Which Non-Redskins Will "Break Out" in 2009?

Name a player, who does not play for the Redskins, who you think will have a breakout season in 2009. I've been watching NFL Rewind and, I hate to say it, but a guy who really stocks out is Felix Jones. The guy is as explosive as any back out there right now and, if he stays healthy, should be primed for a big year.

Percy Harvin, guy is a playmaker and with teams stackin up to stop AP that only helps to put him in good situations.

While we're in the hate to say it mode, I'm going with any Giant, Cowboy, or Eagle.

Gregg Olsen, TE Bears.

Cutler is going to rely on somebody, and we all know it won't be one of the WRs. Olsen has the athleticism and the skill set.

Chris Long, DE, Rams. I predict that rookie issues for him are over and he is now ready to ball out.

Schneed beat me to Olsen.

I'll go with Brady Quinn.

Steve Slaton won't necessarily breakout but I think with the Texans being a playoff team (losing to the Redskins in the Super Bowl :) ) his name will be on more people's radars.

Lb) Rivers , Bengals . And whoever is playing cb against the cowpukes week one , returning two of romo's int's for TD's :) The one guy that I do not want to have a breakout year is LB ) Spencer , cowturds .

I agree. He had something like 57 catches last year but I think he'll really stand out this year.

KC's lesser version of Randy Moss--------Dwayne Bowe.
KC's lesser version of Randy Moss--------Dwayne Bowe.
Good pick.

I like Donnie Avery, just to throw out another name.

In fact, here's a list:

Amobi Okoye, DT, Houston
Leon Hall, CB, Cincinnati
Sedrick Ellis, DT, New Orleans
Dustin Keller, TE, NY Jets
Domata Peko, DT, Cincinnati
Paul Pozluzny, Buffalo
Derrick Harvey, DE, Jacksonville
Brandon Carr, CB, Kansas City
Brent Celek, TE, Philadelphia
Tyrell Johnson, S, Minnesota
Jordy Nelson, WR, Green Bay
Aqib Talib, CB, Tampa Bay (didn't like him out of Kansas, but he did good things last year)

I also agree with the Chris Long and Gaines Adams picks, although we might be a year too soon on Long.

There is just something about Pierre Thomas from NO that I like. He runs hard and hits the hole fast. He should put up good numbers this year.

Alex Mack. Why wait? He'll have a breakout year in his first year. He just signed with the Browns and is a heavy favorite to start.

Everyone has picked up all the positions except Safety. So I'll say whoever the top Safety was this yr will be Rookie of the yr...outside the Skins. I would love to see Orakpo get that simply by making interceptions and sacks.

Vernon Davis. If he doesn't, no team will want him after the expectations on him out of college.

Not to pick on you in particular, but I think any of the Cowboy break-out predictions won't be correct. ESPECIALLY with TO gone and the double coverage he drew, no way that Miles Austin breaks out this year. If anything, his production might drop off.

I feel the same about Felix Jones. I TRULY think the Cowboys passing game will take a huge step back this year and teams will be stacking the box against the run.

Hasn't D. Harvey really been criticized for his poor play? Didn't see much of them last year but I recall that J'ville was unhappy w/him after trading up to get him & paying him top 10 $.

Re: Which Non-Redskins Will "Break Out" in 2009?

I like the Vernon Davis call, and I'm gonna go w/another 49er since I think they will be a tough team: Josh Morgan, WR.
Not a pro bowl type year, but becomes a starter & makes plays for a winning team.

I would also consider Shaun Hill or Alex Smith, whoever is gonna start for them. I think that team is headed in the right direction w/Singletary.

They're both talented speed guys. Jones will have a big year if he's healthy, that guy is gonna give us fits catching the ball out of the backfield. I'm not sure austin will have a big year, but he'll make a lot of plays.

Okoye in Houston. They are in a similar type of season as us, another 8-8 season won't do. Their defense has the potential to be excellent and they had a top 10 offense last year. They need Okoye to step up and make big plays this year next to Mario Williams.

I'm not sure if Okoye will break out or not, but I definitely agree with your sentiments about Houston as a team. They could very well be this year's Arizona Cardinals.

Now that Favre has confirmed he won't play this year....I'm going to say Tarvaris Jackson. I think he beats out Sage in training camp and puts together a strong season
