Today marks a beginning of sorts. This is the first day of the Redskins' offseason conditioning program, and it's the first time coach Mike Shanahan will be able to meet and see many of his players in-person.

It seems to me every year we talk about 100% player participating in off-season conditioning yet when you look at this team during the season they look like shit.

I think one thing that was really out of control under the previous regime was the amount of guys who started the season already injured, and some who were still hurt from the previous season.

i think the training and conditioning staff left a lot to be desired. I know before that Gibbs wouldn't make the veteran or old guys do any kind of extra conditioning in order to keep them semi-fresh, but i think at this point, if anybody can't go when the season begins, then they need to be replaced.

And i agree with saden1. When the guys came out, they did look like shit and looked out of shape....

exactly. we've got professionals now running the show. and from everything i've heard from the sports talk stations the culture is already much better around redskins park.

anyone else see Josh McDaniels as this year's JZ?

It would be great to win a superbowl - but to win in Dallas, in front of all those cowboys fans would just be awesome.

Absolutely...inexperienced coach's team started out red hot...second half of initial year showed a completely opposite performance, choking away what looked like a sure playoff appearance.

Second year...utter disaster. I had the Broncos predicted for 4-5 wins last season. Aside from the strong start, they DID look like a team of that caliber in the second half.

DEFINITELY a GREAT thing that Landry showed up. He needs to get with the program, because he is not that good to be as cocky as he is. Hope Shanny, Haslet and the new coaching staff humbles this guy and bring him back to reality. Hopefully he can start living up to that high draft pick we spent on him.

Hmm, you must have a strong itch to take a shot at him whenever the opportunity presents itself. No one's going to bother reporting if the "normal" attendees are there because they'd be expected to be there and thus would not be any news. What would make news is if a "normal" attendee like Jason DIDN'T show up.
