Usain Bolt WR (non-Redskins related)
This guy is from another planet, he shattered his 9.69 record with a 9.58 second time in Berlin today. It's actually the first time I've seen him run seriously without goofing off. The scary thing is that he can still break that time, can you imagine if he could catch balls?

the giants already tried him out

how long until drug allegations?

Re: Usain Bolt WR (non-Redskins related)
 there is already a video of him trying to run with pads, and he sucks. Plus I think we have made a thread about this. Research before posting is my mantra.

This is about a shattering WORLD RECORD not his WR skills and by the way I started the other thread. Sorry if the WR in the title mislead you. |
Re: Usain Bolt WR (non-Redskins related)
It would be "insane" to think that "Usain" could play WR in the NFL. YeaH!
|
Re: Usain Bolt WR (non-Redskins related)
Another Bullet Bob Hayes? Unfortunately he can't catch but this dude is scary fast. He's pretty amazing.

Re: Usain Bolt WR (non-Redskins related)
they've tried sprinters, soccer players, etc as other positions on the field
it doesn't work like that |

it doesn't work like that
When athletes get to the pro level at any sport, they usually need to commit full-time only to one sport because that's what it usually takes to be competitive in that sport. There are exceptions, but you wonder how good some of these athletes could be if they stuck to just one. I guess only Bo would know. ;) |
Re: Usain Bolt WR (non-Redskins related)
As a Jamaican, he was never exposed to the NFL so it would take a while for him to learn all the rules, and understand the intricacies of the game.
His race today was amazing. He looked like he let up again in the last 10 meters. I think once he gets back to the shape he was in during the Olympics, the WR set today will be shattered |
Re: Usain Bolt WR (non-Redskins related)
a lot of florida gators and trindon holliday of LSU, are great football players, and compete in a lot of national track tournaments and place pretty highly. Not saying there Usain bolts or Tyson gays, but there still track stars.

Re: Usain Bolt WR (non-Redskins related)
Not going to happen. I believe the Chargers also worked him out a few years ago.
|
Re: Usain Bolt WR (non-Redskins related)
He did it again, 19.19 on the 200 beating his old world record of 19.30.

Its amazing how much money you can make running 100 meters. How much they pay for the shuttle run? |
Re: Usain Bolt WR (non-Redskins related)
Bolt is phenomenal!

That's pretty cool...did you talk to him at all? I am actually surprised we don't see him with more endorsements...after Phelps won his medals, he was everywhere. Where is Bolt? |

:laughing2 Maybe we should give YOU a tryout bud! |
Re: Usain Bolt WR (non-Redskins related)
The dude is defying the natural evolution of human speed- to absolutely destroy the field in a race as short as the 100 or 200 is bonkers. Tyson Gay ran a 9.71 in the 100 final- 3rd fastest time ever... and Bolt made him look like he was standing still. The fact he's 6'5" is even crazier- the world's elite sprinters are usually around 5'11" to 6'1". Bolt averages three less strides in the 100 than most sprinters, so it's pretty amazing.
While questions of juicing are inevitable (I'd expect them to be with his sheer dominance), I'd be shocked if he was... I just think the dude's a freak of nature and we're not likely to see another sprinter like him in a long time. The fact he always pulls up in the last 10 meters leads me to believe he's just on another planet from anyone else (and the fact it makes it easier to earn another 100K every time he breaks his own record). |
Re: Usain Bolt WR (non-Redskins related)
I just heard a Track reporter say Bolt could run the 40 in 3.82 seconds going by his recent runs. DAMN!!!

That's Madden 95 type speed there. I miss running the 40 by pushing the buttons rather than using the thumbsticks. Having a turbo controller was a big help. |

DAMN!!!
I watched the coverage of his 200M world record last night, and it was said that he covered the final 40 meters in 2.9 seconds, meaning that his peak cruising speed is right around 30 MPH - THE MAN IS A FREAK OF NATURE!!! The records that he's setting may stand for 20+ years.

I don't think he could pull that off... if you watch his 100 races, he pulls away during the last 55-60 meters. The 40 relies heavily on the start and all sprinters don't reach top speed until after the first few seconds. |

I don't know how the guy calculated it but he pretty much stands by it. But of course I agree about not reaching top speed right away. |

No doubt... but I also think starting off blocks and running on a track gives a bit of an advantage over three point stance on grass too. Regardless, he's be pretty swift in the 40- I actually think Asafa Powell may be better in a straight burst race like the 40. |
Re: Usain Bolt WR (non-Redskins related)
Speed kills but speed is worthless if you can't run routs, elude tacklers and catch the ball. You're just worthless as a decoy if you can't do any of these things. I'll Pass.

Colt Brennen would've levitated over to the pineapple and kicked both of your asses... |
