"This is not limited to one team." Wouldn't it be funny if they busted the Giants for tampering with AH? They were interested in him.

SBXVII 09-03-2009 11:32 PM

Re: Update on Haynesworth Tampering Charges

Their probably just following up on all the teams AH said was interested in him so it doesn't look like he stopped with the Skins. That either could mean he's got info against the Skins and doesn't want to hear the bitching about why he didn't look at the Giants and Tampa also or he's got some specific evidence that appears the Skins did not partake and he's trying to figure out which team it was. ....or he's just digging a whole to see what comes out of it.

I hope we don't lose a draft pick. That would certainly suck.

I still think the chances of us being found guilty are slim. I sure hope so anyway.

We didn't tamper. The Danny just happened to have dinner w/ a the agent of some Skins players, who happened to be AH's agent. Nothing to see there. 100 million dollar deals are worked from start to finish in just hours all of the time. No biggie.

Any conclusion drawn from the dinner with the agent is purely speculation. One could easily assume and draw that conclusion but again it's proof that's needed, and I haven't seen any proof, just a speculative asumption.

If nothing has come from this by now, I highly doubt the Skins will be found guilty of tampering.

i have a some concerns with haynesworth. I have watched several interviews with him and he seems lost. He just seems like he is just signed here cause of the money. I hope i am wrong but he needs to step up and cause some pressure, even if its someone else cause hes double teamed.

Re: Update on Haynesworth Tampering Charges

I saw today's interview, and it seemed to me is what he is not used to dealing with NFC East press. I think that is gonna be more of a learning curve then on the field. Everything I have seen, the hit on Brady included, excites the heck out of me. Eli will be shell shocked on Sunday, count on it!

Re: Update on Haynesworth Tampering Charges

I don't think AH cares who lines up on the other side of the ball and the questions sound a little "dumb" to him. Just like how they kept pushing Jacobs being a big back. The man is huge, what does he care how big a RB is? Most players would rather play than talk, I think he's one of those. Interviews are just part of the job.

This.

Every interview the man does the subtext of his response is always why do you people ask such mundane boring questions over and over and how can I make my response as quick and boring as possible so you will go away.

I could really care less how he comes off in an interview. For the record I think his interviews are fine for what it's worth. He just needs to tear it up on Sundays.

You have concerns based on interviews?

Personally every time I've seen him get asked about the money he reitarated the fact that his goal is to be the very best on the football field and he is ready to prove that.

Really...who was gonna rat?

Speck? He got his commission...no reason to piss a team off.
Haynesworth?...he seems to truly not like losing...he's not gonna put us in a bind.

That leaves who? Unless Speck and/or Haynesworth are walking around telling stories about how the deal got done in February then this was all a wild goose chase instigated by a sour grapes team who wouldn't pony up the cash to keep one of their best players.

I was talking about a few Skins fans that seemed to be reveling in the possibility of Snyder getting punished by the league for tampering.

Re: Update on Haynesworth Tampering Charges

im not reveling in the possibility of the DS gettin punished for tampering. i just think the no-tampering thing is a gentlemen's agreement that another owner/gm wont talk with a player or his agent before FA begins.

like its been said, tampering is hard to prove unless there is a leak or emails or something tangible. but that doesnt make it right.

the fact that the DS goes out to dinner with AH's agent before FA is a sign of disrespect to the other owners.

do any of you really think he was there to talk about kelly and didnt mention AH? really?

just b/c it cant be proven to a level to warrant a sanction doesnt mean it didnt happen and doesnt mean certain fans like myself will not be ahsamed and embarrased.

have you guys no pride? no honor? no respect for the other 31 teams and owners?

and dont tell me everyone does it, you'll sound like an 8 year old.

go skins!

im surprised im the only one who isnt ok with it.

You sound like a kindergarten teacher. We're talking about the NFL here. Billions of dollars at stake. You don't want to hear that everybody does it, fine I won't tell you that. Just keep believing that Snyder is the only owner ever to have dinner with an agent

name an owner who had dinner with a marquee FA before FA began this past offseason?
thats an honest question, i dont know the answer b/c i havent heard about anyone except the DS but there might have been others.

i know everyone does it to degrees. if the DS had kept it somewhat quiet instead of going out to dinner i wouldn't have as much of a problem with it but instead he does it in a flaunting manner.

can we agree that he most likely talked about AH? atleast alil?

can we agree that the DS could have done it in a less open and obvious way like all the other teams do?

im not upset by the actual tampering but by the way and fashion the DS did it. just came across as blatant and disrespectful.

difference of opinions. no biggie.

I think this is a bit ridiculous given that Bill Parcells signed Justin Smiley within the first 15 minutes of free agency back in 2008, yet no one made any noise about it. I personally think this is a worst situation than what Snyder may have done. That being said, given his high profile he should have been careful about it, but I think signing a free agent within the first minutes of free agency is more blatant than what Snyder did.

So he can only go out with agents durn FA because these agents represent players from different teams and any other time from what your saying would be in poor judgement.

So if he did it behind closed doors then it kind of OK but sense he went out to dinner in public its not OK. Maybe he went out in public because he was not trying to hide anything nor doing anything wrong. Its the person doing things behind closed doors I worry about.

Sorry but everybody does do it to varying degrees. Not sure why as fans would be ashamed or embarrassed over this common business practice. It's not an issue exclusive to the Redskins or Dan Snyder.

Who gives a Fuck we didn't lose our draft picks and we got Big Al that's all that matters, you can go knit your sweater suck your thumb and cry about right and wrong on your own. All teams have something they are doing under the radar, and if you think that's not true, that's some potent sh you 're smoking. Anytime we win in a situation like that I'm happy, and not looking for a way to have our team punished. It is ridiculous to hear this coming from a supposed Skins fan I'd expect that from Sandtrap Jack not a Skins fan...

I think the point is that NO ONE CARES! It is common practice. If you want to debate that then do so. Don't debate a point that no one else seems to be debating.

You know what's some bullsh*t too? Those donkey dicks down in Tenn. weren't going to resign him anyways and they knew it then and afterward. They'd already made their offer that he rejected BEFORE the supposed "Speck/DS meeting on Malcolm Kelly that was really on Haynesworth". They're just being sh*ts to be sh*ts I think. You lost boys. Learn to pay up for good players and you don't need to worry about other teams taking them.

Re: Update on Haynesworth Tampering Charges

I think that the board came to a fair and reasonable decision, we've said all along that we followed the rules and guidelines stated by the NFL regarding Free Agents. We've always adhered to the limits that the league sets. Oh yeah and by the way SUCK MY BALLS !!!!! SHOW ME THE TAPE !!!!

I'm sure Snyder thinks about when he "made" the Haynesworth deal. Sitting at a table he has small talk about the market and where it may be heading. Around this time a tall slender woman with Jet Black hair walks up and says, "Sirs, your Steaks have arrived"

Thank you they reply in unison.

"You know these steaks are great"

"I sure hope so, smells great. Looks like it's gonna be worth the trip"

"Sure they will. You know a guy like me, I know a place where they have a steak that tastes like 100 million dollars."

The other gentleman looks and says, "Well, some folks would pay more:"

"Well if you deliver me a steak, I can guarantee 41,....they gotta steak like that"

Well then it looks like we'll be talking.

Then he laughs and takes a toke on his SJ-9 and looks down on his pile of coins ala Scrooge McDuck !

Dan Snyder !
