Ok so I am bored, but I am equally upset about this issue.

The building where I work has 3 urinals in the bathroom and a bunch of stalls. So I am clearly a noob at work, but I was always under the impression that it was standard male public bathroom policy to pick the side urinals first. Meaning if I come in to an empty bathroom, I should take the two side urinals over the middle one. Obviously if one is dirty or not functional, then we go for the middle.

I know it isn't that bad, [B]but [/B]what I have noticed, if I am the only one in the bathroom and I pick the far left or right urinal, the next person that comes in sometimes takes the right next to me. Is that wrong that it kinda bugs me? Not in a homophobic way or anything, but more of a "get outta my personal space" way. I mean if the option is available why pic k a stall next to an occupied one?

Call me out if I am crazy haha...

No way man you're not crazy at all, you're simply upholding basic man-code which we're all supposed to be instrinsically born with.

When a dude violates the man code in such an egregious fashion, it makes me question his social intelligence and his manhood.

I'm with you all the way. Same thing applies to stalls when taking a grumper!

I'm with you 100%. I've always found public restrooms awkward and gross, and I definitely have personal space issues when in them. Also, I'm very much against dropping a deuce in a public restroom. It's got to be a serious emergency. I'm all about the home field.

It's funny you bring that up. Our office has 5 floors, our company being on the first. Whenever I need to drop a deuce, I go to the 3rd floor, as there is only one tiny office up there. The cleaning crew comes through around lunch, so right after lunch and 3rd floor is a quiet/clean place to do your thing.

But yeah you and Schneed, thanks for the support. I thought it was weird that I was bothered this much.

Okay, at my work, we have 3 urinals - BUT the left urinal is the typical low urinal for kids (why, in a professional building w/out regular chilrdren visitors are one third of all urinals for kids, I have no clue). My feeling is that kid urinal is disqualified and that if both regulars are unoccupied you pick the one to the far wall. If it is occupied, it is okay to use the standard size middle rather than go straight to a stall or use the kiddy pisser.
The is a lot of space between the pissers so it's not like ur shoulder to shoulder (or even that close).

But in the example above, what effect, if any, would a kiddy pisser have?

What cracks me up is the most is that we ALL think the same thing and when I do it I'm like, "I bet I'm the only weird one."

Also, does anyone else do the fake hand wash because you don't want to seen dirty? I HATE HATE HATE the soap in those bathrooms so I need to wash my hands in a real bathroom with real soap so if someone is there, at risk of looking disgusting, I'll just run them under water for maybe 2 seconds and then just throw away a piece of paper towel. Don't tell me I'm the only one.

hm I know what you mean. I actually do the full soap wash I don't really mind.

Sometimes I get lazy, and I take the the hand sanitizer(yeah I know, sweet bathrooms).

Hooskins do you work with me? I swear that I was just openly bitching about this very same thing today in my office.

I have decided to make a OUT OF ORDER sign and hang it on the urinal next to me while I'm taking care of business and removing it when I'm done.. For the past 3 days a different idiot has posted up in the urinal right next to me when there were other stalls open.

Never take the middle urinal or stall. That's right up there with never answer if your wife/girlfriend/mistress/dominatrix asks "do these jeans make me look fat?"

Of course, at my work we just have two urinals in each bathroom (in some rare cases we have four, but they're in sets of two). So you have no choice but to stand next to someone else in some situations. There's a big divider between the urinals but still...it could be worse. I spent about a month in China several years back, and the urinals there are basically one large trough across the floor.

What really gets me though, and I don't know if you all have these at work, are the automatic flush toilets in the stalls. Every time you move, the toilet flushes. You reach for the toilet paper...flush. You lean down for a minute...flush. It's redonkulous

A month ago I was using the handy crapper when a I saw four wheels roll in. I hear "goddamit" and then he rolled out. I felt like crap but I love the extra space in there!

Also they just added "walls" between our urinals here, it is about time! I hate shoulder to shoulder peeing.

Never ever ever, take a crap in a staduim or a dance club. Probably two worst places to pull that off in. Best place to take a public crap? A nice hotel's lobby bathroom.

I hate urinals. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I always get splashback unless I'm really careful and aim for the hole in the drain. I don't know about you guys, but I don't like to concentrate so much when peeing. The only time I ever use urinals is when the stalls are full. I don't care what people think of me.

I also hate using my zipper. I just go for it and unbutton. Kinda frowned upon, which I guess is another reason for using stalls, but even when I have to use a urinal I still do it.

As for the middle urinal thing, I figured it was common knowledge. Even I know that, and I use stalls way more than urinals.

And another thing...

I hate the handicap toilets. They're too high and I can't relax -- which is a problem when taking a doogan. I'm not short either, so I can't understand why they can't just make them the same height as other toilets.
