Not bashing LaVar, but where was he?
 

Do you think LaVar being up in the pressbox early in the game had any ill effect on the defense? I saw a shot of him up in the pressbox, not sure if it was the owners box or not, but he's the leader of the defense and I think his emotion is contagious and sets the tone. I didn't see any shots of him on the sidelines, I want him down there encouraging guys, challenging his teammates, and helping guys. Maybe he did, but I didn't see it. Think Ray Lewis would be sitting in a press box if he couldn't play?

I think it's mearly trivial where an injured player sits to watch the game. Who says he cannot cheer the team by sitting with the owner?

Maybe Snyder had a guest who wanted to meet LaVar and invited LaVar up there. Since he was injured and all.

I think Le Varr belonged on the field with his teammates, not up in the owner's box. It sends the wrong message to the team - that Le Varr is somehow one of the owner's favorites and deserving of special treatment.

I remember the same things being done for Deion, when he was here. There were reports that Snyder flew him on his personal jet and other similar stories.

The team can only be successful if all players consider themselves equally important to the team's success. Coaches and the owner cannot show favoritism or you risk destroying the subtle chemistry that makes a team a champion.

I love Le Varr as a player, but sometimes I think he values himself way too much. He said on the John Thompson show on Monday that he believes, had he played, that he would have been the difference. He might well be right, but that's not something you boast about in public.

Maybe he really isn't supposed to be walking on his knee at all, and that's why he was offered a seat in the box. Maybe the coaches told him to view the game from up there so that he could see what the defense is/ needs to be doing. It's not right to call him out on something that we know nothing about.

I think nit picking about where Lavar was or wasn't is irrevelant. I'm sure had we won you wouldn't have posted this thread. Lavar wasn't the reason we lost this game nor was his absence greatly missed. Let's not become so ingrossed with finding a scapegoat for our shortcomings. Some of us as fans sometimes demand too much of the players while forgeting that these are grown ass men who do not enjoy sitting on the sidelines when they have the desire to go out there even if it further damages their injuries. Come on by now, you should not be questioning where Lavar 's loyalty is with regard to his teammates. Breath. :cheeky-sm Let it go. You can do it.

knowing what i think i know of LaVar, he probably went up there to get a new perspective on the game and used it to learn more at his position.

He just had surgery do you want him being wheeled around in a whell chair on the sideline?

Exactly! Plus, I bet if they were on their way to winning the game, towards the end he would have "appeared" on the sideline to be with and congratulate his teammates...

i bet LaVar on crutches was in the locker room afterwards STILL making sure no one laughed after the loss.

when we caught him smiling if was only halftime and the offense had been showing more life than it had all season.

First, I never questioned his loyalty so that's a non-issue. I just think LaVar's energy is extremely important to our defense. Sitting in the press box denies the team of that energy. So are you saying that he's unimportant?

Linebacker LaVar Arrington, who is expected to miss at least one more game after undergoing minor knee surgery last week, called into a postgame radio talk show early yesterday morning after the Redskins' loss to Dallas to implore fans not to get too down on the team.

Arrington, who is still on crutches, phoned in around 2:15 a.m. on his way home from the game, which he watched from a suite at FedEx Field. "I'm a fan," Arrington said. "I was heckling Dallas fans and everything."

Lavar is by far the leader of this team. I don't even know why we even have to question it. He's proved time and time again that he's committed to this franchise.

To me, where he watches the game from is a non-issue. I didn't see a lack of energy from the D on Monday night, they seemed to be fine to me.

Is Jansen any less important than LaVar? He's one of the unquestioned leaders on offense, yet I haven't heard anyone question him watching the games up in the box.

It just seems to me that people are very quick to point fingers at LaVar.

His energy is usually on display between the sidelines. He's not the kind of guy that gets up in your face to pump you up on the sidelines.

Another thing that people are forgetting is that LaVar was probably still on meds which put him in a *happier* place.

I would like to chime in on this. let me start by saying I am really not worried to much about being 1 and 2. Like Lavar said it is growing pains and beleive they will turn it around. I love the skins and even if they were 0 and 3 I would beleive whatever lavar said. But He is the leader of that team, and as the leader should be on the sidelines coaching players and keeping team moral up. I know I watched the game they did not quite, but the defense did give up a few big crucial plays. I have had many surgerys on my knees including a complete tear of the meniscus and they only time i was in a wheel chair was immediately after the surgery when they wheeled me to my car. I was on crutches for 3 days, and was playing football 2 weeks later (granted I was young) so I know he could have been on that sideline. If he was up there to visit or whatever that is fine he visits and then rejoins his team. Now as for Jansens injury that was a serious injury that did put him in a wheel chair so I understand why he is not on the sideline, but I would expect him to be down there in a few weeks once the injury as heeled and he is able to walk on crutches or whatever. I am not questioning Lavars heart or his energy or his leadership skills or anything. All I am saying is if that was me, being the leader I would want to be with the troops. I know i would have been on that sideline. I know lavar bleeds burgundy and gold just giving my opinion.

i think he should have had his ass on the sidelines personally helping the guys that were able to play.i love lavar,but you would never see LT or ray lewis in the owners box laughing during a g**d**N game against a hated rival like dallas.he could have meet whomever after the game.he should have had his ass on the sideline like mike barrow.not bashing LA,but he screwed the pooch on that one guys.

In what way did he screw this one up? If he was in the owners box with Dan the man you may see a player lording it up but I see a player showing he is not totally at odds with the ownership. Yes he could have been on the sideline, he could have been anywhere in the damn stadium but by being where was said more about how he feals about the team and owner with who he is due to go to arbitration with later next month

That's what I would want to do, could help him become a better LB, by giving him a different perspective of how an offense tries to attack his position.

I just want him relaxing and getting healthy enough to be back on the field and if he can also use this to help repair the damaged relationship between him and Snyder then I'm all for it. It's not like he's really mobile now and what would any body bringing this up say if he had been on the sideline and maybe couldnt get out of the way of someone barreling out of bounds fast enough and caused his injury to become something that kept him out the rest of the year? I say get off his back, he's the captain of our defense for a reason.

you guys sound like fools, lmao, arrington should be on the sidelines.

first of all, they dont need him threre from what i see, 50 yards total rushing. second, cowboys were handed a TD and lavar couldnt have stopped that emotionally or helped emotionally. third, it looked like our secondary got beat more than the lb's in that game. pierce had one bad play but with no help on the outside in the endzone. and washington had a slip up on that third down conversion that the TE for the cowboys caught and ran for the 1st that pretty much clinched it. so how does this fall into lavars hands when the run D gave up 50 yards the whole game??? we were two pass interference calls away from you not giving a damn.

we only needed one of those calls, not two ;)

lemar just isn't that hot though... its a big drop off.

sorry guys,when i saw him he was jumping around with a drink in his hand.i'm not bashing him,but he did not need to be doing that shit.i have yet to see jansen doing anything but watching the game and looking very pissed he can't play.
