We will easily beat Stl
After watching our game for the second time, I noticed that we just had simple mistakes that will be corrected. Don't give up just yet the giants are a real good team, jc has to get his mechanics right, holding the ball low is just dumb. Hey we started out 0-1 last yr. It's a long season we should be fine.
|
Re: We will easily beat Stl
I think we should be able to win by at least three TDs... but I thought that last season against them also. They looked horrible against Seattle yesterday, so let's hope some of the momentum the Skins built with that last drive carries over.
|
Re: We will easily beat Stl
Yea I agree, but in the NFL you can't take teams for granted. I just want to see an easy win for once... It's like every game is a grind for us no matter who we play.
|
Re: We will easily beat Stl
Not touching this one. lol.
|
Re: We will easily beat Stl
We SHOULD be able to beat most of our opponents. Looking at the stats page on NFL.com (I am not a stat-ition) we didn't play bad, we just played inconsistent. I didn't look at anything on the defensive side, but I'm sure we were top ten. STL is going to catch hell. Clinton always seems to run hard after a sub-100 game.
JC- 10th overall QB rating CP- 13th overall rushing yards with 3.9 average Randle El- 8th in receiving yards. |
Re: We will easily beat Stl
Im not getting overconfident, did that last yr when we played the Rams. I told everyone this would be a game that we would win by 20+, loooooong day at work the next day.

I couldn't agree more. I think we're one of a handful of teams in the league that will absolutely disappoint you when it comes to playing a team they SHOULD beat. It's been a really long time since I've just been able to enjoy watching the Skins rip a team a new one. Maybe it was the drubbing of the Lions in 2005 or 2006? Even our certain wins I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for some alien to fall on Jason Campbell causing a fumble only to magically land in the other team's hands. |
Re: We will easily beat Stl
I think the Skins will bounce back strong against a very weak Rams team.
|
Re: We will easily beat Stl
In all reality they have too. IF they lose this game the wheels are really going to come off the bus.
|
Re: We will easily beat Stl
I'd expect for the next 4-5 weeks we're going to be feeling very different emotions than we are this morning. We should go on a nice run for the next month or so barring anything unforseen. It's not a must win but it's a 'better win' for them.

Brady playing against Buffalo and Rivers playing against Oakland. You can expect JC to drop at least 2 spots. And then there is Tomlinson, Taylor, McFadden and Maroney still needing to play. Portis averaged 3.9 ypc on 16 attempts. That is very average and well below what we normally see CP attaining. When Washington came out of the gates at 6-2 last season, Portis was getting well over 20 touches per game, which helped Campbell out tremendously. 16 attempts in a game for a RB like Clinton Portis is unacceptable. |
Re: We will easily beat Stl
It's true he was getting lots of touches, but jeezus last year at least they weren't as predictable as yesterday.
Did Snyder straight up tell Zorn to not let Campbell throw the ball? At some points I was like WTF?! |
Re: We will easily beat Stl
no game is a given with our redskins. remember what Pete Kendall did in last years Rams game? to me, a win is a win. ill take them any way they come. and good morning Malcolm
|
Re: We will easily beat Stl
Give Campbell a chance to prove he cant cut it!!!!At least let him air it out to give Portis a chance to breath.
|
Re: We will easily beat Stl
We better beat them.

Good morning sir. I think we take the Rams, but we CANNOT keep getting burned on third down. |
Re: We will easily beat Stl
We said this last season, but...different circumstances. We're better than last year and they obviously went the other direction!
|
Re: We will easily beat Stl
We just donn't look better than last year. hopefully we can pull it together before it's too late.

Careful, I'm trying to remember the last time we scored three touchdowns against anyone. I know you said "should" but I'm going to "stay medium" remembering last year when the Rams came to town. I never take any NFL team for granted. |
Re: We will easily beat Stl
The Skins wont easily beat anyone this year. They will get wins but they will be close games.
|
Re: We will easily beat Stl
I just hope we don't take these guys for granted. We all know what happened last year. If we don't play well STL can beat us.

Last year Game 1, lost to Giants 16-7. This year Game 1, lost to Giants 23-17. Scored more points, lost by fewer...same team, same location. Stop overreacting. :D |
Re: We will easily beat Stl
I doubt it.
We've had trouble beating the teams we should beat and we haven't played as well as we should at home. Also, St. Louis beat us here last season, so they've got to believe that they can do it again. Someone on here used the term "fecal storm". That's exactly what we'll have in D.C. if the Skins lose the Rams game and, trust me, whether or not you think it is the fault of Zorn and/or Campbell, it will be blowing directly on them. I know it's only September but fecal storm season could come early this year. Let's hope not. |
Re: We will easily beat Stl
We will beat STL, but we won't blow them out. We haven't blown a team out in quite some time and seem to play to the level of our competition.
|
Re: We will easily beat Stl
I'll call it right now
Skins 24 Rams 7 |

I agree! Which is why the Redskins should come into this game angry! Pissed off! Frustrated! And Pumped up! Then proceed to kick the crap out of St. Louis! I mean, run up the freakin score! Make it 35-0 by the end of the half. Our first play at the start of the 3rd quarter needs to be a play action bomb to Moss! Just keep running it up! When St. Louis gets the ball back blitz both corners. Rogers can't catch but he can hit! When its 3rd and long tell Haynesworth to bellflop that SOB that calls himself a quarterback. PISS THEM OFF!!! Work out all that agression and anger that New York gave us onto poor poor St. Louis......................................And then shake their hands afterwards and say "good game". I mean, thats what teams like St. Louis are for. Thats why the league expanded to 32 teams, so there would be more of those teams. And we need to take advantage of that. |

Skins 24 Rams 7[/quote] You are correct about the Skins winning but I think it will be more like Skins 17 Rams 13 |

The only way to easily beat a team or surely win a game vs. a bad team is to have solid D & O lines. If you consistently win the battles at the line of scrimmage then you can confidently say you can beat a lesser talented team. After our performance I highly doubt you can say for sure that we can go about beating teams worse than us. Save your hopes and dreams for your next trip to Disneyworld...it's a real world we live in. Let's witness these things first before we believe they will happen. |
Re: We will easily beat Stl
Take a deep breath, it's like AH said the DF needs time to jell i'm mad has hell to but since i've had time to sleep and cry it out of my system it's only one game and it will be a measureing stick.

Third and 7 at thier own 10, the coaching staff showed a tremendous amount of "no-faith" in Campbell when they ran the ball with Portis. Not taking anything away from CP, but those are the situations where you simply must trust your QB to get it done. And they did not do that. |

Remember CP had pulled a 20+ yard run only a few plays ago, and I am sure Zorn felt everyone would be playing pass, so, lets run again. I don't agree at all, and think a play action on first would have been a far better call, but c'est la guerre |

I'm in the same boat as you. I don't think this is going to be a blowout by any means, though a blowout would be nice. I'll let the week continue on, see how the coaches and players talk during the week and make a prediction later on. |

Play action would have been a good call. But as far as the run, if I am not mistaken, the offense was set up in a 2 TE set with 1 WR and a 2 back set. If I am on defense looking at that offense, I am thinking run first and keeping my LB's at home. The least they could have done was allow JC the "luxury" of an audible if he counted too many Giants jerseys in the box. |

Just like Aaron Rodgers, we have 7 receivers; use them all. |

Good idea cause there is no easy game for our lame ducks. Every game game they play this year are going to be hard ones concedering the way the team already looks. But as the saying goes there's always hope. RIGHT |
Re: We will easily beat Stl
This game is a trap. The Redskins always plays to the level of the competition. They seem to get ready for the tougher teams and let up on weaker teams. They beat the Rams in every way last year but on the scoreboard. The Skins turned over the ball at crucial times and did not capitalize when they should have. The better beat the Lambs. If not, its going to be a long, long season.
