And we hopefully will have something other than Jim Zorn being fired to talk about. The talk has been more horrible than the season itself.

It's either going to be Okung/McCoy or Bradford/Best Available OL

We need Oline. Is it for sure the 4th and 36th picks for sure? I didnt pay much attention to the NFL or the Skins today as the game was not on the in the area.

wilsowilso 01-03-2010 08:21 PM

Re: Serously,Thank God it's Over!

We could conceivably rebuild the entire oline in one offseason. One major free agent aquisition and then use the top two picks on oline. Grab a few medium grade slightly over priced veterans for depth.

Keep Dockery.

Done.

I have watched some bad seasons, but this is by far the worst I can remember in my adult life. I am amazed I had the wherewithal to watch all 16 games.

My guess is the Zorn is fired press release will hit the airwaves around 8:02am tomorrow morning, with the contract announcement for Shanny as HC and Team President at 8.5M/year hitting the news at 9:45.

In fact, see if Redskin one doesn't make a stop in Denver on the way back from San Diego tonight to pick up some special cargo.

Re: Serously,Thank God it's Over!

I have never been so glad to see a season end. This has been a long painful year. I can only hope that tomorrow they will begin to set things in order for next season and that they will focus the draft and free agency on our serious o line needs. I have seen reports and mock drafts that say the skins will take sam bradford as their first pick, i can only say I hope not.....

As they say on the Harry Hog football podcast (by and for skins fans) we need some serious BFF's (that's big fat fatties) for the o line.

i can only hope progress is made in this off season. I ain't crazy about the idea of Shanahan but time will tell.

SolidSnake84 01-03-2010 08:47 PM

Re: Serously,Thank God it's Over!

I'm the same exact way. I'm glad it's all over. I feel really bad for Zorn. He was in over his head from day 1, had an OK 2008 Season before Portis fell apart and the O-line got ravaged (again).

2009 he was exposed as a play caller, the wheels fell totally off Portis, 11 guys went on injured reserve, and the whole we dug ourselves in was just too much to overcome.

I'm glad we saw young players finally get to play. Hopefully the whole anointed starter jobs are a thing of the past...it had to take injury and hopelessness for us to finally see other players play.

We have stuff to look foreward to. Young players hopefully keep their spot. Maybe a new QB, a new offensive line, and hopefully a young RB to build around. Things can only get better..

Thank god almighty it is over! This was beyond painful especially all of the off field drama that seems to accompany this team these days. I really hope the Skins don't screw things up and draft a qb. We got to right this ship and address our O line. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning would get slaughtered behind our line.

Seriously, I said it a few weeks ago, but this litterally was the most boring, horrible, grinding season in a long long long time.... Even when we were bad in 2004 and 2006, there were at least some really cool moments and things which happened... but this seaosn really didnt have a single positive...

I think Joe Bugel has been living on his HOGS reputation ever since he returned to the team.

Yes he didn't have much to work with, but he didn't really develop anyone in half a decade.

Dockery 1.0........ I guess.

No one else? That's abysmal.

After the Redskins game it looked like NY packed it in. They can blame the new DC all they want but he can't make guys get off blocks and tackle. I've never seen a defense ( the last two weeks) just basically go out there and play with no heart. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I don't know if I'd fire Coughlin, but the way you guys packed it in and gave up the last few games falls squarely on coaching and poor team leadership. Eli is a good QB, but he may never be great becuase he lacks leaderdhip qualities IMO. You better believe Peyton wouldn't have let a team quit like that. When the going gets tough, Eli just sits there with that "aw shucks" dumb ass look on his face.

Bill Sheridan got embarrassed most of the season. I think it's a foregone conclusion the Gmen get a new DC...I hope to hell it's not G. Williams.

Agree that Sheridan has got to be done. I seriously doubt it will be GW. He's got a great thing going in NO in only his first year. They will continue to improve with him there, and they are 13-3. I doubt he'd leave that kind of winning situation for a lateral move. IMO the next time he takes a new job it will be as a HC somewhere.

I don't. The Giants offense is good enough to win with Blache's crap scheme. He's an upgrade from Sheridan.

As a lifelong Redskins fan, this was the WORST season I can remember, along with the Spurrier experiment. This season was even more painful and disappointing though because we had a LOT more talent in Week 1 and higher expectations...but the injuries to so many key players just killed us and almost literally killed our QB. Not only did he get a black eye, but blacked out on the field!

It can only get better from here...and it will. It has to.

I'm looking at league standings of off the NFL website. As of now (the season is over) it's: Rams, Lions, Bucs, and then Skins. The Chiefs get the fifth because they won yesterday and beat us. Is there something that I'm missing? I like the idea of Okung. If we trade down and get more O-linemen, I'd be cooll with that too.

I want Okung here. He's the best available. There is a tackle from the Sooners if we somehow miss out on him. Suh is definitely one of the picks ahead of us. Detroit will probably draft another WR (ha), so we have to hope TB doesn't take him.

The 3rd round was used on Jarmon, still a very good use of it in my opinion.

We lost a 6th over that guy in Miami
