Foot Odor
Ok my feet generally do not stink but this time of year, summer, is when I get in some trouble.
I love sandals/ flip flops but I can hardly wear them becasue my feet after about an hour or two could drop a horse. Sandals tend to be the bigger issue. Does anyone have suggestions as to a good pair of snadals that help your feet breath? I think the issue is I don't have socks on so the sweat is just pooling up. I even spray them with foot spray before wering the sandles but no luck. Sorry if this is a bit too TMI. |

Re: Foot Odor
What kind of sandals do you wear? Could you drop some odor eaters into those bad boys? Maybe your feet are just naturally rank and you should stick with socks and sneaks?

Basically ones like thes. Dockers Hogan Sandals I am just wondering if there is a more expensive sandal that somebody on here has used that keep their feet dry. I should try the odor eaters I guss they would stay in. |
Re: Foot Odor
Maybe its because they are leather and slightly gay looking. LOL

The the bottoms are much less permeable than regular shoes and of course no socks also means the moisture just hangs out right on the feet and doesn't wick away at all. You might find some flip-flops that are made of better wicking materials..and maybe some sandals but I have never seen any sandals with that type of wicking. They make them pretty rugged and that means less wicking usually. |

If they were made of suede would they not be gay?? Seriously are you a five year old trapped in an old mans body?? |

I will try but I think I am just going to get a pair of good flip flops. |
Re: Foot Odor
I'm sure it could be done but you just can't use oder eaters with sandals. If you decide to try that 1) I hope your married 2) If your not married DO NOT wear them if your trying to meet a girl or going on a date.

They suggest this: Shoe it away. Choose open shoes such as sandals whenever possible, because they allow air onto the feet, which helps evaporate sweat and slows the growth of odor-causing bacteria. If sandals aren't an option, choose leather or canvas shoes, which breathe a bit, and avoid shoes that are lined with solid rubber or synthetic materials. I may just stick to sneakers. |

Its great to never really grow up. Joking aside I think its the leather that is the issue. |
Re: Foot Odor
This reminded me of a funny story...
One time some friends came over to my house, and there was a guy I'd never met before with them. I have people take off their shoes in my house, so I told everyone to do so. This guy says if he takes off his flip-flops his feet will smell, and I'm thinking, "Whatever, you're wearing flip-flops!" Turns out he was right. I've never smelled worse feet, and having the flip-flops on made all the difference in the world. |
Re: Foot Odor
Doesn't silver kill foot odor causing bacteria? If so, problem solved. Buy some expensive silverware, and tape a spoon to your foot. Seriously though, i've bought some dress shoes in the past that had a silver insert sewn into the insole. Maybe there's some sandals with a similar feature?

Re: Foot Odor
lol anyone ever hear of Sour Shoes?
If you listen to Stern you know what I'm talking about. His songs crack me up. |
Re: Foot Odor
So if you strap on a pair of these, you should be set.

Other than children, I have never seen a guy wearing those. I don't know, maybe I'm just not that observant. BTW, My 3 year old was bought a pair of these a couple of weeks ago and he won't even wear them. |
Re: Foot Odor
crocs are just awful, any guy who wears those should automatically forfeit their man card
|
Re: Foot Odor
mredskins, the part about your foot odor being able to "drop a horse" cracked me up.
Seriously though, go see a dermatologist. When I was in high school I had an issue with excessive perspiration. I tried every different kind of anti-perspirant imaginable, and I still would sweat through my shirts every day. The dermatologist gave me some perscription stuff that worked really well. Fortunately these days I get by just fine with good old Sure. Anyway, you should consider it. |

Hmmm...head down to the docks in Annapolis and start collecting Man Cards. If you got crocs on, a poped collar and a sweater thrown over your shoulders you are definitly gay. |

I think Matty is right I am just going to have to be a sneaker guy for life. |

I can't believe any self-respecting gay man would wear crocs. Maybe some bull dikes, but no gay dude. (is bull dike socially acceptable?) lol |

That's weird that your feet sweat like that in sandals but not in sneakers. Strange. Still, it may be worth talking to a dermatologist. He may be able to give you some kind of spray or something that will help. |

Now that would make sense but not out in public. I though crocks were more like the sandals posted on the first page of this thread. |
Re: Foot Odor
What is wrong with Crocks? I do not wear them, but my father my son and my daughters do. I have always heard that they are comfortable and a good alternative to water shoes when you are going fishing. I am actually thinking about getting a pair.

If you wear them in the water, only, nothing. But you can't wear them in public. Just can't. Kids get a pass, i guess. |
