Damn shirt...

Anyone know if I can get the name off the back of my Skins shirt? It's a replica anniversary shirt with the rubberised lettering. The # is OK (24) but I would like, if possible to remove the name. It's currently got an ex Redskin on the back and I'd like to replace it with Springs if poss. ;)

Alright, i did this with my ferotte, shuler, and Westbrook and B. Mitchell Jerseys. You see how the name like on a peice of fabric of its own, sown onto the jersey. What you are gonna wanna do, is get a pair of scicors, small and CAREFULLLY cut where the name "plate" is sown to the jersey. It comes off very easily and really dosent look bad at all after your finished. That was pretty broad so if you have questions lemme know

Still got my Terry Allen shirt, there was NO WAY that was coming off for Deion San**rs.

... and my wife got me my Champ retro shirt for my birthday (November) could noly get me champ or smoot and she had heard me mention champ more...

AnonEmouse 03-09-2004 08:01 AM

I could try that, but I think it's a 'cheap' version (it's at home so I can't check) without the panel.

I might try getting some fabric and sewing it over the top.... :|

MTK 03-09-2004 08:27 AM

if you take it to a place that prints jerseys they can probably take the name plate off and replace it pretty easily

AnonEmouse 03-09-2004 08:51 AM

Might try that if I can find anywhere! Uk and all that...

Cheers for the advice.

Great American Sports in Birmingham might be worth a shot...

AnonEmouse 03-09-2004 09:05 AM

Cheers Dh. Forgot they were still going. I'm not too far from Brum so I might give them a shot.

I say youre better off burning it.

In the spirit of Danny Snyder, you could buy a new one for a lot of cash, and give the sports shop the draft rights to your unborn children. Keep the old shirt as "dead money." ;>)

Tailor, anyone?

Tailor anyone? Do they have them over on the other side of the pond?
Or is it pronounced Taylor?

I suggest you offer to pay by weight.
It should weigh less than a pound! Eh, what!

Daseal 03-09-2004 05:08 PM

Let me know what kind of material it is and I might be able to help. Where I work some guys have to do that type of thing every now and then. I can ask them the best way of going about it.

azskinsfan2 03-09-2004 08:24 PM

I just got my daughter a Champ jersey for her B-day in June. She also has a Terry Allen and I have a Westbrook. Hope we can get them all fixed!!!
This is a great post, I've been wondering how to fix these for several years. Hope someone comes up with a good answer.

For a minute I thought you had inside knowledge of the #5 pick.... :p

dieselhog 03-10-2004 10:55 AM

I've got a Terry Allen, Stubblefield, 2 Brad Johnson's (each colour) and a retro Champ.

Also, a very old Art Monk.

Won't change any of 'em, cos.... THEY ARE REDSKINS SHIRTS.

And they bring back memories (even if some are bad).

MTK 03-10-2004 11:47 AM

Seems like everytime I buy a 'Skins jersey that player is gone soon after. :(

I had a Shuler jersey and we all know how that ended up

Next I bought a Terry Allen jersey, the next season he was gone

Next up was a Brad Johnson jersey, I bought in the middle of the '99 season, enter George and I was again stuck with a former player jersey

Then I bought a Stephen Davis jersey in '00, so I got a little more wear outta that one but still, I was hoping for a few more years!

Then I bought a Champ retro, two years later....gone

Last year I bought a Ramsey jersey, now we sign Brunell, UGH!

I'm feeling slightly jinxed! LOL

I have my sights set on a retro Arrington next, hopefully this one will break the jinx!

RedskinRat 03-10-2004 11:53 AM

Matt, I think I speak for us all on Warpath when I say "You are forbidden to purchase any jersey of any current player". :)

How about buying a Riggins or a Baugh? It's not like you can hex them.

I'll be getting my Bailey patched to Springs at the local Chick's Sports. They don't charge much and do a good job.

SittingBull 03-10-2004 02:41 PM

Get a pinstriped manley jersey to break the curse ;)

oooooh that hurts

LOL

poor Dexter

azskinsfan2 03-10-2004 08:36 PM

As soon as Lavar signed that big deal and they started selling his jerseys, I told my wife I wanted a Lavar Retro jersey for my B-day!!! Matty, you ruined it. Maybe I should get a Canidate instead. LOL!!!
I feel the same way with those little car/card things. I bought Stephen Davis's Howler and he was gone, then I got Champ's Mustang and he's gone!!!
Maybe they should only sell player items when they're rookies or have just signed long term deals. I'm afraid this years car will be Ramsey's!!!

Daseal 03-10-2004 09:50 PM

Matty - please purchase a Brunell jersey before the season begins. I know a group of guys that will chip in for one. Maybe he'll go away before the season starts if you buy it now!
