MAtty, is is saying you need a group ID #, not group name

beg8878 03-09-2004 11:54 PM

I'll expect you all to be routing for my Alma Mater tomorrow night @ 7 on ESPN2.

Let's go Monmouth Hawks...they are ready to make some serious noise in the tourney lol

backrow 03-10-2004 07:34 AM

Don't forget...

Don't forget my St. Leo Lio.......wait, I think they were out of it in early December!

Gmanc711 03-10-2004 11:06 AM

Go Cuse! They are the only resembalence of Basektball in Western NY

MTK 03-10-2004 11:38 AM
Go Cuse! They are the only resembalence of Basektball in Western NY
I'm with ya on the 'Cuse, if Anthony stuck around they'd be gunning for two in a row! Still, the tourney is going to be wide open, there's a bunch of teams including Syracuse that have a shot.

Gmanc711 03-10-2004 12:11 PM

Seriously. I dont think they will win it all, but they will make some deifnte noise, who knows though, they are playing great basketball right now

ChounsMan 03-10-2004 12:25 PM

You can count me in :D

azskinsfan2 03-10-2004 07:53 PM

Go Arizona Wildcats!!!! We're not used to being an underdog (number 21). The last time we were 1997 (5th place in the Pac 10) we beat 3 number 1 seeds and won the National title. Never done before or since!!! Let's do it again. Go Cats!!!!

itvnetop 03-10-2004 08:11 PM

what happened to georgetown? :(

azskinsfan2 03-10-2004 08:39 PM

They lost Ewing!!!!!!!!!

DA Hogs 03-10-2004 09:07 PM

Go Pitt...........watch out for air force to upset a couple of teams

SmootSmack 03-10-2004 09:52 PM

My mom and brother are Hoyas (even though I myself am an American U. Eagle) so it pains me to see Georgetown's basketball program become so irrelevant.

Pitt's a strong choice. Still think Memphis and Louisville depending on where they're seeded could do some damage.

backrow 03-11-2004 12:37 PM

Beggs!

Beggs!

Yo Dog! I was pulling for your Monmouth team last night! I figured they would win from what little I did see during the first half. Small gym. But I'd accept a scolarship any day to play out my eligibility. At age 52, I've only lost 1/2" off of my 1" vertical, and I can still out run my four year old granddaughter! Puff Puff, I have to take a nap now...........................

SmootSmack 03-11-2004 01:08 PM

St. Joe's is down by 26 points to Xavier right now, it's going to take a miracle for them to keep their undefeated season in tact

I appreciate the support...maybe they'll suit you up for the opening round game...God knows they will need the help....

beg8878 03-11-2004 04:56 PM

Anyone know where I can find the sites for the opening round games?

SmootSmack 03-11-2004 05:11 PM

beg, this doesn't give the exact locations but it might help

http://www.foxsports.com/content/view?contentId=2218070

I'll see if I can find something better

beg8878 03-11-2004 09:10 PM

thanks Smooty.....that is perfect, just wanted to see if there was any chance of catching a first round game in my area.

Duffman003 03-13-2004 06:20 PM

Did anyone just watch that maryland game, because it was awesome they came back from a 19 points down to winning by 3

beg8878 03-14-2004 11:03 PM

Bring on Mississippi St......

johnnyredskin63 03-15-2004 05:06 AM

maryland surprised the heck out of me in the acc tournament this year.watch out for them in the big 64,they may win it all again.who knows?

redskins56 03-15-2004 04:54 PM

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up..If I do good in this pick'em, IT'S PURE LUCK!!! ..I dont watch any basketball..

Gmanc711 03-17-2004 08:53 AM

Syracuse , Mfer's. I think they could get to the Sweet 16, but no farther than that. I think the title is unforunatley running through Cameron this year. I do like Kyzkefski( however the hell you spell his name ) though.

MTK 03-17-2004 10:30 AM

SU has a tough road no doubt.

The Big East will be strong though, I can see both Pitt and UConn going a long way.

Gmanc711 03-17-2004 11:19 AM

I have them in my final four, Pitt in the title game. Seton Hall could have a good tourney, so could providence. My hopes are w/ the Cuse though

beg8878 03-17-2004 11:30 AM

I worry about Pitt trying to get past Wisconsin. That 2nd round game is played in Milwaukee. I have them bowing out then, if they were playing in any other bracket I'd have them at least to the elite 8

joecrisp 03-17-2004 03:16 PM
I just wanted to give everyone a heads up..If I do good in this pick'em, IT'S PURE LUCK!!! ..I dont watch any basketball..
Same here, redskins56! I used to watch basketball pretty avidly when I was in high school and college, but I just kind of lost interest in the games after a while. But even when I was watching basketball closely, it didn't seem to help me with my tourney picks. I figured this year, my basketball knowledge has dissipated to the point where I'll probably have some success with the picks-- you know, kind of like that chick in your office pool who makes her picks based on the aesthetics of the team uniforms, and still manages to win the whole damn thing!

Go "Redskins Rebound"!

Gmanc711 03-17-2004 03:34 PM

If you put Dick Vitale into our pick em group, theres a very good chance he would be in the midlde of the bunch, knowledge dosent mean anything for any of these games.

Gmanc711 03-18-2004 10:58 PM

How bout Gerry friggin McNamera. 43 pts, are you freakin serious. Here's too Syracuse beating Maryland Saturday!

azskinsfan2 03-19-2004 07:19 PM

Well, so much for my AZ Wildcats!! They gave a good lesson on how to blow a 14 point lead!!!! Guess I'll have to go for Stanford now (fellow Pac-10). But I really think Duke has a good chance of going all the way. Actually I think I'll root for Gonzaga!!!!!!!

Daseal 03-19-2004 09:15 PM

Kentucky will win it all~ Beat Conneticut in the finals!

Gmanc711 03-21-2004 01:19 AM

Syracuse is going back to the big dance. I think they will beat Alabama, then have to play Uconn again, which could be a good game. I dont know if they have the poewr to beat them again, especially since Okafer didnt play in the last game.

itvnetop 03-21-2004 01:42 AM

hehehe, i'm all for pac-10 ball (my trojans were horrible this year) but i couldn't, in good faith, root for stanford. i hate those guys!

Daseal 03-22-2004 12:05 AM

Uggggggggggggggggggggg Kentucky

azskinsfan2 03-22-2004 12:15 PM

Oh yeah!!!! I sure know how to pick em eh??? I think I'll pick Dallas or Philly to win the Super Bowl this year!!! That should guarantee a team we all love but that I definitely won't mention should actually win it all.
Any of you out there want someone to lose, let me know and I'll root for them!!!!!

Gmanc711 03-22-2004 08:03 PM

Root for Alabama vs Syracuse !!

backrow 03-23-2004 01:33 PM

My bracket is shot!

My bracket is shot! One side of it is pure swiss. Duke, my eventual champ is still in it for now. Lost on KY, though! My other handle is oduhoop! Shows only that I know diddly squat! I really like being in a bracket. Never done it before! Great idea, whoever created it!

SmootSmack 03-23-2004 05:46 PM

These things are so unpredictable. Anyone else listen to the Tony Kornheiser show on ESPN Radio? Phil's mom (Phil's a producer of his) picked UAB over Kentucky. She has no idea who UAB is but, as she said, "The B must mean they're somewhere in Buffalo right?"

Daseal 03-24-2004 02:40 PM

Yeah, My Dad and I figured University of Alabama at Birmingham in the 1st quarter, then we had that confirmed in the 3rd. Anyone else watch that whole game? It was a good game and I wish UAB the best of luck. THat pass from one twin to another was amazing!
