Posted at 4:26 PM ET, 11/22/2009 Betts has ligament tear, Rinehart broken fibula Coach Jim Zorn said that Ladell Betts has a torn MCL and Chad Rinehart has a broken fibula. Betts will have an MRI tomorrow. |
Re: more injury news
Well Rinehart is done for the year.
How long do MCL tears usually keep people out for? I thought maybe its usually several weeks.. I know ACL are season, sometimes career ending injuries.. |
Re: more injury news
Frustrating news to be sure. Betts was injured last year about the time Portis was on the sideline...when we needed him most obviously. I guess he can't be relied on to carry a full workload.
...probably time for the FO to find new talent at the RB position aye. |
Re: more injury news
And the list continues to grow. It's a friggin Mash Unit.
|
Re: more injury news
Man, the football gods really hate us this year, like all we need are more injuries
|
Re: more injury news
I called the MCL tear.
Seriously, as long as I've been watching games I can diagnose the significant injuries with an accuracy of %75-80. Right when he suffered the stiff blow on the side of his knee and then got carted off I had it in the bag. I'm the Doctor of Visual Diagnosis. |
Re: more injury news
It just keeps goin downhill for this team.. Next yr we have to address oline qb and now rb wow

Well our problems won't be solved in one offseason. If problems exist with depth especially on OL then you're talking about 4-5 quality players additions just to shore up one dimension. What we need is a change in approach from our Front Office over an extended period of time. That's why it's so important we have a personnel person capable of managing that effort and making certain it strategically goes in one direction in a duration of years as opposed to one season. |

Look at Cincy, they were 4-11-1 last yr and now they will win their division this yr. |

It's really not that hard to do dude. |

LMAO and most of us called the Cowboys final TD drive who gives a shit.. Does that make this guy some kind of Doctor? |

Hey , how about changing that " go gators " to go BUCKEYES ??? Good luck vs Bama :) |

Not if the CBA doesn't get signed. There may be no cap but the number of free agents will be limited due to rules governing an uncapped year. Just goes to show, if you're continually building a consistent, strong team around a viable scheme you don't need to rely heavily on new free agent additions to push your team over the edge. |

Doctor of Doom perhaps. Others may have called this injury to Betts, but I can diagnose any significant injuries visually with an accuracy of %75-80. I doubt anyone can match that completely unfounded percentage. |

Re: more injury news

I don't know if I'd call them a consistently strong team. They had some injuries last year with Palmer but as of right now, outside today, they're doing well. |
Re: more injury news
^^ the bengals have never been anygood, their having a good yr but next yr they could easily be the bungles again
|

...probably time for the FO to find new talent at the RB position aye.[/quote] Betts career never really took off. It is not from a lack of talent. When healthy, he is a great RB. When ever he had the chance to be the #1 RB he has always 2 or 3 games later gotten a knee injury. To bad, I like the guy, hard worker, tough runner. Bad knees. We are suddenly very thin at RB. Where are we loaded with depth? Vinny said we have a playoff talented team. Oh Vinny! You have some splainin to do! |

Re: more injury news
I just want it said that no team could withstand these kind of injuries and I am kind of sick of listening to the critics. Today I heard that we should have had more running backs, thats BS. Every running back they put in has done great. Any team that loses their pro bowl left tackle, their RG, and their pro bowl running back are not going to fair a whole lot better.

Well hopefully we can spend more picks on the Offensive side of the ball and only have to replace a few pieces on Defense for next yr. |
Re: more injury news
Man, we should have several new players on the roster at the end of the week. Sounds like Rhinehart, Eddie Williams and Betts could be on the IR.
|
Re: more injury news
^WTH happened to E.Williams? I know he came in to replace Rinehart but I didn't see nore hear that he got hurt and the article does not mention it.

Re: more injury news
Sorry gor the confusion, eddie the FB, not Edwin. Who I thought played better than Rhinehart, Montgomery, and Williams at guard.

Ok...but there is a noticeable drop off from our starters to their respective backups. We may have suffered a lot of injuries but what other teams haven't done is leave those positions to such unqualified backups like we have. Our team places too much significance on the quality of its starters and not enough in their backups or overall depth. |

Tell me one team that can. |

And sometimes they overvalue the quality of the starters. |
Re: more injury news
My hope is that Samuels can play another year or two as a backup and jones can play LT, next year. Then we use our second round pick to draft a RT and cut Heyer's sorry ass. Of course we use our first to draft a QB.

We have people that fill our roster but I'd be hard pressed calling that depth. We don't have depth at OL?...that's 5 people right there. We don't have depth at WR, DE, LB, CB. That is too many positions in which we don't have qualified backups or would be in a way worse situation if the starters from those positions went down. I just don't see the depth that you are seeing on our team. |

I'm a skins fan not a cowboys fan . Too bad ol Woody Hayes wasn't coaching that night , we would have run the ball 40 times and won :) . How many of the gators from that team are starters in the NFL :) :) :)
