Buying Stuff On Line

So Saturday I was working and realized I was out of business checks. So I went on line and found the ones I wanted, put in my order and they arrived today. I opened the box and these checks are hugh and they don't even fit in my check book. They are so big my employees will feel like they have won a golf tournament every time they get paid. I'm not even sure if the bank will accept them. So I call the place and they said too bad as they had their sizes listed. What are some of your experiences buying stuff on line.

I usually read the descriptions of what I'm buying. Never really had an issue.

I never have a problem getting things online. I go to Amazon and Cheaper Than Dirt. I use paypal from my account and check it like a hawk.

I saw the three checks to a page design with duplicates and never really thought about the size of the checks. I figure it was like papper and they use a standard size. I didn't know I was buying checks for a golf tournament.

I love to buy one of these to celebrate my parents B-Day gift to me each year. They always send a card with $20 in it. I like to take a picture of me holding a giant check written out for $20 and send it to the rest of my family as a joke. Why they send me $20 is beyond me...I am 36 have a career etc...just a card will do.

For everything but I only write a few checks a month. I pay all my bills by credit card then just write one check to the credit card co. So I guess I write 5 to 6 checks a month.

Re: Buying Stuff On Line

I made a similar mistake the first time I bought something online. Back in college I went to buy my dad a birthday present. He has UMD football season tickets and loves to tailgate so I thought I wanted to get him one of those tin buckets that you keep beer and ice in, like this:

But what I actually paid like $30 dollars for (and this was when I was a broke college student so that was a TON of money) was a metal version of this:

The lesson: read the description. And don't drink and online shop.

I buy alot of stuff on line just didn't think of checking the size descrition for checks. Now I bet they want $89 for a binder to hold these checks.

sometimes when i try to save a ton of money for clothes shopping, i will get an odd size etc.

Usually just retrun it.

Never had a bad experience buying stuff online and I have been doing it since 1998. I always buy from reputable storefronts and read the fine prints.

The fine print on these checks is 1 inch tall. Anybody have a good source for those extra large Manila Envelopes that I'm going to need so I can mail off my bills.

Are you going to have to hand write all checks now, or do you have a blueprint plotter?

What FD isn't telling you guys is, that in addition to the FD Sckool of Speling and Grammer, he's now expanded and is opening a new school for training in On-line Procurement & Contracting. I'm sure several of the gov't agencies down here will be signing up soon. :)

No goverment agency will want my services because I saved money on the checks and even got bigger checks.

just leave it in a lockbox or safe at work man, no need to buy a carrier for it if you never use them

Ok this too funny. I just got an email from the company thanking me for my order and just by chance they had I could buy a binder for these checks for $29.99. Boy I wonder how the he!! they knew I needed a new binder? Probably just a wild guess.
