And then fire the coach and cut the QB after two years because we haven't won a Super Bowl yet? We played an elite team and got beat. It's just one game. |
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
We are one game in, it is not the end of the world. Having the spector of Shanahan or anyone else looming over the team isn't going to help the situation.
|
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
i actually dont feel that bad. Bullshit turnovers. I thought Campbell looked pretty decent
|
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
we lost last year to them the first game but ended up 6-2 after eight games chill out
|
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
I hated today as much as anybody, but it's waaay too early for this. Give it at least 4-5 weeks before you can really get a feel for how it's going to shake out.
|
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
Campbell threw for 8.11 YPA and 73% completion.
He also turned the ball over twice. If you can't win with that kind of QB production, you're never going to win. If Zorn doesn't adopt a more pass-heavy offensive philosophy, it's hard to see them scoring more points then they did today. |
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
we played a great team in their stadium. also i've never thought we match up particularly well against the Giants. if it comes to it, i like colt mccoy

Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
Count me out when it comes to Cowher.
|
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
Campbell didnt look that bad, but Zorn's playcalling is pathetic!!!

If we every learn how to pick up the blitz we would be fine. Where is the "When are going to draft a o-line thread" |
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
8/11 where?
|
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
I guess I would want Shanahan to fix this pathetic offense and ind a defensive coordinator who will not let our cornerbacks play 10 yards off the ball and more creative blitzes.
|
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
He was 8/11 for 116 yards in the first half.
|
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
He was 11/15 for 95 yards in the second half.
|
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
those stats are not the whole story though. He had some boneheaded fucking plays.
|
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
I don't care if he threw for 400 yds. The mistakes kill him. His issues have never been between to 20's.
|
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
Bottomline guys, the Giants dominated us like usual they are a better team all around, we will win 7-8 games again and the GMEN will win the East again! And yes Zorn and Camp will be gone if we don't make the playoffs!!
|
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
those stats are not the whole story though. He had some boneheaded fucking plays.
Well, yeah. He did.
That's not why we lost though. |

It's time to become a more pass heavy offense. |
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
Well, yeah. He did.
That's not why we lost though.
One play never ever loses a game. But the turnover that got returned for a TD is on JC. He needed to have two hands on the ball and step up in te pocket. That's on JC and that was the most crucial play of the game. Otherwise he threw the ball very very well and I think the offense will get better as the season goes on. |

Just one game dude, we have a long way to go yet. Granted we didn't play all that well today, but you must realize we were playing a very good team on their home turf. The Giants are always tough on us up there. Things will get better as we go along. |

Samuels got beat, but Campbell never gave him a chance.

True but besides ARE he really didn't have any help either. Zorn's play calling sucked too run on 1st & 2nd down gain two yards and leave your QB with 3rd & long all game. |

That's 14 out of 23 points that Campbell's mistakes directly can be blamed for. There's no excusing that. |
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
Only negatives of JC this game: held the ball to long and poor pocket presence.
NYG are a Top 5 defense and they called a great defensive game. |

The interception was on the other end of the field, they were actually driving when he threw the pick. I really though Tana could have made a better attempt at coming back to the ball, the Giant CB sure did! |

If you want to use expected points, you can only put 3 on Campbell per INT. I mean, hell, they didn't even score off that turnover. You can dock him something for the fumble as well, but remember that he's not necessarily responsible for the recovery or the tackle, especially after the sack. If Campbell turned the ball over no times, we might have saved 7 points. But a lot of that's just circumstance. I'm fully aware the defense didn't give up 7 of those 23 points. But they also didn't let the offense on the field for the majority of the first half. That's on them. |

JC did not step up on numerous plays........rookie stuff. We are lucky it wasn't more serious |

Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
The O-Line stunk , the billion $$$$ man did nothing special and Landry and Hall stunk in coverage . Next up ,,,, the LAMS ,,,, 1-1-0

I think Campbell should have taken the yards instead of forcing it to a covered receiver. Just think if he had taken care o the ball we win..I still haven't given up on him, but wow he looked like Stafford (Lions QB) confused. |

The 7 points was on JC and the fact he has no clue how to use the pocket. He freaking rols right into 1/2 of his sacks. |

Especially since he seemed to change his mind in the middle of the run.
