What's Up With Flozell Adams and the Cowboys?

So it just occured to me that Flozell Adams got in another cheap shot on Justin Tuck yesterday. That after clipping Tuck and injuring him in week two. Both Tuck and Brandon Jacobs had some choice words for the Cowboys and Adams following the game. Jacobs flat out said he hates the Cowboys and Tuck called Adams a dirtbag.

But this is really uncalled for and Flo should and still might face suspension. I would love nothing more for the playoffs to be on the line when they come to FedEx later this month.

Re: What's Up With Flozell Adams and the Cowboys?

I thought that it was the leg whipping that Adams engaged in which was so egregious in round one this year. It was the cowardly shove in the back in round two.

I agree with you. I would like to see Adams heavily punished. Adams fits the cowardly, thuggish mold maintained by the Dallas Cowboys.

You could tell Jacobs was pissed, he was stammering and couldn't seem to even get his thoughts together.

Hines Ward probably thinks Adams is a dirty player. I hope he gets a couple of games suspension.

Flozell is dirty as hell. He's got a suspension coming his way I think. Where oh where is Sandtrap? LOL. He's doing his best impression of his team in December- disappearing.

Would love for their playoff hopes to hinge on the game at Fedex. No matter the record, the Redskins will be up for this game. How sweet it would be to send them home with a loss and out of the playoffs. THAT would take a little of the sting out of this season.
Dallas Sucks.

Unless Dallas wins its next two games - - Chargers and Saints - - your wish will come true. Their playoff hopes will definitely be on the line...

My guess is that the Cowboys will be underdogs to both the Chargers and the Saints.

if he isn't fined for atleast $25k and suspended one game it would be a joke, considering the fines goodell has handed out so far this year

But beyond that, is anyone within the locker room in this guy's ear? They seem to lack leadership somewhere.

sportscenter showed some great clips of the doughboy at his presser afterwards they put up the cowboys stats in dec since 97, they are 19-35 with a winning percentage of .352 and of course they are 0-5 in the playoffs.

i really hope we either spoil their season, or they do another one and done and set a record for most consecutive playoff losses

Friday October 2, 2009 4:59 PM By Bob Glauber

Cowboys offensive tackle Flozell Adams has played three games this season, and has managed to do something in each game to draw a fine.

The next time he incurs the wrath of the NFL, he might not get off so easy. He could be suspended.

According to a league source, Adams was told in a letter this week that more repeated violations could result in a suspension.

The offensive tackle has now racked up three fines in three weeks.
October 01, 2009, 07:02 AM EST

IRVING, Texas (AP) Cowboys left tackle Flozell Adams was fined by the NFL for the third straight week, the latest for kicking at Carolina defensive end Julius Peppers.

Adams was docked $7,500. He was fined $5,000 for an unnecessary roughness penalty in the opener and $12,500 for two plays against the New York Giants.

"He just wants to protect the quarterback," coach Wade Phillips said Wednesday.

Running back Felix Jones was fined $5,000 for an attempted leg whip.

"You would think you would have to trip the guy to get a fine, but he didn't," Phillips said.

Jones did not practice Wednesday because of a strained ligament in his left knee. Starting running back Marion Barber practiced, but was limited. Defensive end DeMarcus Ware went through the full workout, but was listed on the injury report with a neck problem.
Look at Wade Phillips' comments in the second October article I just posted, he flat out lies or denies that Flozell does anything. He's either blind or stupid. Protecting and sticking up for your players is essential for a coach, but how can you defend a guy who gets 4 fines in 3 games for dirty plays?

as much as he costs the Cowboys in penalty yards, it might actually help them lol. having said that, 3 things will happen:

1. he will be suspended, at least 1 game
2. Philly will win the division
3. Dallas will miss the playoffs

Dallas being shown favoritism again?

I don't know if it is favoritism, but with as many penalties as he costs them now, you would think they would pull him on their own.

Sure seems that way. It's one thing not to suspend someone like ochocinco because of his antics, but when it's that many dirty plays.. wtf?

Roy Williams got a game for 3 horse collars 2 years back and it seems like things have gotten tougher on players... except in this case.

Also, does anybody know why the rule is set up for it not to be enforced at the start of the next half, or why they weren't given another play? I have never really realized that that was the way the rule was written.

on a NFL coverage of it I thought they said it isn't carried over. Either way it makes no sense, why would NY decline a 15 yard penalty on a kickoff, or why would it not be enforced at the start of the half.

i don't get it, yeah the play was dead so there isn't one more play, but maybe i'm imaging things but i seem to recall games where a personal fould was carried over into the second half, i almost feel like it has happened to the skins in the past few years

mlmdub130 12-09-2009 09:55 AM

Re: What's Up With Flozell Adams and the Cowboys?

After Adams shoved Tuck to the ground just after the whistle blew on the final play before intermission, the Cowboys' left tackle was assessed a 15-yard personal foul penalty. But because it occurred on the final play of a half, it was automatically declined, according to NFL rules.

That meant the Cowboys didn't lose 15 yards, even on the kickoff to open the second half. And since Adams - whom Tuck called "a dirtbag" and "a coward" after the game - wasn't ejected, his cheap-shot hit was essentially not penalized at all. "To not have some kind of immediate officiating response, there's something that needs to be addressed there," Coughlin said Monday. "There was no eviction, no penalty assessment, nothing."

Coughlin expressed his concerns to Mike Pereira, the NFL's director of officiating, Monday morning. Pereira had already reviewed the play, and according to a league spokesman the NFL is conducting a "routine" disciplinary review, too.

Re: What's Up With Flozell Adams and the Cowboys?

i guess by the refs calling it a personal foul, and not unnecessary roughness, they determined the play was still "live" even though it was well after the whistle
Officials announced that the penalty was declined by the Giants. The league said Monday that this was in accordance with Rule 4, Section 8, Article 2, Paragraph (c).

It stipulates: “If there is a foul by the offense, there shall be no extension of the period” if the foul takes place on the last play of a half as time expires.

But another section of the rule, Paragraph (d), says a personal foul after the first half “shall be enforced on the ensuing kickoff.”
