Keep 10-Your Call
Same idea as the 10 cuts thread. You're Bruce Allen and Dan Snyder has just asked you to tell him which 10 current Redskins players you must keep on your roster. No questions asked. And not to trade them, but to actually keep them
Devin Thomas Fred Davis Hunter Smith Brian Orakpo Levi Jones DeAngelo Hall Kevin Barnes Derrick Dockery Edwin Williams Chris Horton |

Re: Keep 10-Your Call
Not really understanding the Levi Jones picks. I'd keep him as opposed to not keeping him, but he's going to be useless by November of next year either way. Seems like, especially after tonight, we're not a better team with him than we are without him.

Re: Keep 10-Your Call
Rogers? Why? (just curious)
If I'm rebuilding the secondary, I can't let him get away. Need to bring back people who challenge receivers.
At this time next year, my list could include Barnes and not Rogers, but in the absence of more information, Rogers is really the only desirable player in my secondary. Admittedly, it's a unit that needs a lot of work. All concerns about his age still apply. |

Re: Keep 10-Your Call
There's a lot more than 10 I'd keep but many of them would not be in the same roles. Like Moss...if I have to keep him at WR1 go ahead and move him to my 10 I'd cut list. If I can switch him to slot then he can play for me. Williams and Jones...they'd be fine as backup linemen to me.

Re: Keep 10-Your Call
This is possibly the most depressing thread in the history of my time here.
It is just such a clear indicator of how bad it is. We have a few young keepers, but it's fugly ugly when you look at it this way. |
Re: Keep 10-Your Call
Campbell, I think you'd be justified in leaving him off this list. But I think just having Snyder NOT nosing around for a quarterback would be worth it's weight in gold to the rebuilding process.

Re: Keep 10-Your Call
Keeping Jones because I wanted one tackle. But realistically I probably take Jarmon ahead of him, or Haynesworth (if I didn't have him on my list already)
Depending on where we draft I want Campbell to return as our starter. And even if we do bring him back as the starter, I'd still want to get a good young backup |

This move would get multiple thumbs up for me, if only for it's value to actually having depth at the QB position. We probably could open this one up to more than ten guys. It's not that I want to get rid of Devin Thomas or Malcolm Kelly (or Anthony Montgomery, or Chris Wilson, or Chris Horton, or Marko Mitchell), but they certainly haven't shown enough to waste one of ten spots on. |

I would second this. |

I think what you heard was that Kiper said he sees McCoy as a 2nd round pick, who he compares to Jake Plummer. And Plummer had some great years under Shanahan. But that's not the same as Colt is being targeted by Shanahan in the 2nd round. |
Re: Keep 10-Your Call
Mr. Allen is keeping:
Marko Mitchell Quinton Ganther Marcus Mason Devin Thomas Fred Davis Chris Cooley Levi Jones Jeremy Jarmon Chase Daniel Jason Campbell for a two year extension. and still draft a QB in the second round. |

Haynesworth Gano!! Hollywood Thomas Davis Cooley Ganther Yoder Horton - I never realized how sorely he was missed in the secondary until I just took in the fact how long he's been on IR. Doughty and Landry are no good in coverage. Moss (But FFS, NOT as the #1 receiver. Put him in the slot) |

Re: Keep 10-Your Call
1) Orakpo- shows the most performance in his FIRST year in the NFL.
2) Thomas- provides the "young spark" we need desperately at the wide out position. 3) Davis- like Thomas/Orakpo shows promise at a position we'll need to be a strong team 4) Haynesworth- 100million. nuff said. 5) Fletcher- doesn't matter who is coming at him, the tackle is made. 6) Cooley- we all know cooley for what he is. no need to give a reason. 7) H.B. Blades- a Fletcher clone who will pick up where London left off after retirement. 8) Landry- i'm upset with his coverage but put him at SS and QB's fear him. make them throw away from him, that alone takes away half the field. 9) McIntosh- he's been in the system for a few years now and understands what to do. young enough to contribute for years to come but old enough to teach the rookies. 10) Hall- in the NFL you NEED a superior corner and currently the redskins roster's BEST cb is Hall (even if he does start a few fights here and there) |

Re: Keep 10-Your Call
1) Orakpo
2) Haynesworth 3) D. Thomas 4) Davis 5) Fletcher 6) Ok I give up, I honestly can't name 10 "gotta have 'em at any cost" kind of guys. |
Re: Keep 10-Your Call
Cooley / Davis - could be the best TE duo in the NFL next season.
Smith / Gano - love the leg strength of the kicker Thomas / Kelly - Could be a very good WR tandem in the league Haynesworth - if used properly could be a beast and help Carter and Orakpo get a ton of sacks. Jason Campbell - I really think we can win with this guy. He is tough, works hard, and when presented a decent(not even good) oline he can produce and produce very effectively. Dockery / Reinhart - I think could be two very effective Guards for us. Orakpo - no explination needed Hall - gets burned sometimes, but I think if we continue to use our Dline and get pressure - he could lead the league in picks. Cant think of anyone else. |
