Braylon Edwards Traded to Jets

Source: Cleveland Browns agree to deal troubled receiver Braylon Edwards to New York Jets - ESPN

The article doesn't say it (unless it's been updated) but I believe the Browns are also getting Chancey Stuckey

Wow, that's kind of a big deal. Any word on what the picks are?

I didn't expect this one at all.. Who's Browns' #1 receiver now?

Good move for both teams . NY gets a threat , Cleveland was not winning with him and can build around a talented OL going forward , as it looks like the Browns are a few years away from winning .

Massaquoi out of Georgia. They have high hopes for the kid. Unfortunately the Browns are going to discover what life is like when he is getting double covered in the absence of Braylon. On another note the will probably get Stallworth back next season.

Massaquoi had a huge game in Week 4 too.

This could elevate the Jets over the Pats (yes I'm serious) in the division. Their D is solid, their running game is solid, they were lacking at WR though. Cotchery is not a #1 WR. Stuckey at #2 is not solid.

Now if Sanchez can avoid a ton of rookie mistakes, they could far far in the playoffs. Looks like they're just trying to surround Sanchez with enough talent that he won't have to be the leader and make big plays on his own.

No big deal....it's not like we needed a WR or anything.

Yeah, if only we had a bunch of second-tier Jets players Mangini would be banging our door down. I wonder if the Browns knew they would be getting all of these second-rate players to pair with their second-rate coach?

I know we as fans have shown discontent but could you imagine how the Browns fans feel right now? LOL.

He will blossom with the "Dirty Sanchez" throwing to him. Also Crabtree signed with the 49ers.

You hope Braylon leaves his butterfingers in Cleveland and learns how to hold onto the ball...

LOL. It will be hilarious when LeBron follows him to New York and signs with the Knicks :)

Braylon Edwards can drop passes in New York just as well as he dropped passes in Cleveland. I hope Cleveland gets some in return for his pass dropping azz.

I am guessing 5th rounder at best

Re: Braylon Edwards Traded to Jets

article said the browns get stuckey (7th round pick in '07), a conditional 3rd (in which braylon would have to catch alot of balls this year to make it a 2nd), and a 5th rounder.

thats not really giving up alot for braylon, who, under the right coaching and team, i could see getting back to his 1300 yd/season form. hes only been in the league 5 years.

go skins!!!

Or "cash considerations". That is by far my favorite trade result.

Unbelievable. Edwards has the skills to be the next great WR. Now he's got a new zip code and it should take some time to get up to speed with Sanchez.

How is it going to take time getting caught up to Sanchez? It's not like he was ever on the same page with a QB in Cleveland. Edwards is ripe for breaking in Sanchez.

I thought that Edwards was a good prospect comming out of Michigan and he even provided 3 pretty good years in Cleveland; one of which was a monster season in 2007. I think that he is still one hell of a player (regardless of the drops that he had last year) and just needs a fresh start. Nobody likes playing for Mangini.

I agree completely, but he as only been in the league for 4 years. This is his 5th season.

It's not legal problems unless charges are filed. Otherwise, it never happened it's just hearsay.

'Legal problems' gets tossed around WAY too loosely when it comes to athletes. Ryan O'Hallaran from the Times said that Haynesworth faced more 'legal trouble' a couple weeks back when his wife amended her divorce petition. That's way too broad of a brush to paint with.

"lifestyle"? Does he enjoy the party life or are there not enough 'Blue Oyster' type places for his liking? Allegedly.

Definitely happy for the 49ers. Singletary is doing a hell of a job over there. Somehow he's been able to find a balance between "my way or the highway" and not being to stubborn to cripple the team. Crabtree on the other hand is still an idiot but if anything Singletary should be able to whip his butt into shape.

I think now thats the new type of coach thats emerging. Guys that are tough but fair are now in vogue with Singletary and Ryan seeing the type of success that has them gunning for playoff spots.

Great trade for the Browns. Braylon is gonna be more interested in hanging out in the Meatpacking district than playing hard for the Jets...
