The OFFICAL 2004 Election Thread

For those of you just joining us... I'm recapping the nights action for you. And of course we can discuss what we think thusfar. This is a very happy thread so please, no fighting.....

Bush is up 34-3.
He scored an early TD and didnt let up. Dick Chaney kicked 2 successful feild goals, and Bush scored on 4 TD passes.
Kerry made a nice drive and kicked the feild goal, after failing to convert Indiana.

We'll be back with another game break as time permits.

EDIT...

Were Back with a Gamebreak
Bush has just scored another Touchdown, However they Faked the feild goal and missed.. will it come back to haunt him???
39-3 Bush

Gmanc711 11-02-2004 08:06 PM

If you blinked... YOU MISSED IT!! The biggest comeback in part of a game in the history of antyhing....

John Kerry has piled on 71 points in about 4 mintues in what has turned into a shootout. John Edwards has complied over 400 votes, to aid Kerry. Bush is down just eight, but some say his feable arm and his overthowing is hurting his game

Once again its 74-66 John kerry has taken the lead.

SmootSmack 11-02-2004 08:07 PM

The defenses have fallen asleep as Bush scored 4 TDs but missed another extra point. Then, thanks to a questionable pass interference call, the tide turned in Kerry's favor as he went with a 5 receiver set and stormed to a 77-66 lead

Gmanc711 11-02-2004 08:13 PM

I'll tell you Smoot, I really think John Edwards has been the difference here. Those feild goals, and extra points are really helping Kerry take control. Bush has had too many stupid mistakes to this point. I cant wait to get till the 9:00 hour.....back to you

SmootSmack 11-02-2004 08:22 PM

Michelle Tafoya is reporting that Howard Dean limped off the field with a sprained ankle just a few plays ago so there's no been no pressure on the QB. This has allowed Bush to open things up to a 108-77 lead

They are the real numbers....according to CBS News

Gmanc711 11-02-2004 08:32 PM

Oh ok, I'm watching ABC Sorry for the confuion mate. Can I still be your broadcast partner?

SmootSmack 11-02-2004 08:36 PM

Sure. I've been flipping through all the coverage. Mainly MSNBC and CBS though and Cartoon Network (of course)

Gmanc711 11-02-2004 08:40 PM

I've just been watching ABC and the NBA Opener a little bit, and playing some online poker

NY_Skinsfan 11-02-2004 08:58 PM

ok..now that you've established what each of you is watching...get back to the broadcast...that's some funny stuff :thumb:

SmootSmack 11-02-2004 09:02 PM

It's the end of the first quarter

SmootSmack 11-02-2004 09:08 PM

Kerry ran a draw play on 3 and 23, fooling everyone to take a 112-108 lead. Not to be outdone. Bush ran a halfback option pass to Rumsfeld to take the lead and followed that with an onside kick and play action pass to Cheney for a 162-112 lead.

The booth is reviewing if Cheney's feet were in bounds.

Gmanc711 11-02-2004 09:11 PM

Smootsmack.... how about those refs??? They called that illegal motion on Kerry, but Kerry must have ran the play " his whole life " and at least 4 other times tonight. What gives with this inconsistant officiating? I dont know if Kerry will recover...

SmootSmack 11-02-2004 09:19 PM

Gmanc, some say Kerry has lost touch with today's presidential campaign because he hasn't run for President in over a decade. There are already rumblings that the game may have passed him by. But the man has three purple hearts so you gotta have faith that he'll turn this ship around

Gmanc711 11-02-2004 09:26 PM

Smootsmack, did you agree with Kerrys decision to trade his all pro shutdown vote stealer? For a young running mate, who had done better for himself than any other running mate in history??

SmootSmack 11-02-2004 09:29 PM

The all pro shutdown vote stealer didn't want to be here anymore. Some say the young running mate was a product of the system he was in but I don't buy it. Having to give up a junior senator in the next elections might come back to hurt him though.

This just in-a costly fumble by Teresa Heinz Kerry deep in her own territory led to a Bush field goal. Bush up 171-112

Riggo44 11-02-2004 09:29 PM

Electoral votes so far= Bush,156 vs. Kery, 112. This thing is going down to the wire. :boxing: Keep the updates coming smootsmack! Your killing me. :laughing-

Skins fan 44 11-02-2004 09:31 PM

Here is a score from around the league, in Illinois. O'Bama is beating Keyes 89% to 11% in the middle of the second quarter.

Bush can smell victory , but there are alot of votes left to gather.

Thank you for that McDonald's game break

SmootSmack 11-02-2004 09:40 PM

I'm getting word that Kerry just hit a 55 yard field goal to pull to within 171-115

MTK 11-02-2004 09:44 PM

great thread guys, nice job

SmootSmack 11-02-2004 09:54 PM

Gmanc is the mastermind behind all this. I'm just a George Costanza in his Seinfeldian world

Gmanc711 11-02-2004 09:55 PM

Smoot, this is getting too close for comfort. An absolutle scorefest as it stands at 170-112. These defenses are getting absoultley battered today, as polls have closed in the majority but not all of the country. Things should be picking up as we head towards the end here.

Gmanc711 11-02-2004 10:04 PM

Bush is piling it on adding on another 5 points. Kerry was taken down for the saftey and Chainey whopped in a feild goal. To me it looks like they are trying to put this one away, Kerry needs to get somthing going quickly.

SmootSmack 11-02-2004 10:04 PM

Good news for all pimps and hos. Marion Barry is well on his way to winning a seat on the DC Council

SmootSmack 11-02-2004 10:06 PM

Kerry is the master of the 4th quarter comeback. His supporters shouldn't be worried.

Meanwhile, one race in Virginia has Goode narrowly beating Weed. I say they should join forces because you can never go wrong with goode weed

MTK 11-02-2004 10:36 PM

I don't know how Kerry can lose, if case anyone forgot this guy is a straight up balla

SmootSmack 11-02-2004 10:54 PM

The Cover 2 isn't working for either team. Bush has taken a 193-133 lead. On that last touchdown pass to Cheney Kerry threw the red flag to challenge the play before picking up the flag to not challenge the play

I must question that desicion. The play was clearly shaky and a review could have made all the difference. I have to imagine they wanted to save some timeouts.

SmootSmack 11-02-2004 11:07 PM

Meanwhile, in a race that may only matter to me Pedro Rosello holds onto a narrow lead over Anibal Acevedo Vila in the race for governor of Puerto Rico 48.62% to 48.05%

Gmanc711 11-02-2004 11:09 PM

Well it does matter, because those are two up and coming superstars in this league. Hopefully we shall see some more in the future from these guys.

SmootSmack 11-02-2004 11:10 PM

Bush had his hand too far up Cheney's ass causing a botched snap that was quickly picked up Edwards who took it into the endzone to close the gap Bush 197, Kerry 188

cpayne5 11-02-2004 11:19 PM

This could very well be the highest scoring game in league history. Is no one playing defense?

Gmanc711 11-02-2004 11:28 PM
This could very well be the highest scoring game in league history. Is no one playing defense?
There were alot of early defensive injuries, and they couldnt recover from them.

Gmanc711 11-02-2004 11:31 PM

207 -199 is the score going into the fourth quarter....

cpayne5 11-02-2004 11:39 PM
There were alot of early defensive injuries, and they couldnt recover from them.
Hehe, I guess Gregg Williams isn't at the helm.

Gmanc711 11-02-2004 11:53 PM

Alright Smootsmack, everyone if your there. My commentary ends here. I have a 8:00 class tommarow so I'll just fall asleep watching this stuff. G'Night all

SmootSmack 11-02-2004 11:56 PM

Now taking applications for someone to step in and sit in the broadcast booth with me.

Can't do it alone. Bush has somewhere between 207 and 246 points now. Hard to tell with that stupid idiot with the "Go back to NASCAR" sign standing in my way
