Re: Chris Wilson signs with Redskins
Once he gets settled into one position where he can concentrate all his efforts, he could become a more regular contributor.
Can't go very wrong with the signing. |

That one's already reserved. |
Re: Chris Wilson signs with Redskins
I wasn't sure whether to make a thread about it or not so I just posted it in the reports thread. Good solid signing.
p.s. you still haven't put medlock in the tracker thread |
Re: Chris Wilson signs with Redskins
I gotta say I love the way we are doing business, keeping the good players we have developed and parting with those that have underperformed relative to their contracts.
Every year I hope to see Chris Wilson get more playing time cause I believe (maybe foolishly) he is a good pass rusher that's buried in our depth chart. |
Re: Chris Wilson signs with Redskins
I didn't even realize he hadn't been signed. Guess I had taken for granted he was on the team.
JoeRedskin's still waiting for the Chris Wilson avatar |

JoeRedskin's still waiting for the Chris Wilson avatar
Well we didn't have to offer him a new contract with him already being tendered right? |
Re: Chris Wilson signs with Redskins
This is a contract extension correct? I know they've been in talks regarding an extension, so it would seem to be a bit anti-climatic if this was a one year deal that just negated his RFA tender.

Sorry to disappoint you but from what I've heard he basically just signed his tender. One year, $1.6 million |
Re: Chris Wilson signs with Redskins
That sucks, but at least he'll be in the fold for next year.

Re: Chris Wilson signs with Redskins
Good for Chris, I'm a fan of his with him being from Flint, Mi also... I've been cheering for him and hoping he gets a chance to show what he can do.

I like this move too. Wilson should be much more well suited for OLB in a 3-4. This is one guy that needs to take his game to the next level. |
Re: Chris Wilson signs with Redskins
^ I agree. Although the switch to the 3-4 may marginalize Carter and/or Jarmon, I think it is a defense in which Wilson can thrive.

Re: Chris Wilson signs with Redskins
Anyone remember the uproar when we first signed Wilson? lol it was a classic thread.
I've searched high and low for that thread, Smootsmack you're the master of digging up old threads can you see if you can find it? I think he signed back in Jan of 2007. |

Ahhh I forgot to look in thread hell, thanks for digging it up
Some classic PSF up in there... gotta wonder why he's not around anymore. Even Wilson outlasted him, how sweet is that?! |
Re: Chris Wilson signs with Redskins
<<sigh>> A thread that deserves its place in hell and an unfortunate reminder of how a moron brought out the worst in me.

http://www.thewarpath.net/thread-hell/16666-a-signing-already.html
:laughing2 Good Lord Joe!!! I hope Wilson gets a legitimate shot at OLB in the 3-4. He can rush the QB and that would be playing to his strength. It's going to be very interesting to see the scheme used to fit the personnel instead of the personnel forced into the scheme. |
Re: Chris Wilson signs with Redskins
Now I know why we didn't sign Karlos Dansby or Larry Foote. Wilson is clearly the answer at LB! :smashfrea

It's a shame that ALL CFL'ers are a step slower.;) |
Re: Chris Wilson signs with Redskins
Yeah, definately happy about that. He'll be a solid performer for a while. Along with London.
|
Re: Chris Wilson signs with Redskins
I like Wilson good re-signing.
