It's probably true too. |

I'd be really really surprised if he doesn't join the Vikings within the next month

I would boo his ass off if I attended a game in which he was playing. QBs in order of most hated by Schneed:
1) Vick 2) (left intentionally blank because Vick is hated that much) 3) Tie: Favre & Romo 4) Eli |

re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
If he does sign with the Vikes, I'm pretty sure that he will play poorly, embarrass himself, and tarnish his reputation, especially with Green Bay folks. What a foolish man he is.
|
re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
Colin Cowherd has reported that he signed w/ the Vikes one year 12 mil. Someone stop the madness. Farve has to be the biggest diva in the NFL.
|
re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
Please go away Brett Farve
|
re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
I hope he plays. He wants a just one game with him vs. GB and that will be great to watch.
He's got nothing in the tank but I love watching fighters give all they got in their last gasp...it will be a spectacle if he makes it to that game. |
re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
unbelievable. Anybody see the Rocky movie that came out this year(maybe last) Favre must want to imitate Balboa.

all the hatred is unnecssary..if he was wearing the b & g this year we would win more games..the man just wants to play..

re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
so ya gotta ask, was he waiting for Vick to sign so he wouldn't get upstaged?
Who cares. This guy is an attention whore, always has been.
I'm no Favre apologist, but I think it has more to do with a common story line. A player/coach displays a genuine side, he gets celebrated for the image that his otherwise genuine nature reflects, but then he gets caught up in that image and starts overtly trying to preserve it, and suddenly starts looking like a phony. That's certainly the Favre story line. I don't know if he always was an attention whore, but I certainly agree he is now. |

i have no problem w/ him playing. but be a professional and stop being a diva, crybaby, selfish, high maintenence drama queen.....aka clinton portis. if he wanted to REALLY play then go to training camp, mini camp and ota practices. i blame the vikings more than i blame farve. this is going to blow up in their face when he throws 4 picks and then cries about making the wrong decision. |
re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
Schefter reporting it's a done deal pending passing a physical. 2 years $10-$12M.
What a circus act he's become. |
so ya gotta ask, was he waiting for Vick to sign so he wouldn't get upstaged?
Maybe. Maybe he just didn't want to deal with training camp. |
re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
I don't like him his best days are behind him. I think Favre needs a hug he wants to be wanted, have you seen how many INT 310 to TD's 465 a diff of 155 wow thats not much of a difference IMO it equals for every 3 TD's he throws 2 INT's. They give him to much leway and if he had the B & G i would be mad very mad, madder than if Cutler or Sanchez had it on.
Maybe. Maybe he just didn't want to deal with training camp.
Exactly. Not only was he dishonest and deceitful about his intentions, he was a total puss about it too- skipping out on camp and a chance to get to know his new teammates knowing damn well he was gonna sign anyway. Now he enters his time in Minnesota with an air of superiority. The guys in that locker room are friends with Sage and Tavaris, and have been working their butts off side by side with them in training camp. Now comes this old diva, who with no preparation or work whatsoever will unseat the other two QBs and simply fall into the starting lineup. Shitty for chemistry IMO. I can't stand Favre anymore. It's a shame. I used to love the guy. I'm not gonna lie, I hope he falls falt on his face with this comeback attempt. He needs to go away. |
Maybe. Maybe he just didn't want to deal with training camp.
Yeah, but didn't the Vikings originally say he had to be there for TC? oh well, it will be interesting. |
re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
This has gotten ridiculous. I used to love Brett Favre, now I just want to go away...that's saying a lot. I'm still going to root for the guy, but I have no faith in him actually doing all that well. He's certainly an upgrade over what they had, but it could still be a pretty brutal season for them.
The thing I don't get is why would the Vikes go after him? They don't need a guy who's going to take the chances that Brett is going to take. It makes a lot more sense to have Tavaris in there trying to manage games and occasionally trying to make big throws. It seems like Favre takes the opposite approach to a lot of games, with their running attack and D, they should be a team that controls the clock and wins 13-6 each week, if necessary, you add Favre and you'll probably put up 35 one week and then he'll throw 3 picks the next week. This is a big risk for Minnesota. |
re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
Was gonna start a thread ...but said NAH. This isn't talk, Farve will be a Vik by days end. All left is a pending physical and put a bow on this package!
Farve is a VIKING, its just a statement from BF and the viks that has to be released at this point! This is a done deal. Source says Brett Favre will sign with Minnesota Vikings pending a physical - ESPN |

This is a big risk for Minnesota.
It really is. Minnesota felt like they upgraded their QB position this year by bringing in Sage Rosenfels and having Tavaris with one more year under his belt. On that note, if you compare the combined numbers of Vikings' QBs last year with Favre's numbers last year, VERY similar. Both with 22 TDs, Favre with more picks, both with ratings of 81, and the Vikings actually won one more game than the Jets. And Favre turns 40 this year. Whatever, Minnesota. Enjoy. |

The guy has mental problems. He can still play, but I sure am sick of hearing his name.

re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
favre used to be one of my fav non skins players just b/c he stuck with the same team so long, always played his butt off and did some special things in the league. watching him in green bay was watching a future first ballot hall of famer in his prime, it and he was special.
that being said, this has gotten out of control. i understood last year that he wanted away from GB b/c they wouldnt commit to him as the starter and he didnt want to ride into the sunset on the bench but this .. . is . . . beyond me now. i hope he does well in minny. go skins!! |
The guy has mental problems. He can still play, but I sure am sick of hearing his name.
The media has far more mental problems than the guy who likes to play football. THEY are to blame for us being sick of his name with their daily "FAVRE WATCH" and leading off segments/front pages and constant baseless talk about him. Sure he has changed his mind in the past, but the reason we're sick of Brett Favre is NOT Brett Favre, it's the perverted love affair the media has with him. They overblow and prolong every decision the man tries to make. If he can still play, I don't care about him coming back. Even if he can't play...who cares, he'll be ruining one of the NFC's Super Bowl contenders, not MY team. |

But the fact remains that Favre has become a circus. Retiring, un-retiring, BS press conferences about being done for good, etc etc. That's all him. The media didn't make him do it. And don't give me the whole, "he just loves to play," bit. If he loved the game that much at this point, he would never have retired to begin with. He just would have kept showing up until his wheels fell off. Ever since Aaron Rogers was ready to take the reins in GB, Favre's MO has been all about sticking it to Ted Thompson and the Packers front office. This isn't about the love of the game. Not even close. Otherwise, why is Minnesota the ONLY team he considered playing for? I mean, his career numbers in the Metrodome have been pretty bad. Why Minny? Who is their arch rival? Exactly. And what the hell was last year about? He didn't give a rat's ass about the Jets. He couldn't sign with Minny last year, so the Jets were nothing but a big payday stop-gap until he could stick it to the Packers in Minnesota. He's had playing for the Vikings in his head since the day the Packers bid him adieu. |
re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
I think Favre and the Vikes knew this was the plan all along. He wanted to skip out on the start of camp, to "rest his arm" and now he's back just in time to snatch away the starting job. People are kidding themselves if they think this just happened out of the blue.
|
re: Update: Favre Returns (Again); Signs with Vikings
I think Rosenfelds will get the starting job after Favre starts to throw interceptions all over the place. He's no better than a backup at this stage of his career.
