Jason Campbell on WJFK The Fan...Every Monday
Just announced on WJFK The Fan is that J. Campbell will be on their show every Monday afternoon to talk about the previous day's game.
That sound pretty benign but considering he is our team leader and WJFK is the arch enemy radio station of Snyder and the whole Redskins Radio Network it adds an interesting aspect. He spoke today at 4:10pm and the first thing he said was everyone on the team can look in the mirror and say I didn't put my all into it. It's also interesting that the Front Office kind of stuck it to Campbell this offseason and now, to me, it looks like Campbell is sticking it back to the Front office by giving this exclusive interview to the Snyder hated station the day after the Sunday game. |
Re: Jason Campbell on WJFK The Fan...Every Monday
He, like all athletes, gets paid to do this. The one's who do it for 980 get paid. The fact that they are owned by Snyder and the official home isn't important. They have to compete for the services of players within the market. If 980 wanted him they could have worked something out I am pretty sure. It has nothing to do with sticking it to anyone.

I'm sure than Snyder is thrilled that the his starting QB is choosing to take the opportunity to voice his opinion on the rival network. Money or not I'm sure the front office is well aware that Campbell is opting to sound off on that rival radio station. |

seriously who cares, there are bigger issues out there than who's giving interviews to another station

Fair enough...but if anyone wants to discuss that topic I'm sure they could do so here...thanks for your input. |

I'm just saying I doubt this is keeping Snyder up at night. I know we love drama, but I'm not seeing anything here worth getting upset over. |

Re: Jason Campbell on WJFK The Fan...Every Monday
Only a J.Campbell fan would listen to his interview.. Who cares for Campbell any true Skin's fan knows this guy sucks. Not even Denver wanted him and they prefered Orton.

A true skin fan cares about their team and their QB no matter what they think of his play on the field and that comes from someone who is not a big fan of his playing. |

"Does Campbell have talents? Compared to who ? Skin's in the past had running and passing threats but running is the best for the strategy in the NFC East just look at NY Giants. Jay Schroeder was a deep ball passer and what did he do against the Giants defense in 86? Also M.Rypien had Gary Clark , Monk, Sanders ! Moss and Randel El are #3's in many other teams ." -Njall Welcome to the board and thank you for all your insightful comments, we have been lost without you over the past 2030 days! I know we love drama, but I'm not seeing anything here worth getting upset over.
Since Campbell's financially obligated to these interviews they could get interesting later in the season if we start to come apart at the seams. Things could get ugly if we start losing and he feels the blame is unfairly being linked to his play. Anyway, nothing big at the moment but it has potential to be riveting radio with the right circumstances. |
Re: Jason Campbell on WJFK The Fan...Every Monday
Jason is talking again to WJFK around 4:10.
For me I find him to be the best interview in the light of what transpired on SUN. With him in a contract year he'll use discretion with who he calls out but he'll also make sure that no finger is solely pointed to him. |

Campbell is going to be on WJFK with another uncomfortable rap about the Skins Sunday performance with LaVarr and Dukes today. I'd say the wheels have come off so listen to hear him squirm today if you can. |

He's in a contract year too so he really has to be PC when describing his efforts in comparasion to his teammates. He has to interest another team into giving him a shot if he wants to start in the NFL again. |
Re: Jason Campbell on WJFK The Fan...Every Monday
Campbell's on WJFK right now...
|
Re: Jason Campbell on WJFK The Fan...Every Monday
I know it's a contract year but he is way too PC just like everyone on the team besides Hall, everyone says the same crap every time we are getting better and making progress news flash you aren't doing either you are gettin worse and not learning from your mistakes
And he will never be a number 1 in the NFL ever again, ever |
Re: Jason Campbell on WJFK The Fan...Every Monday
Funny how players are blasted for being too PC, but as soon as someone says something they get blasted or told to shut up by the fans. There really is no winning here.

Yeah...they are over scruntized. Especially in this kind of town and under these circumstances. I would have liked to hear JC's response to Rodney Harrison putting him on blast on Sunday Night Football. Let's see if he can still hang PC fielding Harrison's comments about him. |
Re: Jason Campbell on WJFK The Fan...Every Monday
Update? What did he say?
Thanks! |

He said (paraphasing) that he doesn't know how Campbell ever got promoted to a starting QB in the league. He said that he is a backup QB in this league and doesn't have abilities to be a starter in the league. I believe it was during halftime of the game too instead of post game...not sure though. |

Dungy, Harrison on Redskins | Washington Examiner I posted Harrison's quote and Dungy's quote. I think Tony Dungy would have more knowledge. Rodney Harrison: "It's many problems dealing with the Washington Redskins. One problem in particular is Jason Campbell, the quarterback. I don't know what they see in this guy. To me, he's a backup quarterback that's been elevated to a starter. He's a guy that's unpredictable. He's inconsistent. He's not a guy that defensive players look at and fear." Tony Dungy: "I wouldn't blame it all on the quarterback. He threw for a lot of yards today. They're having trouble scoring. I think it goes to a bigger thing, maybe an organizational thing. It's always new free agents, new players, all-star guys. They need to build a team concept there." |
Re: Jason Campbell on WJFK The Fan...Every Monday
Dungy: "It's not always getting the best players. It's building a good team, building a team that everyone has confidence in, and, right now, they don't have confidence." My take: Harrison faced Campbell so his comments are telling. But Dungy is more accurate, that this is bigger than the quarterback. The Redskins can change the QB after this season as well as the coach. If the culture doesn't change, the future won't be much different.

Re: Jason Campbell on WJFK The Fan...Every Monday
Harrison in pregame essentially said that JC doesn't evoke any fear in opposing players. Then he added the comment that JC is basically a backup QB that is starting...

I believe what Dungy said rings true the most for me. It's funny to see analysts who don't follow the Skins close and personally know so much about the orgin of our problems. Dungy hit it on the head. Snyder's negative influence on our team is now becoming noticeable to people everywhere and not just to local fans...good to see. |
Re: Jason Campbell on WJFK The Fan...Every Monday
we seriously just need a new coaching staff with the exception of Buges.
hire a serious head coach, who will bring they.re own staff in. hire a real GM. get rid of Vinny. our roster is good... they just need to be coached well, and let PLAY the game |

What the hell does PC mean? I must be a moron.

It should mean Politically Correct. Depends on the context I guess. Usually means the above. |
Re: Jason Campbell on WJFK The Fan...Every Monday
Jason wouldn't talk to the media last night after the game. I heard that he's never done that before in his career.
The interview on WJFK should be his first after his benching. Should be interesting to hear his perspective on things. |

During the LA and Chad Dukes show. Probably around 4 or 5 o'clock. |
