Okay, I don't seriously think this guy has any shot - I just wanted a catchy thread title.

BUT, isn't he still on our team, on the practice squad? ANY chance he may actually be any good? He's been with us for 6 weeks...

With our o-line it would be throwing a lamb to the slaughter.. The kid was pretty good at Kentucky, but without a strong o-line and ground game to protect him, I would think he would be worse than Soup or Fraud.

Seriously though, what's the harm at this point?[/quote]If things don't turn around, I'd give Woodson about the final 6 games to look like an NFL QB. I think he's a good enough prospect where it would be a legitimate evaluation.

Though, even if we find him to be successful, we're still in the same boat at QB as we are now. We'll still look to external options, and if Mr. Snyder falls in love with a particular QB in the draft, we'll worry about the OL in 2013.

can't wait to see the reaction if we picked up Daniel .. everyone would be talking about we have more backs/qb's than linemen

There is a reason that he is on the practice squad. . . for information against the Giants. OH wait that game is over and we still lost. There is a reason he is on the practice squad. He isn't good enough to be on the team. He might be a third QB, but I don't think that he is at backup status, let alone being a starter.

Woodson is not good or the Giants wouldn't have cut him. He cant beat out David Carr for the backup job. Now if they want to bring Jeff Garcia I don't have a problem with that, but right now Campbell is our best chance to win

Other than oh, I'm guessing about 10 straight losses not much. Which in reality that could happen to any of these no good QB's we have. Or could it be the O-Line.....? ;)

I'll choose ARE over Woodson. WILDCAT!

Well Skinsfann nn, the season is already tanked, that's SS's point. Don't 10 straight losses seem inevitable no matter who plays at this point? Woodson is a guy who was projected to be a first round pick before a subpar senior season plummeted his stock. I am not suggesting that he's likely to be any good, but hell, why not see what we have in him, and play all the other younger guys too? Regarding Campbell, I am in the camp that thinks that when you pulled him in a six point game you crossed a bridge that you kind of can't go back across.

I'm about ready to call this year a day with all the confusion surrounding the team, but looking foreward to next year and who the QB will be is a legitimate concern. I do not believe next years QB is on the roster. Look to a trade, FA or draft.

It might be tanked in your mind and NO 10 losses do NOT look inevitable. There are 10 more meaningful games to be played.

I want the best QB we have to be on the field. The one that gives us the best shot at winning these games. Whether they choose TC or SOUP. But it sure isn't camp fodder Woodson! No worries, no team is beating the door down to get this scrub. If they choose to give him a look in camp next season that shouldn't be any problem.

I dont see Woodson getting on the field. And what does Zorn tell JC if he does start him this week that will make JC believe that he still has his confidence? Yeah i benched you vs the worst D in the league but you go get em.

If they choose to give him a look in camp next season that shouldn't be any problem.[/quote]And based on our schedule, the poor QB play, mediocre OL, RBs and WRs, not to mention an inept "captain of the ship", what have you seen that indicates we have a realistic chance to make the playoffs. What good does an 8-8 or 7-9 season do us when we need to rebuild the talent offensively at key positions; LT, QB, RB, C. How do you know Woodson isn't a more capable QB than JC at this point? Collins has no upside and a pretty limited right-now side.

I'm not saying tank the season, but we need to begin building for the future and evaluating who stays and who goes on this roster. It's a given JC is gone. It's also a given Collins is either gone or a veteran back-up only. It can't hurt to look at Woodson, who knows he may surprise us all. Maybe we can get Daniel back in and give him a shot. Maybe get Quinn for a low pick and give him a shot. Status quo ain't cuttin' it.

I'm riding with Sammy on this one. With all due respect skinsfan_nn, we must not be watching the same team because I do not see a group that has a meaningful chance to compete this year. Campbell is 100 percent gone at this point so we gain nothing by playing him. By playing Woodson we at least can evaluate the 1/1000 chance that we caught lightning in a bottle in signing him.
