Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
I don't care as long as this time next week they are comparing the raider's win to the redskin's win against the eagles.

Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
It's hard not to, other than our owner shouldn't be able to claim senility.

Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
We are 2-4
Have problems at QB Meddling owner Spent lots of money on FA Dysfunctional |
Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
Heard Don Banks do the same this morning on sports radio. Sorry to say, lots of similarities....sad

Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
The Redskins are 2-4 against a 9-26 schedule, and the 6 teams they played are an average of 5-11 over their last 16 games.
the Raiders are 2-4 against a 20-14 schedule, and the 6 teams they played are an average of 8-8 over their last 16 games. Oakland is a better team than Washington IMO and will likely have the better record in the end. |

Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
We do both have 3 Vince Lombardi Trophys :) . If only Davis and Synder would sell their teams , we could see both teams rise to greatness once again !!!! :) :) :)

Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
Dan Snyder should ban Rich Gannon from Redskins park! That would show him!

LMAO!! That would be awesome. |
Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
We're different from the Raiders. The source of their ownership problems may die soon. Our ownership problems are relatively young.
|
Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
wow, that might be the most insulting thing I have ever seen about the Redskins...the NFC's equivalent of the Raiders, where did it all go so wrong?

Word. Though older than myself Snyder will probably outlive me...and that makes me cry at night sometimes lol. |
Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
Truthfully I kind of expect to see DS in valour track suits. Any body good at photoshop? I would love to see a photo of DS in a Burgundy track suit.
|
Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
Well at least the Raiders responded when A.Pierce said playing the Raiders was like it was practice. The Raiders showed they do have some heart when they got called out. Lets see if our Redskins offense has some heart since they are the laughing stock of the NFL. The Raiders may just be better than we are, now thats some real sh*t.

And we'll find out on December 13. That is the really scary part. |

Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
Yeah, terrific to be talked about in the same breath as the Raiders. Well, there's one thing you can say for Danny Snyder in comparison with Big Al: he's probably not insane.

Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
I was saying the EXACT same thing to a friend the other day!! no offense to skins fans out there.. but the redskins are declining just as fast, if not faster as the raiders did from a couple years back.. The thing about the raiders when they were good is: they had a very good quarterback.. but most importantly... a VERY good coach in Gruden. Snyder needs to stop going against the grain of what other owners in the league are doing and stop buying players, and actually get a good scout team so they draft well and get a good coach.. it doesn't have to be an accomplished coach either, such as Shanahan or Cowher... If they do their research right and actually get a coach that fits in DC perfectly, that would be fantastic for the team. The redskins are notorious for getting players/coaches that are the best on paper, but not for their team. Snyder needs to get a Mike Tomlin/Josh McDaniels-esque coach. Some one that will show the players who is boss and take control of the team.

Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
Sad, but true comparison. Two highly drafted quarterbacks who have been having problems due to the system mismanagement and coaching issues.
IMO, I'd rather have JC under the helm than Russell. - "So good, I'm the best....That's why I'm OPTIMAL". |
Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
nope, no comparison I guess, to each his own ,

If we had compromising photos of Vinny with barnyard animals, that might hasten his departure. |

Im sure there are some worse than that floating around! |
Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
For us to be the Raiders though, we'd have to view the last ten years as some sort of deferred excellence, and use the draft to find the quarterback who reminds us most of Sonny Jurgensen. Then take him in a spot where he gets about 80% more guaranteed money than his true worth. Also, we would have to pass up any potential opportunity to improve in which it's universally agreed that the decision is easy. Conventional wisdom is only correct when it agrees that Jevon Snead and Sonny Jurgensen are basically the same player. Otherwise, it's just a bias the NFL projects through the draft analysts against us.
There are similarities between this situation and Oakland, but the differences are still more stark. |
Re: Gannon compares Redskins to Raiders
I hate to agree with Gannon on this topic, but hey it's the truth what are we maybe a couple of notches better than them. It's a damn shame too that Dan & Al have to be so hands-on with the team and things have to be my way NOT the right way. Both franchises placed the wrong choice at head coach to run a team with other coaching personnel picked first. The talented the GM or owner is picking on both teams seem to be awful. Both organizations are not picking talent for the right reason you don't pick Heyward-Bey because he is fast and just because someone was good elsewhere before they came to Washington doesn't mean that they will be good here. It's the system they were in and the system you run, and the personnel all that plays a huge factor basically both teams do not have an identity to make moves pan out.
