people who gave him the money. I'd sure hate to see what he pays in taxes.

And so that's it? Red ring = throw your Xbox away? Unreal.

I guess the positive spin on Microsoft sucking is just think of how many IT/tech jobs have been created due to Microsoft/Windows products being so clunky and inefficient.

It means you send it back to MS if it's still under their warranty, or you better hope you bought a replacement plan at the store. If not, then it's time to sell it broken on ebay for parts.

I have a love hate relation with computers. I just purchased a new computer system for my office and I have no clue how to use all the stuff installed on them. I just took the spec sheet from our home office and gave it to a customer who does business computers systems and told him to get me what was needed. His first price was almost $11,000 then I sat him down and got him to about half that price. He said its a basic office system but I still get lost.
