Amanda Knox verdict coming at 6PM
 

Hey guys,

dont know if anybody has been following the amanda knox trial, but for those who have, she will get her verdict at 6PM.

I think Amanda is innocent of murder.....

yeah i hope she gets cleared the italians aren't giving her anything close to a fair trial by her peers

no, they aren't. And the police beat her in order to get a confession out of her.

They have a guy who already confessed to the murder and who was trialed and sentanced....and Amanda is still there...

I hate Italy and always will for this.

the whole situation reminds me of broke down palace that claire danes movie where they went to jail and signed confessions in another languge, if se is found guilty the us will have to get alot more involved

Don't know if she is guilty or innocent but I'd like to be lock in a jail cell with her for a week or so.

if you check out the evidence in this link i think the defense wins hands down, not to mention this happened 2 years ago and the jury hasn't been sequestered and the italian media has said she is guilty from the get go

What a very bizzare case. Appearantly after her roommate was murdered, Knox and her boyfriend, who was also convicted, went to a lingerie store and bought panties and talked openly about having sex. All of this was captured on closed circuit TV. Also, Knox did cartwheels and splits at the police station following the murder before she was questioned by the police. So they painted a very strange picture of Knox, with very little evidence, to convict her.

Stunning. This will be a movie for sure.

I heard that the DNA samples linking Amanda to the crime were so small that they could not be re-tested....I know in the USA evidence has to be able to be re-tested...but they are not in the us.

Either way, the media over there already had her guilty...and I personally feel the BBC doomed her case. Whether she truly was guilty or not, there is no way anyone can say she had a fair trial.

There's a senator in Washington right now already calling for gov't intervention on this, so we may see things get more ugly in the coming weeks and months. I would imagine if she gets enough support, the US may try and extradite her or something...but i don't know how that works entirely....

Yeah I don't think they had enough evidence either. Hopefully she won't be extradited to Italy. Maybe the gov't can get on it and help her case out. From everything I've heard about the Italian justice system (mostly based on this case) it seems like they are pretty quick to rush to judgement without evidence.

I've followed this one extensively for the last couple of days.

Unfortunatley the case is far from over - Knox's family is going to appeal which may take up to year. The prosecution have went on record and already said that should a subsequent trial find her innocent, they will then appeal. It could be an endless cycle according to italian law. There is something that can be done, an end to the proceedings called, but i don't know the word for it, and the article i read said that it has only happened about a dozen times in the whole time italy has been a country.

Extradition cannot happen as long as appeals go on, so as long as her family continues to have money, Amanda will remain free as long as the appeals are ongoing... Also, U.S. legal experts have stated that it is extremely unlikely that an extradition request from italy would be honored. My gut says that she is safe... Legal experts here all contend that there was not enough evidence to convict her the 1st time. This re-trial occured without any forensic evidence what so ever....crazy when you think about it

It really looks to me like the Italian judges in this case let Knox go, just so after she was outside the country they could "find" her guilty again to save face domestically, without making the US mad.

It's disgraceful that Knox and Sollecito served any time at all, and that Sollecito figuratively and literally still isn't "out of the woods".

So the update as of today is that the Italian Supreme Court (I don't know the actual name for it) has over-turned the original conviction, so Amanda Knox and Rafaelle Sollecito are free under Italy Law.

I don't know much about their legal system, although i've been told they do not have double jeopardy. I think this is finally the end of this trial, although i'm not sure...

Can anybody who knows international law confirm this? Is this case finally over after more than 8 years of trial, appeals, etc...?

What gets me about this entire case was how would Knox, her boytoy and the drifter plan a murder when none of them knew each other? Did they just bump into each other on the street and say, "hey let's go kill this girl!" There just was no evidence of the three having any type of communication with each other. Not to mention the evidence very suspect.

The thing that got me was that the room is splattered in blood, they have a bloody hand print on the wall, bloody sheets, the drifter guy's DNA everywhere and yet not one trace of Ketcher's blood on Knox or her stoner boyfriend or any of their DNA in the room except very questionable traces on the bra CLASP (but no where else on the bra strap).



Some how they scrubbed themselves and the room of any trace they had been there but managed to leave only drifter's DNA and bloody prints in the room. That's some very precise scrubbing for a couple of stoned kids.
