First Jersey for the Girlfriend
 

So I bought my new HD Samsung TV back in January and it came with a $200 NFL Shop Gift Certificate. It just FINALLY came today, so in addition to getting myself something cool, I've been dating my girlfriend for almost 9 months now, and its going swimmingly, so I want to get her a jersey... my only question is who should I get?

Her favorite player for some reason is Carlos Rogers because of how he dances, but I don't trust him to be here after this year, so I'm not going with him.

Cooley is her second favorite, and while I love Cooley and have a few jerseys of his myself, I kind of want her to have something different...

So who do you guys think? It can be any player, as I might do a customizable one.... Thoughts?

I got the same deal with the Samsung TV. I really want to get one of those Redskins leather recliners, but they're like $1000

Or Laron Landry. They'll both probably be here awhile. Couldn't go wrong with Orakpo either. I gave my GF Kelly last year. Hopefully he gets onto the field and becomes the beast I think he can be. She has Cooley also.

If you want a jersey that is going to be around for awhile, and will be generally noticible to the upstate NY viewing public, I'd go with Landry, but Orakpo and Haynesworth are also good choices.

You can't really go wrong with Cooley though.

It's a risk, but I have a strong feeling that this isn't CR's last year here.

I would get a Devin Thomas Jersey. The 11 has a slimming effect, Not trying to imply anything, But women think about that sort of stuff.

My wife has a Cooley EQT and a Portis authentic (that I have kind of taken for myself because 48 is too big for her but is the smallest that Reebok makes). But I think her favorite is a London Fletcher replica and you don't see many of those around. Of course he probably won't be around for the long haul given his age.

Dude! You don't know women, do you! Get her the Carlos Rogers and you will be loved! It's not about what you want, it's about what she wants. Trust me, I've been married 34 years! And stop worrying about whether CR will still be here.

That's hilarious that you said that. My girlfriend and I were talking about Redskins apparel on Thursday afternoon. She has a few t-shirts, a sweat shirt, and even the thong (yeah, I'm lucky), but no jersey. Mind you she grew up in Orlando and didn't even follow pro football until she and I started dating, so her allegiance to the Skins has gradually grown over the past few years. She's thinking of getting a Campbell jersey, but she said, "I think I'd look more trim wearing that receiver who has #11" Not like she's heavy, but yeah, chicks are chicks. They're probably worried about chewing gum making them look fat.

That said Gmanc, I'd get her the Rogers. It's her favorite player.

Get her a Taylor. If you already have a Taylor, go with the other color OR get her the Pro Bowl Taylor jersey. I just got that one myself recently & I love it.

If you do end up getting a Taylor this might be one of your last chances to do so from NFLShop. They are no longer making customized Sean Taylor jerseys and once the pre-made jerseys sell out they are not going to make any more.

Go with Chris Horton. . something tells me he's going to be around for more than a few seasons. Actually anyone who starts in our secondary is going to have nice stats this year, so you may as well go with Carlos Rogers

Hahaha.... I've decided to go with Cooley... I really can't go wrong with it.. she doesnt really know a ton of the players and likes Cooley, Rogers and Campbell.... She watched the team with me when they were DREADFUL last year... so there werent a whole lot of people she really liked lol ....

I would of bought the Carlos Rogers one because hes her favorite player and I dont see us letting Rogers walk next year. Chris Cooley was a good choice though and if Rogers does leave it would end up being the perfect choice.

You really cant go wrong with either and I hope she likes it.
